I think the zero slipped by everyone so please share all your comments on the series so far here!

The #1 is awesome. It reads well, and I didn't want it to end (and on a cliffhanger that big?)! Keep this stuff up, and I'll keep coming back.

Yeah, the misnumbered Zero was my bad. I thought the series would start at #1, so I was going to change the Gorilla Grodd cover to #2. I didn't realize that the first two issue were going to be released at once.

Ha. Super big thanks for the cover this week, Doc, and on such late notice. The other cover is great and if you can renumber it zero (and just let Idlewilder know), we'll go ahead and get it in with the other story. As mentioned, the zero came out two weeks ago but it sorta slipped passed everyone I think. I was hoping having covers might attract more attention to Mr. Peattie's work and I guess it did!

Just to let everyone know: I do check in here regularly, and if anyone has any questions that they want to ask me about why I did the story the way that I did, I will try to respond within a day or so of posting!

I like this... But during the JLA/SSOSV fight, where was Sinestro?

During the fight with the robots, Sinestro was apparently hanging back for some reason and not taking part in the battle. This is a portion of the original DC SSOSV #1 written by Gerry Conway, who never got around to showing what Sinestro was doing during that sequence. And since it didn't even occur to me as I was adapting it, I didn't show it either! Probably, he had used his power ring to make himself invisible or something so that he could wait for his own opening...but since the JLA members were quickly defeated and shown to be robots, he didn't need to join the fight.

Should be tomorrow, I think. I'm looking forward to the reaction to this one...this is where we get into the test missions for the team members. The first one, with Grodd and Copperhead, was actually a part of DC's original SSOSV #1, but the others never got shown, so I created those on my own. I'm very anxious to know what people think of them!

If its up to the standard of the other issues, this one will be fantastic. Keep up the good work Mr Peattie.

Actually, all seven books in this series have already been written...they were finished last year! But thanks for the kind words!
Enjoy chapter three!

I was curious. You said seven books in the series, and then you referred to each issue as a chapter. Are there only a few more left or do many chapters compose just one book? This is pry me overthinking things to get some hope of seeing a lot more issues in the future. This series is a really, fantastic contribution and I love reading every issue.

Yes, every book in the series has multiple chapters to it. And the folks here at DCU 2 are making each chapter an issue unto itself. So this IS going to continue for quite some time, because not only did I adapt to prose form every SSOSV story DC published prior to IDENTITY CRISIS, I also did my own novel to wrap up loose ends and have some fun with the SSOSV after the adaptations were over. I'm really glad you're enjoying the first book so far. If you have any more questions regarding what was done in it, please feel free to ask!
