Susan,
Are the Hex tales (not counting the recent (and excellent) Hexian history lessons) chronological or will they (&/or whatever other tales get told in WWQ) jump around timeline-wise? Also, if they are chronological, is the plan to set them before or after Hex's adventures in the future?
Just curious, Alexi

Alexi, you beat me to the punch! I was planning on touching on WWQ's timeline in next month's lettercol, but since you went ahead and posted a thread for this, I'll say it here: for the moment, WWQ will jump around time-wise, depending on who's in the story.
From what I've dug up in research, DC's Old West history seems to fall across generational lines -- there's the early frontier days with Firehair and Hawk Son of Tomahawk, while Hex, Scalphunter, and Bat Lash are firmly entrenched in the Civil War/antebellum era, with younger heroes like Johnny Thunder, Cinnamon, and others mingling in as the years pass. As it stands now, WWQ will cover the first two eras simultaneously, with each tale dated accordingly (just as each chapter of "Death and Gunsmoke" has been dated), and once the series overall reaches a certain point (and no, I won't tell you what that point is yet!) the gap between eras will close, and WWQ will travel in a fairly straight line, from one story to the next. That's not to say we won't jump back a couple decades if a cool story presents itself, but for the most part we'll be marching into the future...well, the 20th century, but you get what I mean.
And to help alleviate what might be a tremedous headache for some readers, sometime next year I will be starting a timeline for WWQ under the Secret Files section, highlighting certain dates and events (both real and fictional). Also, keep an eye out for entries on various WWQ characters -- Scalphunter's already made a home there, and others will follow accordingly.
As for "the incident at Red Dog"...only time will tell.
