ok this is just frackin' cool. I loved this. A fantastic bent on Batman and the big red cheese. Seriously cool stuff. The whole idea of Bruce Wayne in possession of that much power..give me chills. Five stars.

This was my first post as an editor. I'm sure I missed a few things in the script.
It is, indeed, chilling.
I especially liked the pride/anger image.

Ya know, it is often said [by writers], that the story and the characters in it will follow paths and develop in ways quite different than you intend. This happened on this project. I had planned on spending a little time covering the death of the Waynes and a lot of time exploring the early period of Bruce as CM2. Instead I wound up captive as the story... honestly would not let me leave the Waynes so fast. The alley scene felt like it demanded more than just a cursory 'sound-bite' we have seen so often in comics & film. Martha and Thomas demanded a voice... and so this was my humble attempt re-create this scene as realistically as I am able. The early days of CM2 [prior to formation of Justice League] are glossed over as the Rha's al Ghul sub-plot needed space as well. I hope I did not short change the spandex action. For all those wanting big bang, part 3 will be the action laced climax all the drama has been leading too. I am currently doing a re-write / edit on # 3 and wondering if I am going to need a fourth issue to wrap things up.... hmm... either that or # 3 will be an old-school "Double Sized Spectacular" [as the funny books loved to say back then. ]

well I think you have done a great job on capturing Batman and Captain Marvel.
Marvel of course is as "pure" a character as their is. He does good for its own sake. Batman on the other hand is not so purely motivated. Revenge and justice are in constant conflict with Batman, and we've seen the amount of violence he is capable of with no superpowers. So to give someone this dark the powers of the gods....
I find this a very interesting story. Would he fight Superman if they weren't in public? How much do the gods temper Bruce's natural drive to punish the guilty? I mean, would Bruce have punched Superman if Solomon wasn't "talking" in his head?
Interesting stuff.

That question is the heart of # 3. Things come to a head, in an extreme situation [not giving away any spoilers]... and the temperment of Bruce comes into stark contrast with image of CM and the 'mantle of power' bestowed on him by the Gods.
Oddly enough, between conception and execution, DC itself is exploring similar themes in their "Trials of Shazam" series.... [damn] there are no original stories I guess.... LOL just variations on themes...............

LOL just variations on themes............... Read Campbell's "Hero of a thousand faces and you'll see there are only a handful of original stories ever. As for Bruce...it almost seems to me that, give how you have set this up, he could end up as a Black Adam kind of character.....
