Hello, and welcome to WWQ's version of IXE! For those not familiar with the term, IXE stands for "Issue 10 Event", and has become shorthand around DC2 for our big summer events, the reason being that the first one happened when the majority of our titles hit #10 waaay back in 2006. God, that seems like ancient history now, so much has happened to both the DC2 and to us writing it. Anyways, due to the quarterly nature of WWQ (and the fact the we're sort-of stuck in the 19th Century 'round these parts), we've never participated in any of the big events. So when I saw that the numbers for this lil' title were slowly (oh so slowly!) approaching The Big 1-0, I thought we should finally step out a bit and drag some other folk into our fun. And with Don graciously letting me take the reins of JUSTICE LEAGUE for two issues (Thank you again, Don! I take back everything I ever said about you!), I punched up a tale that I have honestly been itching to tell for three years.
If you've never been to WWQ before, I'm glad you took the chance to check out our wares. I hope you stick around after the Long-Underwear Brigade has gone home, as I do my best to be entertaining. Besides, the aforementioned writer of JL, Don Walsh, shall be giving us a cowboy yarn of his own in the coming months, so you should at least stick around for that. And for you regular readers, let me assure you that this crossover here isn't just some stunt to pull in new fans (okay, maybe a little bit of that...). This will effect all the WWQ characters involved in some way or another, though those effects may not be evident for a while. Matter of fact, the first ripple coming out of this will be felt in SEVEN SOLDIERS OF VICTORY #4. And the next big one will be...
Well, let's just way that there's a long road laying between here and there.

Somehow I missed that this was up. My bad!
So that's what happened to the others. Good to see that at least Flash knows what's going on, mostly!
Looking forward to the conclusion!

Another outstanding issue from one of our top writers. And I'm not just saying that. This issue had so many characters in it, and Susan handled them all brilliantly and effortlessly. I couldn't help but chuckle at Scalphunters first run in with Ralph and didn't think it could get any better, but then you brought in my main man! Bat is back, and his meeting with Barry was even better then Ralph and Scalphunter. So there it was, Susan had peeked. NOPE! Here comes Jonah and Hal! You have a wonderful grasp on these two and the differences between them was done perfectly. I'm a fan of this book with or without the tights, but bringing all your characters together (and I'm figuring Jonah is going to meet up with Kate, Bat and Scalp soon), is what I'm really looking forward to. 5 well deserved stars! The cover is one of my favorites of the week, but then again, Riz can do no wrong in my book! And I'm not just saying that because I'm late on a book over at DC3 . But I will end this little critique by saying... MORE BAT! MORE BAT!

I was lucky enough to get to read all three parts in advance thanks to our kindly writer, and it's just as fun to read a second time around. Good stuff, great interaction, well-done action, this is a wonderful entry, with a great balance of stars and guest-stars and what they get to do. You've got a great control of the setting and pacing, and it shows, so great job, Susan. I expect no less, and you offer exactly what we expect.
And part three coming up soon, can't wait!
Take care Don

Somebody's requesting more Bat Lash? I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear it. I actually have a couple ideas rattling around in my head regarding Mrs. Lash's baby boy, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to them...and one involves (hopefully) re-teaming with Brandon Herren, so that should give you an inkling of what that story might be.
All the characters will be meeting up soon (they have to be, this is only a 3-part story!), but not before we have a little more fun with Jonah and Hal by their lonesome. There is still a surprise or two to be had, I promise...and Don, even though you had a sneak-peek, be sure to check out Part 3, as I did add a minor change per Mark's request.
No comments about Kate? Well, we'll wait until David chimes in, I'm sure he'll have something to say about our Cinnamon girl.

Gah! I didn't realize this was connected to JLA until after reading WWQ. So after reading both issues let me just say, great job. I liked the interaction between all the characters, but particularly the meeting between Hawkgirl and Cinnamon was great. I've never really seen interaction between any of the Hawks and their ancestors, (predecessors? Retcons!? ) And I thought it was pretty cool to see it happen. Oh, and of course Hex as usual was great, same goes with Bat Lash. Hats off to Miss Susie, and same goes with whoever drew that cover. Five Stars

The cover was by Borize, whom I've wanted to work with since...I dunno, forever...but I was waiting for the right story to come along. He listened to my requests very well, and even his ad-libs are good. I'm anxiously waiting to see the cover for JL#16.
Interesting that you read the WWQ installment first, Clown. I actually thought that might happen in some cases, so I made sure that this issue let all the non-JL readers get up to speed on who our little visitors are before things went nuts. Hope it worked!
The Hawkgirl/Cinnamon stuff was complete serendipity. The story, on a whole, is based on JLoA #198-199, with a ton of elaboration thrown in because the original is pretty bare-bones -- 99% of the events in JL#15 don't even occur in the original story. Anyhow, in that one, the cast is virtually identical except Zatana was there instead of Hawkgirl. Well, Zee was off-limits (which was fine by me, I wasn't relishing the thought of writing such a powerful magic-user) so Don sent me a list of other female Leaguers to use. When I saw Hawkgirl's name, I was thought, "Oh, this could be fun!" Then I PM'd David and asked what would happen if Kate and Kendra met face-to-face -- in DC2, Kendra is not a reincarnation of Chay-Ara like Kate is, so it's not like Kate's literally looking at herself, but I wondered if the sight of that Hawkgirl costume would trip any alarm bells. David thought that there'd be a reaction of some sort, but not any massive revelation, so the space-time continum would be relatively safe if they met. To be sure, Kendra's made a lasting impression on our Cinnamon girl, as you'll see at the end of Part 3.
