A very well done adaption of JLA 100-102. The characterizations were spoton for the most part. As a sometime writer myself I have minor quibbles with the story. For instance, wouldn't it have been simpler for Alan to have his ring translate the language? In the Roman era you could easily have used Golden Gladiator or Alpha Centurion as gueststars.
Like I said, minor points of personal preference. Overall, the story worked for me.

Continuing on the great narrative, we see the rescue of the Soldiers and more of the great characterization and lurking menace that's been woven into the very fabric of the series. This has been a great ride, Susan, and I can't wait to see the conclusion. It's going to be great stuff.
Take care Don

Glad you like it, A2uton! I think I may have mentioned already, but the most exposure I have to JLoA #100-102 is a summary I read about three years back -- I didn't want to mimic the original scene-for-scene, so I've purposely avoided reading the full comics version, though I did copy a few of the "past" locations from it because they were too good to pass up. As for Alan's ring translating languages...I'm honestly not sure if it can do that, I thought only Hal's could. Forgive my blunder if Alan's can as well...or go yell at David for not telling me so. And you did have a good point about my missing an opportunity for throwing in some Roman-era cameos. The few historical figures that did make it in were last-minute additions that I tossed in as they occurred to me, with the exception of Brian "Scalphunter" Savage: I'd promised Charlie that scene years ago, and being the main writer of WWQ, I would have hated myself forever if I'd left it out!
Good to see you're still enjoying it, Don...and I'd be remiss if I didn't take a sec to point out to everybody the first installment of Don's Crimson Avenger serial in SHOWCASE #2, which of course takes place years before the SSoV mini. Go take a look if you haven't already, it's great!

I've never known Alan's ring to do that, either... His ring is not Oan, and thus not science- or tech-based. Could be that it can do it, but maybe Alan never thought of it!

I'm enjoying the daylights out of this series. Talk about juggling a load of characters! I don't envy you at all, but you have pulled this off nicely. Everytime I finished a scene, I thought, oh, I like that one the best, but the following scene just topped it. Each rescue was so unique in style that it made it very entertaining. Poor Greg, though. I really felt sorry for him. Excellent cover as well. 5 stars for this.

Thanks, Brian, I don't envy me either. Once I'm done with this miniseries, I swear I'm not gonna undertake anything this big again for a long time! And don't feel bad for Greg, he's had a very full life in the Old West...which you will eventually see more of in WWQ. Jay: If you think Crimson's in bad shape right now, wait until you see what happens to him in #5!
