When I send in a submission, is there a preferred format?
I use WordPerfect, though I can see that most people seem to be using Word.
And by the way, do we send in submissions as attachments to an e-mail to the admin? Or do we PM them? PMing thru a cut and paste will lose pre-formatted text { like italics }....
So umm what is the answer?

Rowdy, good question!
My preferred method is an MS Word document attached to an email (click on my username for the address), however, I will take it in whatever format you are able to get it to me (and convert it).

Thanks for the info, like I said I use WordPerfect cause that is what I got.. and I am to darn cheap to buy anything else..LOL
Hopefully any formatting issues in regards to text { italics, parentheses, quotation, bold or underlined type } will not be adversely affected by this.

Well, as long as I can retrieve it into Word it's fine! (WordPerfect and Notepad work, so no worries.)

I use Wordperfect too, but I usually copy and paste it into Wordpad (recognized by most programs) before I send it to the editor.

I was wondering, if you don't have Wordperfect how would you retrieve the file? Or would you just have to get the person to send it as a Word file instead?

Well, I have now "acquired" Word so the question is moot.
I will be posting my first submission VERY soon.

Do you prefer it to be an attachment or to be put into the email? I've been sending you my stuff in emails because I'm used to people not wanting attachments. I can change this though.

I don't know about anyone else but I prefer attachments. I can download right to the proper file and it saves the cut and paste step.

I'll do the attachments in the future then. Seems it'll help.

Hi all, Just a quick tip: Nearly all word processing progs support RTF (rich text format) so, for example, WordPerfect can SaveAs this format and Word (and most other apps) can read it. (But as mentioned Word does a fairly good job of reading in most WP files anyway.) Also, for a FREE application suite that is nearly 100% compatible with MS Office (including Word), just download and install OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org. This is a great open source product and means you don't need to buy M$ Office. Just remember to save your documents as Word documents (*.doc extension). Bye for now... -wra
