OK...
I'm really not liking the new direction.
At all!

I'm still buying this title, though I really don't "get" what's going on. I haven't been thrilled with this series since its initial relaunch but I've always liked Aquaman so I still buy it, hoping something will make me happy.

I finally read the latest issue of this book, but after ditching it at #41, I'm lost. I know who tentacle guy is, but this doesn't make it any less a confusing book. I mean... It was suddenly sent back to the Golden Age, with the mariner origin, but then dragged back to the present with the appearance the "original" Aquaman we all know and sometimes love! I dunno. It does seem like Conan-Under-The-Sea, but with Atlantis, Ocean Master, and all the forgotten Aquaman lore of the 90s/00s being rereintroduced... Will it get better?

I read the first three issues and was bored, bored, bored. There's a new writer coming on around #50. I plan on giving it another try then.

I just read on the plot so far on wikipedia and I've got to say I'm confused. And I hear that the Dweller of the Depths bears a big resemblance to Orin-Aquaman, even though he looks like the squiddy Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. Wha's going on?

Something about his hand. He's now like... 50% water... Weird.

I liked the Kurt Busiek run... I like what Tad Williams wrote, but I am sure I don't like the art of the #50

I liked the Kurt Busiek run... I like what Tad Williams wrote, but I am sure I don't like the art of the #50 I think Busiek is one of the better writers working today, but the art on his run (Jackson Guice, was it?) was kinda bad, and really turned me off. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Issue 50. I'm a fan of Tad Williams (though I haven't read his recent novels), and I think this is the best Shawn McManus' art has ever looked. I hope they manage to keep a consistent creative team on the book, and allow it to find it's sea legs. I have high hopes for this book! BTW, despite the ending, even Tad has stated we haven't seen the last of the original Aquaman (Orin).

I gave up on Aquaman in the DCU a long time ago. I'm waiting for the inevitable Geoff Johns revamp (*crosses fingers*) for the character to make sense again.

Grant Morrison is using Aquaman in Final Crisis (check the earlier issues) and and Geoff Johns has mentioned that those appearances will be leading into Blackest Night!
