Okay gang. I was gonna draw a new pic today, but I was sidetracked. I decided to try out a different coloring technique. The wife demanded her picture done, before our next Champions session... And when the wife throws down the gauntlet I kneel for mercy. Here is a before and after pic. Let me know if you like the coloring technique. Was actually fun to color. She hasn't seen it yet. Hopefully she likes it.

Just so you all know, the reason I've been pretty absent over the last few months, is because of work and in my spare time, I've been practicing Anatomy, and life drawing a lot. I couldn't practice with covers, because of the need for color. It doubles the effort if I need to color every piece. If I had my own colorist, it wouldn't have been a problem, heh heh. The purpose behind this is the fact that I just turned 38. Time is running out on me, and if I am going to get published, I need to do it soon. So I decided to take myself seriously for once! I've been working hard over the last couple of months to improve my skills to the point where I felt comfortable submitting my stuff to an Art Director who does work for various publishers (mostly RPG books). I submitted my portfolio today. Hopefully some work comes out of it. It is a very competitive industry, and there are a lot of talented artists out there with varying styles. I am hoping my style is pleasing to them. It would be nice to publish something "legit" with a real professional publisher before I die. I don't need the money, nor do I want to make a career out of it. I just want to say, that I "did it". I will be coloring this picture soon. Just trying to figure out the color scheme I want to use.

Cool!
Trevor, how come you're not interested in designing characters for "Dial H" in Showcase...? You seem to be wonderfully creative.
