Great job on this, Leadslinger!
This was a fun, exciting Superman tale, in the classic tradition. It was nice to see Jimmy Olsen as Elastic Lad, but it was even cooler to see Mxy show up! Nice characterization, there! It's always tough to thinks of ways to get rid of the imp, and you built up a great way to do it!
I also liked the the interaction between Clark and Lois--- especially their last line, when Jimmy had to stop Clark from rubbing his nose! I laughed outloud!
And it sounds like we have something ominous developing in that epilogue...!
If this is the shape of things to come, it's going to be a wild ride in Action Comics!

OK, I'm reading it, and here's my play by play analysis: Post one: Didn't an exchange JUST like this happen only a month or so ago? Post two: Awe inspiring, good job, nice imagery. And what an intro to two 'new' characters! You have a really cool handle on Superman, and if this is an example of your future run on the book, it can only mean good things! And look, no Swamp Thing... So far... Post three: Clever way to get rid of the Imp, and it made me smile because it reminded me of the original story by the creators of Superman, and that's always a good sign! Post four: Wow, Lois is a bit of a bitch, isn't she? Floosey in the beginning and now kind of rude at the end... Post five: Yes! Awesome way for making us want more! Congrats Kevin, you've got a winner! Awesome cover, cool story with a beginning, middle and end! Can't wait for your run on Action! Don't let me down...

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Fun and engaging, with great characterizations. I don't know what Clark sees in that sourpuss Lois (maybe it's the cleavage). Jimmy was in fine form and any story with Mxy is gonna be a little off beat.
It occurs to me that I'm repeating what the other letters said, so let me end this by saying I also am looking forward to your "Action" run. Great job.

Great story. Mxy can be tough for some writers and I think you did a great job. All this needs is for Curt Swan to draw it! I too, laughed at Jimmy stopping Clark from rubbing his nose. PERFECT!

Thanks a lot guys! To get such good criticism from such talented people is quite flattering! I knew taking over a title after such a successful run by such a great writer was going to be tough. As a kid I grew up on the 60's and 70's Superman comics as well as the George Reeves reruns and Fleischer cartoons and for me that will always be the true Superman. If I can capture just a small fraction of that wonderment then I have done my job! ;D

Old school, classic, and fun! Those were my first thoughts when reading this story. I really had no idea that I would enjoy this as much as I did. It was such a simple story. By that I mean you took everything that works in a story and ran with it. No angst or bitterness in the characters. Just a fun tale that showcased classic characters at their finest. It was well thought out from beginning to end and was executed perfectly! This is the first tale that gets my 5 * approval! I agree that Action will be in good hands with you at the helm Kev! I loved the cover but don't get to use to having that guy as your artist. He still have some Squad covers left to do!

Thanks John! Going into this the cover artist told me that he was already committed to you! He's kind of a weird guy, he must be French or something because every time he draws he wears this funny flat hat and he says "We We" alot!! ;D

Great story, Kev! You don't get any more 'Classic Superman' than this. Very cool to see Jimmy in his Elastic Lad persona and it's always loads of fun to see Mxyzptlk show up. Now if he would just corporealize the Bat-Mite Virus there could be a World's Funniest team-up! Ha.

Nice job. I have to agree that Lois seemed a bit off here, but Jimmy and Supes were great. Terrific way to get read of MXY too. I read the feedback before the story and with everyone talking about how it was old school I read it all with in my head and imagined it in black and white with George Reeves as Superman. Fun story and I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
