Fantastic debut, Roy!
I was really excited when I heard you were the new writer on this title, because I think you really understand Superman, and this issue proved that. This felt like Chris Reeve in the costume, and all the wonder and optimism (even in the midst of this crisis!) which that entails.
The stuff with Lois and Clark was great, but I love the flashback scene with Clark and his Pa! Nicely crafted and written like a pro. This is what I mean about Roy being right for this title!
Looking forward to a new era of greatness on Action, and a long run from this brilliant new writer and his all-pro, extremely talented cover artist!

I just have to put in my two cents here and say that Roy did an outstanding job coming out of the gate! I'm very excited to be working with him on this series, and let me tell you folks, he's got some awesome idea's that's going to be talked about for a long time to come! Year three of Action Comics is going to be a benchmark year! Trust me on that one!

Thanks Dave, for the kind words, Brilliant? Hardly. Sleep deprived? Definately. I don't know about greatness, but I will strive to do my best for everyone. I have to say thanks to Charlie for allowing me to get my feet wet with the Krypton Square story, and encouraging me to do this. When Mark first asked me to write Action I admit I was more than a little flattered and a lot worried about living up to the great stuff that has come before, by writers such as yourself and Ramon and Charlie, really everyone on the board scares the beejebus out of me. (in a good way) Everyone is so talented and all the stories are so well done. I really labored with whether or not to do it. Thanks Brian for agreeing to help me with this. Your two cents are more like two dollars! I am going to be relying on you heavily for support and the editorial spitshine! I do feel a little like a nepatist (is that a word?) doing the covers myself but I do have some guest spots in mind. Roy

I'm so glad Roy is writing this book, because if anyone on the site has an idea of who Superman is, it's this guy. I loved this issue, thought it segued really well into the main book, and the characterisation and interaction between the characters was really strong! Loved it!

What struck me most was how readily people turned against the League--and Lois! Heartbreaking.
Looking forward to where you go wtih this, my friend.
Writer AND artist....you've got it all.

Simply: awesome story. As said above, seeing people turn against their heroes was just crazy, but an enjoyable read. Keep up the good works my friend.

It was nice to be able to read a crisis tie-in issue and have no idea what was going to happen. Of course when I started reading this my first thought was’ “Everything seems a bit off.’ First Perry and then Jimmy. Something weird was going on here! Then it slowly hit me and everything made sense!
I liked how you had the protester flush Superman out by using Lois. I also really liked Clark’s flashback with Pa. Bloodsport was a nice surprise too. But I especially like how you really seem to have a handle on Clark’s inner monologue. And the fact that Lois Lane was almost bearable here is high praise considering I don’t like her all that much as a character.
Another great cover but I always get nervous when you artsy types starting writing around here because then there’s nothing left for those of use who can’t draw! All kidding aside, I hope you stick around for a while because I really enjoyed this issue and can’t wait to see what you have in store during your run.

Thanks. No matter how good you are or what good you do there is always someone waiting somewhere to take you down!
hehehe that worked huh?
Thanks, I liked the flashback too. Thanks to Brian for for suggesting it. Hehe Bloodsport was kinda an accident but one of those fortuitious ones....he's gonna become a real thorn in Supes side. Hehe Lois.....weelll lets just say for all you Lois haters out there....her time is coming!
Makes me nervous too! WHAT HAVE I DONE!
