Can we all just take a moment and bask in the glory of that cover?

Can we all just take a moment and bask in the glory of that cover? That is a hot cover... In fact, I don't think there's ever been a cover of Jor-El spanking an adult Superman... It's kind of a first!

Yeah, definitely a first for a cover of that subject, I believe. NOT the first time it's shown up in a Superman comic though. I do recall an issue of Brave and the Bold (I believe) with Doctor Fate where Jor-el was spanking Superman for wasting his gifts being a super-hero rather than following Jor-El's footsteps as a scientist. For the record. LOL Take care Don

I loved this cover when I first saw it. Roy can do no wrong, in my book! The story was excellent and I'm extremly proud to be editing this title. With Roy's guidance and Charlie's awesome words, the Superman mythos is really beginning to grow. And take from one who knows, you all ain't seen nothing yet. Excellent work gentlemen. Take a bow.

All of this was good; I rather suspect Jor-El's body is aging way too fast. Sad.
The Supergirl stuff is good too.
But my main question is what the heck is Clark? An android? Or what??

That cover is messed up, Roy.
I like it!

I love the way this story is developing. I know these are Charlie's words, but Roy's influence is all over this issue. Great job, gentlemen!
If this is really some form of Jor-El or his consciousness--- what a gullible jerk! Superman should use some Katro Vo (?!?) on him!
How long before Kara comes to the rescue? Not too soon for Lois and "Clark"!
On another note, I'm glad Superman was not horribly maimed in some way in this issue--- but things don't look so good for "Jor-El"!
Roy, for your next cover, do Batman spanking Robin.
What? They're father and son, after all! Nothing creepy about that...
;D
(I'm sorry, I can't stop!)

Thanks guys for reading and responding. Props to Charlie for pulling everything together, that's the hardest part for me sometimes making everything fit, and Charlie knows just how to make it work! We've decided to keep working this way until Charlie has finally had enough of me. Hey! KSM! Nice to see ya! That cover was so much fun to draw. You may see a whole run of silver age style covers in the future! Till then Up, Up and Away! (still looking for that ending catchphrase)

The cover is a disgrace.
The story is good, but I can think of 100 other plots that would make the title better.

And you obviously don't get it. I have little patience for members who use their first opportunity to post to denigrate someone else's work, while at the same time claiming they can do better. Some of the best talent of the DC2 is on this title, and if what they're doing is not your cup of tea, then give them the courtesy of an explanation. Whining about it does no one any good, and it makes you look like a heel.

Charlie and Roy are separately two of this site's best, but put them together and you got a great team. Especially when they are doing Action Comics together. Mischief

This issue certainly delivered on the big fight scene from the previous issue. It also had its tender moments as well. The only thing that bugged me was the dialogue took me out of the story at parts making it a little hard to enjoy the story more. Most of it seemed forced and over the top in places, specifically Lois and Lex.
The mystery of Clark looks to be solved very soon given the situation Lois and Clark are in!
Kara's story continues to be interesting as she moves closer to be coming Supergirl. I really like the way this has been handled so far.
The cover was just too perfect. Great stuff!
Not the best issue but the story was solid.
3 stars.
