This was beautiful. I really enjoyed reading this, and Action Comics is becoming a book that is sure just to... Please. Roy's covers are beautiful, his stories tight and his characterisation spot on. I'm enjoying the intrigue with Fero, and I love the soft little crossover with Wonder Woman! Check it out Five stars. Great work, Roy, Roy and Brian!

Roy,
Outstanding work, I don't usually read this book, but with Brian's crossover leading back here with the Fero Corporation; I am glad I did.
This story is telling, but I would have loved to see more of the Fero Corp.... I really hate to see Batman maligned by Gordon, but Batman deserved it! He kept the world away while he played by his own rules! So, I cannot fault Gordon whatsoever...
Your cover is a piece of artwork... the sorrow.. the night.. the gargoyle.. all homages to the Dark Knight.
I felt kind of empty because I wanted more content... but all in all this book is outstanding.
**** from me.

Thanks! Z. I get your point and it was a concern for me in doing this issue, that nothing much really happened. This issue was a lot of setup for what is about to come and I didn't want to do to much to make it run too long or detract from that. I originally had a whole other story planned out for this issue but once I read Batman and Detective I thought I should have Superman acknowledge that in some way. I wanted to show how Superman felt about recent Bat events without effecting what's going over there. Thanks for reading and come back next month for more Fero goodness with a creamy crossover filling!

Very well done. The bitterness of Gordon and Alfred is well displayed. Too bad we didn't get a Dick/Kal-El scene, but I'm sure that will come in time.
The Fero corporation story gets more and more interesting.

Powerful stuff, Roy! I really enjoyed this issue. I think you did the right thing here, reacting to the events of Batman and 'Tec--- of course Superman would have a reaction to the death of his friend!
The Gotham scenes were very well done. I laughed outloud when Superman dealt with the "punks" and got a little choked up at the scene with Alfred.
And that cover is simple, poignant and beautiful. One of your best (and that's saying a lot).
Five stars, easy!

I really liked this story. You captured something important about Superman...and that is hope. Where everyone in Batman's world is dealing with a mix of grief and rage over Batman's death and the events that lead to it, Superman is still holding out hope for his lost friend. Very well done.

A fantastic issue, all round. I've been meaning to read Action Comics for a while and this... this issue was exactly why I love Superman. His reaction to what's happened to Bruce was genuinely emotional, and I loved the rapport played up with Alfred and Gordon- it truly makes the events of the Bat-books more heartbreaking.
The continuing development on sub-plots was strong as well here, with Lois and whatnot moving along nicely- and the cover was perfect for the issue. That said, I did have some minor issues- some of the dialogue in places felt a little weak or contrived. Moreover, I've never been a fan of the idea that Perry is a father figure to Superman. Clark, maybe, Superman, no, and it just doesn't sit right with me to see him call Superman 'son'. Other than those, very good issue- 4 stars from me and I'll be back next month!

I see Perry calling Superman "son" more of an affectionate thing that he'd call younger men around himself that he's being nice to, not as in "your my son in a way deeper way than blood!"

I was honestly surprised at how much I liked this issue even that it appeared to be more of a fill in/set-up issue. First off, the cover is too cool for words and should be framed somewhere!
Secondly, I thought that the way that the bad guys in Gotham reacted to Sups was done brilliantly. It was nice to see the contrast between Sups and Bats done so well. The scenes with Gordon, and especially Alfred showed that Bruce was more flawed then even Clark realized (or was willing to admit).
More Fero intrigue as the crossover finally begins next issue.
It was a pretty powerful issue with some great moments overall.
4 stars.
