This was everything I could ever want from any kind of fiction, ever. Characterisation, action, suspense... It was a perfect balance of everything. Whilst reminiscent of the new Justice Society of America direction Johns and Eaglesman are going in, this was, by far, the best, and I hope that sooner rather than later you collaborate with someone ( ) and get an ongoing out featuring these characters. Honestly, this was... I don't want to put into words what I think. It won't seem enough. Bravo, Dave. Bravo.

Too true! Riz turned in some really fantastic stuff here--- and not just the front cover, but the interior illustration (the close-up of the cover photo), and the special illustration at the end (all of it done in record time, and to my sometimes difficult-to-imagine specifications)! He's a true pro and a joy to work with!

This was everything I could ever want from any kind of fiction, ever. LOL! Well, I will take that in the spirit it was given, but acknowledge it just might be a slight exageration...! But thanks! My dancecard is pretty full-up for the foreseeable future, but I promise you that you will see more JSA stories from me, sooner or later. In the meantime, to tide-over our Golden Age fans, I have a two-part All-Star run in the works featuring a certain Winged Avenger, and if we are all very lucky, this year will also see the appearance of secret project by Susan Hillwig featuring--- ! Well, let's just say, Golden Age fans will definately want to check it out! Oh! And the Golden Age Vigilante is next up in Weird Western Quarterly (and if you're not already reading that title, than shame on you!), so it's a good time to be a Golden Age fan at the DC2! Thank you very much, Charlie! This story's been kicking around in my noggin since JSA: Legends of the Golden Age #1 (written way back in late 2005), and I'm really glad I was able to finally get it out. I had a lot of fun writing this, so if folks have as much fun reading it, than I'm happy.

This is SO awesome. One of the best of the site. I mean, time traveling is awesome! And the Infinitors! And HE came back! Just too much awesomeness! Owo!!! Thanks for reading, Seb, and for the kind comments! Time-travel stories can be tricky, which is why I was careful to write this one in as linear a fashion as possible, so it was clear and easy to read. Also, it worked nice with the naming of the Infinitors--- I wanted to evoke that generational name, but avoid the cheesy Infinity Inc label. Plus, how can you have an epic JSA tale without tying it in some way to WWII? ;D

Hey guys!
Great annual! This story rocked! Great birthday present! And I liked seeing the "returns" of Jay, the Hawks, and Polly!
Are these Infinitors going to get their own title?
And will you guys finish up the storyline you started in the Golden Age JSA title before you begin the modern JSA one?

Hey guys! Great annual! This story rocked! Great birthday present! And I liked seeing the "returns" of Jay, the Hawks, and Polly! Couldn't have a JSA tale without them, could we? Of course, it did present a problem that all of them were dead...! Hope you liked my way around that! The Infinitors will be showing up again in the DC2--- maybe sooner than you think--- though not necessarily in their own title... Honestly, I hope so. It is definately my intention to get back to that origin story (and to tell more Golden Age adventures), but I couldn't give you a specific timeline yet. I have a big project in the works ( Gotterdammerung, debuting next week, as a matter of fact ;D), but then after that, all I want to do is JSA and Hawkman! I will keep you posted!

I was all set to go to bed when I decided to read the first part of this. Well, I couldn't put it down! This is why David is a master story-teller. It has been way too long since his words have graced these boards, but he came back with one heck of a bang.
Rejoice everyone, for the JSA have returned, with members both new and old. A time travel piece that pulled together the roots of the Golden Age and brought into the present, with legacy characters to boot.
*SPOILERS*
There are so, so many awesome moments that I can't begin to name them all, but the one that sticks out to me the most is his wonderful nod to Jay. My pulse raced when he along with the original Wonder Woman and Hawkman, appeared. But it was the final moment before Jay left that put a lump in my throat.
David not only took the history that DC had created for these characters, and the new flavor that DC and Johns is using for the new JSA over there, but he made sure to remind us of our own history here at DC2 as well. It was done flawlessly and with a tremendous amount of love for the JSA, DC, and DC2.
I also have to say that the artwork in this was just as brilliant as the story itself. Great job!
I only hope and pray that we do not have to wait as long for the next thrilling installment.
Five stars is not enough, but it's all I can give. As always, I stand in awe of this writer.

I was all set to go to bed when I decided to read the first part of this. Well, I couldn't put it down! Thanks for tackling such a long issue in one reading, Brian! Annual's should be big and special (extra art, supplemental stuff, stand-alone story, etc)--- something to say to the reader "This isn't just a regular monthly installment with an Annual tag..." And what better title than All-Star Comics in which to bring back the JSA...? It's great to be back! I forgot the little thrill I get the night one of my issues posts, and people start reading and feedbacking! Feedback is the ultimate validation for a Fan Fic writer, and I humbly acknowledge the readers investment of time with sincere gratitude. I mean, hey--- House was on last night! I've always loved that aspect of the JSA--- the generational continuity, and the legacy of heroism... I'm a big fan of the two recent Johns' runs, and the place the team has in a DC-type universe. That last scene is one of my favorites, too. I had just told Jay Garrick, one of the nicest guys in any fictional universe, that he was dead--- I wanted to give him something to offset that, and the picture of him and Joan would say it all to him! Well, it's no secret to those who've known me for a while, that the heroes of the Golden Age are near and dear to me. I'm just glad I was able to do them justice, and finally bring these characters into modern-day DC2 continuity. Of course, where we go from here with them is going to be the really cool part... ;D! Couldn't agree more. Riz came with his "A" game to this issue! You won't. I promise! Thank you, sir! ;D You're one of my biggest inpirations on the site, so it's always good to hear you like my stuff!

With the exception of Alan Scott, I didn't feel too terribly close to the JSAers. But I do now.
This story is how it's supposed to be.
And it's a well written time travel story, to boot!
I can't tell you anything others haven't said before me, but I echo all of it!

The Jay Garrick stuff made me cry...you jerk! That's the only bad thing I can say about this issue. My Lord, I knew this was going to be special, but what you put together here is beyond words. It's funny, I was just thinking of Infinity Inc. the other day and wondering if it'd be feasible in DC2, then I thought, "Nah, we don't need another superteam around here..." I WAS WRONG! I want to see lots more of these guys and gals! At the very least, we need a regular JSA book. And thanks for the plug, BTW -- as a reward, the first issue of a certain something will be coming your way soon. Oh, wait, I just thought of a dangling plot point (sorry!): are Mr. Teriffic and Johnny Thunder still wiped out of existence, or is the newly-reformed JSA going to go fix that?

I can't tell you anything others haven't said before me, but I echo all of it! Thank's, Arc! As much as I like Alan, myself, the JSA is full of great characters, all with their own, unique voice. I had the most fun writing Wildcat and Hourman, actually!

The Jay Garrick stuff made me cry...you jerk! I always felt that Jay Garrick was the heart of the JSA (in the same way that people say J'onn J'onzz is for the JLA); that last scene was a late addition, and pretty much wrote itself--- but I love the way it ties together the whole issue! Thanks, Susie--- and right back at ya! You're one of the writers on the site that I read and think: "Man, I want to do what she does!" I promise, you haven't seen the last of Atomika, Bulleteer, Cyclone, Jade, Obsidian and Ray (and there are more legacy characters on the way, which some sharp-eyed readers might have picked-up on in this issue--- and elsewhere). However, while these characters were dubbed Infinitors (by Degaton, remember, so I don't know how long that tag will stick), they are not, properly, Infinity, Inc. I mention this because we may yet see a team by that name hit the DC2 (that is, if the rumors are true)! Agreed. I have 3 of 12 issues of Gotterdammerung in the bag--- and then after that... well, let's just say, I have about a years worth of storylines ready to go! Yes! It's like I won a prize! Can't wait to get my Golden Age-lovin' hands on it! This was my way of dealing with a couple of Golden Age characters that, for one reason or another, I didn't want to deal with, but felt I had to address in some way --- so I made them count for something (even if it was just dramatic roadkill). But--- Alas!--- they dangle not! These heroes were cruelly murdered by Degaton, and are wiped from DC2 continuity (at least in their Golden Age incarnations)--- though a clever writer will certainly have my blessing if they want to do something with the Golden Age versions of these characters. That being said, I have all intentions of exploring at least a part of the Thunderbolt mythos in that first year of JSA storylines I mentioned above (there are hints of this in another issue I've written this year)! Thanks for the feedback, Susan!

I love these characters. Maybe it was my prejudice showing but I was blown away by this issue. It was a well told tale and the time travel actually worked. So, its finally over for Per Degaton as he realised he lost for good. Although with time travel he can always come back in the future before he realised he was through. Oww, head hurt. Like Susan Hilwig I too wondered about Mr T and Johnny. In the traditional time displacement tale when the villian is defeated time is restored and everything goes back to the way we remember. That didn't appear to happen here. You were deliberately vague as to how the two heros were wiped out of history. The story actually reminded me of an issue of Action C omics posted on your site. According to that issue long time hero and JSA member The Champion was wiped out of memory by his arch nemesis. Superman was able to defeat the villian and send the Champion back to his own time. However, by doing so he actually created a divergent or parallel timeline. Its certainly easy enough to incorparate J.T. and Teriffic as part of that world. Say a DC2 Earth 2.

I loved seeing him in Palmiotti and Gray's Freedom Fighters (in fact, I just loved that whole series), and while I've been planning to bring him into the DC2niverse since at least December of 2005 (when another project was in its initial planning stages), I was thrilled to be able to debut him here! I definately think the JSA is the place for the legacy of the Ray.

That's the thing with comic books--- we could pretty much make anything happen if we set our minds to it (and the audience is forgiving enough)! But alas for Mr. T and Johnny T--- I have no intention of them being 'un-murdered' by Degaton... Their sacrifice added a certain dramatic value to the story that I would not want to see undone. On the bright side, they're going to get a couple of nice statues in the JSA Museum, which people will stare at in puzzlement and say, like Wildcat: "Johnny Who?" Thank you very much for the feedback, a2uton!
