Back on form!
Whilst there are echoes of Hush, I really enjoyed this finale. Enjoyed the great, albeit short, Red X/Nightwing fight, and the final "reveal", if you could call it that, was nice too. I enjoyed, darkly, the references to Todd's torture, and his dialogue didn't grate with me this time round. Nightwing didn't come across as a patsy this time round, which I liked, and Alfred acknowledging this was a "young mans" game was nice too, because we all know it is.
One tiny criticism: I didn't like the offing of Abattoir, but that's a small criticism for an issue that I think is back on form with your usual stuff. I like Abattoir. I like him because I have the audioplay of Knightfall, and his part in it was tight.
Heh.
Thanks Grant!

I enjoyed, darkly, the references to Todd's torture, and his dialogue didn't grate with me this time round. Nightwing didn't come across as a patsy this time round, which I liked, and Alfred acknowledging this was a "young mans" game was nice too, because we all know it is. Thanks Charlie! It was certainly never my attempt to show Dick as a loser or something. In fact, his innate curiosity is what, in part, caused the fight with Bruce...and lets face it, Nightwing isn't taking Batman out, not even on the best day of his life. And Jason just snuck up on and smashed him on the head. Still, it was fun to let Dick get a few shots in before the end. As for Alfred, ok, now that the story is done...I know you guys were all like "Oh Alfred is too old" and such. But here is the deal: The last time Batman went up against the Wrath he had teenaged sidekick who apparently got killed. He's panicking and being too cautious. He figures strength in numbers is going to help. But, at the same time, deliberately has Nightwing hang back for fear of the Wrath getting him. The whole thing appears irrational because it was. Batman's isn't exactly in top form here. And of course, it goes south almost right away and Alfred is left trying to fend off Red X by himself. Ok, I know he was a key character in Knightfall, but he was also a red shirt too. They needed a villain who Az-bats could be responsible for killing but it couldn't be one of the top rouges. So they create Abattoir basically just to kill him off. His importance is to the development of Az-bats, rather than his own story. It was, for me, the same deal here. His importance, like the others that Jason kills, is not about his character. It's about Jason's. On a final note, thanks to everyone for reading, thanks to Darth for some badass covers, and to the mighty Roman's Empire for being the editor!

Good issue, nice resolution to the storyline, all the ends tied into the lurking threat well. Here's hoping to get Vicki back, but I've always liked her. Jason was as irritating as ever, but I still enjoyed the story despite his attempts to suck the life out of it. Good to see Dick do better this time around. Definitely a good showing and back in form. Take care Don

this was an outstanding finale to this story. So many twists and turns it was making my head spin. Each character was distinctly written and unlike Don, I actually liked this version of Jason much more than DC proper. I can see that you're putting layers in him, and that's what makes all characters insteresting.
Excellent job.

I read Batman 24 & 25 this week during a quiet moment at work.
Loved the ending to this storyline. In fact, I really enjoyed every twist and turn from the past few issues. The Wrath is a great character to read (not just to draw!) and I really enjoyed Batman bringing Alfred into the fray; I completely get Grant's (Bruce's!) motivations for handling the situation as he did and wouldn't have had it any other way were I writing the title.
My own personal thanks to Grant for being so much fun to work with on this series and I hope that whichever artist picks up Batman now that my run is over really enjoys working on it!
Top stuff Grant, five stars.

I cant say much more than what every one else said other than it felt like a fine, profesional DC published volume of batman not like fan art in everyway. You even ended it properly. The way to end a Batman arc is never finish the story. Let life play out when your done with it. Brilliant 10 out of 5 stars

Same as above, top marks! Wondering what else to add, but I seriously can't think of anything, and I don't want to sound forced so I'll just settle for 'Major Kudos!'
