I have to admit, this was hard to write, but when I got going, and finally completed it, I loved what I had done, and I hope that shines through for the reader. Batman is going to be going on a roller-coaster ride in the next few months, and I know you'll love where we go with it!
Please tell us what you thought of this issue!

HUSH!!!! Whoo! That was a good issue, man. Black Mask was creepy as hell and Hush trying to get his opinion to sink into Gordon's head was interesting but man I was pumped when Bats crashed in and fought him. And the little tease of you know who(read Nemesis!) was fun. Great issue Charlie and I shall be back next issue.

"It. Never. Is."
Good stuff, but would Jason really wanna save Dick?

"It. Never. Is." Good stuff, but would Jason really wanna save Dick? You'd have to read DC2 Nemesis Prologue: The Dark Knight, out in a few days. And Jason didn't do any saving, I don't see where you're coming from with that. Someone watched Batman in the Narrows, but that someone didn't do jack to save him...

And the little tease of you know who(read Nemesis!) was fun. Great issue Charlie and I shall be back next issue. Hush will be back (you think Blackgate could hold him?) and he isn't through with Commissioner Gordon. Black Mask? He's front and centre next issue, and he's such a thrill to write right now. He's changing on a really sinister level and I hope you like where I take him and it might very well lead him out of the Bat-books!! Like the blurb promised, we do solve the mystery of the Grey Ghost next time around too. We have two special guest stars, as an old friend from Las Vegas drops in to visit, and another who you won't expect. I'm having a blast writing it, and it should be out soon. Next month though, we have two issues of Batman coming out, one written by myself and with a cover from the irrepressible Jayson Morriseau-Lussier, and the second written by the extremely talented writer of Firestorm, Alex Vasquez Romero, with a cover by the regular team of Steven Howard and Jonathan Biermann! I'm excited! You should be too

Well done Charles! I loved the entire issue. The mind games of Hush and what that suggests about his motivations were very interesting.
The Black Mask seen was maybe the creepiest thing I had read from you yet!

So Black Mask had the mask removed, an its so painful he'll need painkillers until he dies? Thats sick - no wonder he's even more insane than ever! I loved this issue, you really outshone yourself here.

The Black Mask seen was maybe the creepiest thing I had read from you yet! Hush has been a blast to write, and to go in a different direction with. DC dropped the ball with the character, and it's nice to be beholden to what they did. It's good to be clear with him, as opposed to... well, I have no idea who Hush was by the end of it. Paul Dini polished him up all nice and proper, but still... damn you Loeb!

I loved this issue, you really outshone yourself here. Black Mask was awesome. He was. His evolution was a great thing to write, and I'm pleased it was received so well. You'll like where he's going, I think!
