Wow. Cool issue. Jason Todd continues to be absolutely awesome and I wouldn't mind if the Batman book turned into "The Dark Knight" but then they'd be all that confusion with the movie and such and that could be messy...
Onto the issue, Jason and Robin's interaction was awesome! Tim told Jason off like a pro with the whole "you were never a true sidekick" bit and Jason reacted with his awesome All Star Batmanesque retorts of swearing(I remember someone comparing him to All Star Batman in another review of a previous issue but it's such a good analogy I had to use it). And then when Jason came face to face with Wrath even for just a brief exachange...that was a moment I'd wanted since that first Red X arc!
Oh and Dick may have some traumatic memories after a dude jamming his hands into his head...talk about invading someone's personal space...jeesh. The nerve of some people...that was creepily cool though.
And the cover...very unique and I loved it. I saw next issue's cover too which is a continuation of this one and they are just really good.

Another nice issue. I love the feel of these new characters. They make me feel....icky... which is good. There's a sense of danger, confusion, creepiness through out the issue, which moves along like a high octane action movie.
Jason's reaction to the Wraith was awesome, and Tim putting him on blast like that, and Gordon putting him in his place should put Jason in his place for a bit, but somehow, i doubt that will last.
And the cover, definately Jamie's best work to date.
Bravo all around.

Wow. Cool issue. Jason Todd continues to be absolutely awesome and I wouldn't mind if the Batman book turned into "The Dark Knight" but then they'd be all that confusion with the movie and such and that could be messy... Turning the book into "The Dark Knight" is an option we've been considering, but I don't think it's one we'll take when the next phase of the Bat-books occurs. Jason Todd is a fun character to use, but I'm trying my best to balance the growing cast of heroes and villains inside the book Onto the issue, Jason and Robin's interaction was awesome! Tim told Jason off like a pro with the whole "you were never a true sidekick" bit and Jason reacted with his awesome All Star Batmanesque retorts of swearing(I remember someone comparing him to All Star Batman in another review of a previous issue but it's such a good analogy I had to use it). Yeah, I guess the analogy works, but I think it's a bit more complicated than that-- but like I said last time in the letter column, it's something that we'll be exploring at #42, I think, because we have a quiet moment before our big crossover event And then when Jason came face to face with Wrath even for just a brief exachange...that was a moment I'd wanted since that first Red X arc! Me too. And that was just a warming up act to the big showdown in a few months. Tease? Indeed. Oh and Dick may have some traumatic memories after a dude jamming his hands into his head...talk about invading someone's personal space...jeesh. The nerve of some people...that was creepily cool though. Glad you liked it. I'm writing #41 as we speak, and it's going to get awesomer, I hope. And the cover...very unique and I loved it. I saw next issue's cover too which is a continuation of this one and they are just really good. Yeah, Jamie really delivered, and the size of it? Brilliance!! ***** on story ***** on cover Thanks, Pat!

Another nice issue. I love the feel of these new characters. They make me feel....icky... which is good. There's a sense of danger, confusion, creepiness through out the issue, which moves along like a high octane action movie. I've said it before, that I'm following the Giffen Rule of Comic Books, in that it's time we started creating some villains for ourselves, and inject them into the site. I mean... we run the danger of making them a Mary Sue (a psychotic, horrifying Mary Sue? I guess, if we're terrible writers...) but the thing with that Bat-books is that characters like Flesh Monger have already appeared in Detective Comics, and others will be seen throughout the site as we proceed. Let's make some viable creations, and have a laugh doing it Jason's reaction to the Wraith was awesome, and Tim putting him on blast like that, and Gordon putting him in his place should put Jason in his place for a bit, but somehow, i doubt that will last. Yeah, I've wanted him to meet The Wrath for so long, and everything's building to something even bigger than this minor event, so we'll see how it goes for Jason versus Wrath Fight II... And the cover, definately Jamie's best work to date. Bravo all around. I'm going to agree. Thanks for taking the time!

An excellent issue with a cover that is really eye popping.
I'm loving everything Penguin here (but then Penguin has always been my favorite villain in Gotham).
But the scene that sent this shooting into the 5 star arena was the dialogue between Tim and Jason. Man that was some good stuff!!!
It felt real, honest, and compelling. Well done!!!

An excellent issue with a cover that is really eye popping. Thank you! Jamie really delivered, and this double-double-gate-fold cover is twice the brilliance of any... double... two... ok, I'm done, it's brilliant I'm loving everything Penguin here (but then Penguin has always been my favorite villain in Gotham). Yes, well the Penguin is going to play a major role in the next 12 months of Batman! It's going to rock! We're shifting the gears of the "Gotham Underground" as I've taken to calling it (after the Tieri nine-parter) and it's going to get beautifully ugly ;D But the scene that sent this shooting into the 5 star arena was the dialogue between Tim and Jason. Man that was some good stuff!!! That scene was a delight to write, and I've wanted to throw them together since they first debuted onto the site. I'm loving the Robin versus Redwing dialogue that was set up (is it bad to toot my own horn because of that? ) and I'm going to enjoy following it up... It felt real, honest, and compelling. Well done!!! Thank you Brian, it means a lot when you say things like that

Was it just me or was that Matches Malone??? I mean did everyone miss that or was that....no....no couldn't be? ?? Dude your writers are horrible people dont tease me like that! So that for me was a weird little highlight. But over all this issue and this arc is awesome. Could have been more about the wolf and the girl which is a tiny little detail that I adore. This is a title I make sure I dont miss these days and Todd is now one of my fav (if not my top fav) character on the site. ANything else I wanted to say has already been said only better

I have no idea what you're talking about, and I would in no way tell you to wait for Batman #42. Dude your writers are horrible people dont tease me like that! Yeah. We plan that far ahead. Thanks for reading, Rob!

I so love this title. Looking forward to seeing where Todd goes with some excitment and trepidation. loving where he is now and the fact it is actually in character and follows his progress as a person acuratly unlike the shock factor character that the DC proper is using these days and so Im kinda not sure whether Ill like a change. Heres hoping that Ill be pleasantly suprised as I have been so far

Well, we don't think we are, anyway... hope you enjoy the next two issues of this arc!
