Alright! Fun things happening in the Batbooks! This issue was titled: "The Calm" but it had no shortage of action and drama. Jason Todd continues to demonstrate why he is the butt-kickingest vigilante roaming the streets of Gotham--- but even he has his hands full by the end. This Gun-Moll is not to be trifled with! Poor Harvey Bullock! (Actually, I never liked the slob--- but I can't wait for Gordon's reaction.) Lots of storylines coming together, from the return of the Wrath (the "Return" of the arc's title, I presume? ), with the attendant consequences for Jason and Mickey Fynn, to Hush and Drakon's revenge and even to Dick's love life! Don't know who that cover artist is, but it's a great image of the Batboys! In fact, the covers for all of the Batbooks in recent months have been rather spectacular! Nice job Nathan, et al. Looking forward to Detective Comics next month for the continuation!

This was a set-up issue pure and simple, and most set-up issues are kind of boring but this one was done very well. Even though nothing too significant has actually happened yet, the pieces being set on the board for "The Return" were captivating and there was some colorful action for us to sink our teeth in.
I especially like the beginning, as we see that even though Bruce is dead and Dick has become Batman, things are beginning to settle. Dick can only be "replacing" Bruce for so long before it just becomes seemless and accepted that Dick is Batman, pure and simple.
Jason is awesome in the sick Freddy Kruger way.
Lastly, I hate you. Stop teasing us with Dick and Barbara! I am a huge Barbara fan, and they need to either get together now or something needs to happen because you're killing me with this suspense! Arrggghhhhh!
Good stuff. Looking forward to 'Tec next month.

Alright! Fun things happening in the Batbooks! Too true! And thank you for reading the first instalment of our multi-issue epic! This issue was titled: "The Calm" but it had no shortage of action and drama. Jason Todd continues to demonstrate why he is the butt-kickingest vigilante roaming the streets of Gotham--- but even he has his hands full by the end. Exactly. The Calm... before the inevitable storm that is coming to Gotham. And yes, Jason Todd rocks, and by the end of this arc... well. More to come. This Gun-Moll is not to be trifled with! Another one of the new villains we're introducing into the Bat-books, and you're right, she's one mean cookie. Can't wait to delve into her as the months progress. Poor Harvey Bullock! (Actually, I never liked the slob--- but I can't wait for Gordon's reaction.) Me neither... Alex? Lots of storylines coming together, from the return of the Wrath (the "Return" of the arc's title, I presume? ), with the attendant consequences for Jason and Mickey Fynn, to Hush and Drakon's revenge and even to Dick's love life! This is, in it's own way, a bit of closure to the last, what, two years of Bat-books that the DC2 has seen? Out with the old, in with the new, and it's going to be a hell of a ride to get there. I don't want to spoil anything, but look for Grant LaFleche's return to Batman very soon for something special... Don't know who that cover artist is, but it's a great image of the Batboys! In fact, the covers for all of the Batbooks in recent months have been rather spectacular! Nice job Nathan, et al. Nathan is a friend of Paul's, and is the ongoing Bat-artist! He's got a great eye, and he's doing some wonderful stuff across the board. Look out for his Salem Protocol cover, that... I need to post up. Oops. Looking forward to Detective Comics next month for the continuation! Me too... Alex?

Even though nothing too significant has actually happened yet, the pieces being set on the board for "The Return" were captivating and there was some colorful action for us to sink our teeth in. I'm wanting to lull you into a false sense of security, obviously. I especially like the beginning, as we see that even though Bruce is dead and Dick has become Batman, things are beginning to settle. Dick can only be "replacing" Bruce for so long before it just becomes seemless and accepted that Dick is Batman, pure and simple. Hmm. Jason is awesome in the sick Freddy Kruger way. Whuh...? Lastly, I hate you. Stop teasing us with Dick and Barbara! I am a huge Barbara fan, and they need to either get together now or something needs to happen because you're killing me with this suspense! Arrggghhhhh! They're best friends! What else can I say? It's not my place, regardless. Good stuff. Looking forward to 'Tec next month. -D.L. Mann Me too... Alex?

A solid issue. Not a huge fan of Wraith but I'm excited over his return for the soul reason that it's going to kick a lot of stories into overdrive. I like Harvey. Please don't hurt Harvey. Poor Dick and Babs. It's unfortunate that now that Dick is available, Babs is seeing someone else. Shall these two "friends" ever get their chance? Again, a solid opening. Great cover.

Yeah, because we crafted an entire event around the return of The Wrath-- because it's what the fans wanted! I like Harvey. Please don't hurt Harvey. Uh-oh... Poor Dick and Babs. It's unfortunate that now that Dick is available, Babs is seeing someone else. Shall these two "friends" ever get their chance? They're like Luke and Lorelai, it's terrible. I just want them to be together One day... Again, a solid opening. Great cover. Thanks, Brian!

Maybe he meant Luke and Leia...? I always thought those two would get together in the end...
