Great issue, Charlie! I've mentioned loads of times just how much I love DC2's Jason and his conversation with Bruce was fantastic. I was half expecting Jason to take up Bruce's challenge and put up a fight. But I'm kind of glad he didn't. I honestly think he would have gotten his behind handed to him by Bats. His warning though was a bit ominous...that he'll be back and that Bruce won't believe what he becomes. Hmmmmm....maybe a redheaded guy who wears a Mysterio costume...oh wait...that's DCU

Solid issue Charlie. Nice sort of period at the end of a long sentence with the return and all. One thing I have been noticing in your stuff lately though is that the characters seem to all speak like you do. The content and what they say is spot on but they have these little phrases and nuances that make them sound too similar to your own voice if that makes sense. Overall though, you've been tearing up in all your titles I have been checking out.

I've noticed that too, and while it's not a terrible thing, it's something that I'm now going to have to work on-- it's good to actually have a tangible "improvement" goal, as opposed to just "write better". "Write less like yourself" is a cool target to have-- no joke-- as I'm well aware that my tics are beginning to seep into my writing. Weird stuff, as you've not heard me talk for years, eh, Chris? I want to thank you for your kind words across the board, too, as it's brilliant to see you take some time and invest it into the DC2, and I'm sure the other writers are appreciating you taking the time too. Thanks!

Ill be honest this and 'Tec are titles I dip in and out of generally following an arc or two that peak my interest. I dont know why (I think I tend to assume itll be more time consuming that it is) but everything Ive read is superb so I dont know why Im such an idiot about it. I followed the majority since Bruce's fall missing only a few (sometimes intergral lol) issues but this seems like a great point to get stuck in again. Truly lovely issue though if Im being honest I was a little disappointed at the fact Alf tore up the resignation. While I get that its a sort of reboot, brining him back to life and giving him a fresh start and all, I still thought mixing it up with Alfred departing would be interesting and frankly a natural progression. To me it felt like one of those forced actions that you get in comic books merely to add mild drama and make a point. Didnt feel real enough but that is only a major thing. All in all fantastic though

Me neither But I'm glad you've decided to pick the title back up again, and I hope you stick around when our next writer comes onboard! I promise you, it's gonna rock!! You wait till #50, particularly-- that's a story I'm looking forward to! I followed the majority since Bruce's fall missing only a few (sometimes intergral lol) issues but this seems like a great point to get stuck in again. Yes! One of the final issues before our relaunch in May. I should probably get moving on that, actually... Don? James? Im? Truly lovely issue though if Im being honest I was a little disappointed at the fact Alf tore up the resignation. While I get that its a sort of reboot, brining him back to life and giving him a fresh start and all, I still thought mixing it up with Alfred departing would be interesting and frankly a natural progression. To me it felt like one of those forced actions that you get in comic books merely to add mild drama and make a point. Didnt feel real enough but that is only a major thing. All in all fantastic though Thanks for your kind words-- Alfred's resignation was one of the things Don and I chatted about-- I intended for him to leave originally, but Don talked me out of it-- "what's the point?" being the ultimately sane question asked. Why take away one of the best supporting characters in comics when we've only just got the best leading character back? Thing is, I didn't want Bruce's return and selfish behaviour going without comment, so Alfred deciding to leave and Bruce apologising meant a lot in my eyes. Sorry it felt fake, but I actually enjoyed writing the moment, heh.

Hmmmmm....maybe a redheaded guy who wears a Mysterio costume...oh wait...that's DCU Of course Jason wasn't going to fight Bruce-- I think the point has been proven since DC2 Nemesis: The Dark Knight that Jason is kind of over his overall hatred of the Bat-family. But of course, he has killed people, he has no qualms about killing people if the need is just, so he can't stay in Gotham. But Bruce is about redemption, I think, so he gets the chance to do something with his life, and not waste it behind bars. And what will he do? ... He'll appear in another title, coming soon...

A great issue that should stand the test of time when the reboot eventually comes around. And I hope the plans remain the same - I can't wait to see who Jason turns into, and what's in store for the big #50!

While the Batman title came to a stop with this issue, Detective Comics kept going for a while-- and there are plenty of back issues across the site to devour if you are so inclined!
I know that there are new issues of some of the older books are coming out in the next month or so, and you should check out Zatara for a great, ongoing, DC2 experience.
Not only that, but in the coming months... maybe... we have... a surprise... for everyone...
Join up, get involved, and you'll soon see! You'll ALL see!
