A beautiful issue. And a lot of mysteries to be solved. Who called the JSA for help? What happened to Dr. Fate and why did Captain Marvel think that the satellite exploded when it actually fell to earth? hmmmmmmmmm... And the backup story is really sweet, too. I normally don't like backup stories, but this one was rather good. The cover and the art was georgeous. I realized that Jessy is the only character that is still wearing the costune I designed for them, but well. Everything changes, right?

Oooo, I love it when the letters start coming in! Thanks for reading so quick--- and so closely--- Riz! A beautiful issue. And a lot of mysteries to be solved. Who called the JSA for help? What happened to Dr. Fate and why did Captain Marvel think that the satellite exploded when it actually fell to earth? hmmmmmmmmm... All very good questions... Someone or some thing seems to have a devious plan... Thanks, buddy! I have some big plans for the Young All-Stars--- that is, if they survive the spectral assault next chapter! Alex has poured a lot of time and effort into this title, and it really shows, doesn't it? I especially love the JSA Academy seal he came up with. He's good at those little touches! Ray, Bulleteer and Cyclone are still in their original costumes, I think... That's just me, leaning away from the Ultimate-approach, back towards what fans would be used to . (And while Jim Dufresne redesigned her costume to better evoke her legacy, I gotta say your original concept of Atomika was brilliant!) Thanks for reading and for the feedback, Riz! Glad you liked the kick-off to "Crisis on Two Earths!"

It was a great read, so nothing to thank for Btw, do you plan on having some ramifications on the JLL book with this story? If so, maybe we could chat about it

Ah, the multiverse; a limitless source of story potential. And now we see it hit DC2.
Nice kick-off to the arc. A mystery is afoot, and only the JSA can solve it. I love seeing more of Earth 2 (Mostly because I write there) and i'm really looking forward to seeing the two worlds collide.
The backup story was fun too. Rick and Jess are a nice couple to read and Tigress is one of those people you love to hate (She brings back memories of Heather from TDI). And Gentleman Ghost is a villain i'd love to see more of, and i'm glad he's showing up here.
Keep up what you're doing. It's great.

Mysteries aplenty! I'm no stranger to the Earth 2 idea ( ) but you kept me guessing as to what surprise the team would discover next. This is a great reversal on the traditional E1/E2 concept with the JSA being summoned by the JLA this time around (with the classic crystal ball seance no less). Not to mention the great scene at the end in Gotham. What fun seeing the JSA (and Captain Marvel!) exploring an Earth they never made. This story was a load of fun, Dave. Nicely done!

Another excellent issue, both in writing and in art. The main story was a wonderful tribute to that classic first meeting, and as Brandon said, had some wonderful and clever variations on the original meeting.
I'm totally stumped at what is going on with Captain Marvel, which if I wasn't coming back anyway, would really have me chomping at the bit to know what that is all about!
As always, the respect for these Golden Age characters is always apparent, and shines through with every word that they "speak". Great ending, as well. Gave me goosebumps.
The back-up story was, if it is possible, even more fun than the main story. A great introduction to these young heroes. Rick and Jesse are being a bit naughty, which is very much in character for them.
And Todd's story is growing, but for all the pleas I've given you about a big story for my favorite character... I'm beginning to regret what I asked for. *Gulp!*
Can't wait to see them go up against their transparent intruder!
As always, you've kept me hooked! Keep them coming!

First, i want to apologize to the community for delaying this issue. Dave has already repremanded me and locked me in the basement with only a toothpick to fend for myself/catch dinner. He also mumbled about a being of pure evil named "Brian" that lives down here and that turns into a hulking mad creature at the mention of John Byrne...
Anyway, this issue was totally fantastic. Dave does a great job building mystery and suspense as the JSA explore this new world. There are so many questions that need to be answered and sometimes when writers introduce all of these different plot points, it makes the issue seems choppy as they change from scene to scene and point to point. Not here. Dave makes this issue flow smoother than a Snoop Dogg freestyle.
I agree with Brian that the backup was almost more entertaining than the main story. I was excited when Dave first shared with me the concept Young All-Stars and he didn't dissapoint. Hopefully, it will be something showcased on it's own at some point. My favorite scene was with Obsidian. I could feel the terror...
Masterful storytelling Dave. This is something I would've paid for.
Also, thank you to everyone for the wonderful comments on my art. With every cover I feel I get better and I'm having a blast contributing to such a great story.

Ah, the multiverse; a limitless source of story potential. And now we see it hit DC2. Actually, Earth Two was briefly introduced to the DC2 in April's Flash #23, and Zero Hour has been tripping across the Multiverse for three or four issues, as well. Hopefully, you'll get a kick out of this JLA/JSA crossover, UDC! Thank you, sir! Most of the action will be on Earth Two, but this arc is called "Crisis on Two Earths" after all, so odds are, we'll see some stuff go down on Earth One, as well. Heather from TDI? I don't know the reference, but I know what you mean. I think Icicle summed it up best when he said: "She has trust issues." Artemis is the kind of person who will always assume the worst. Thank you very much, sir! And if folks like what they see of Earth Two in these pages, I hope they will schlep on over to the DC3 to check out the excellent Earth Two title Checkmate: Operation Outsiders. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks very much, Brandon! One of the things I'm having the most fun with is playing with the tropes of those great Silver Age crossovers. And, as the creator of the DC2 Earth Two concept, born out of your old notebooks and fevered imagination, I really appreciate you reading and your feedback. If I do you proud, I will consider this arc a success. Hmmm... I wonder if there is any chance of seeing some sort of involvement from Brandon in this arc...? ;D

Heather from TDI? I don't know the reference, I didn't think you would. Total Drama Island was an animated reality show that ran in 2008 (A strange concept, I know, but it still works). Heather was one of the characters; she was manipulative, insulting and generally evil, but she kept the show interesting. So she reminds me of Tigress. -UDC

Writing this is proving to be a little like re-living my childhood, but I hope I have some neat moments in store! Well, Captain Marvel has definately been targeted--- you will find out next issue by whom! Glad you liked it, Brian! As the opeing issue of the crossover, I needed more than one E2 JLAer to make an appearance--- and who better than that guy for the clencher! Kids As Jay McIntyre will tell you--- careful what you wish for! To me, Obsidian is one of those characters that simply can't fade into the background. BIG story is on the horizon for Todd (and Jade, as a matter of fact)! I think you'll like how that one works out, actually . As long as folks keep reading, I'll keep writing! Thanks very much, Brian! I appreciate the feedback!

I am very proud of the work we've done together on this title, Alex, and I wouldn't leave you behind! (Just don't make any sudden moves down there--- someone has started a rumor that John Byrne is taking over Green Arrow, and Brian has just heard... ) Thanks, Alex. "As smooth as a Snoop Dogg freestyle." I am going to use that in all of my solicits from now on. Glad you liked the back-up! It is entirely possible we will see a YAS solo title someday, depending on my workload. My first priority is to get a Hawkman title off the ground (mid-year, hopefully), and I have a few other irons in the fire ( Starfire, Warrior Princess, "Dial H" for Showcase, the Powers, Inc finale, Justice League Legacies and Crime Syndicate of Amerika for DC3--- and further out a return to Gotterdammerung (Ramon willing!) and the long-awaited launch of Superpowers International . That's the beauty of the DC2: we all work for free! Oh, wait You are an integral part of this title, my man, and you are just blowing us away! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Sorry I took so long to get to this. I did read the lead feature in a sort of summary fashion. Reading it more fully, I wonder just what, exactly, happened to the Earth 2 timeline, or if it's an illusion or what. I am also, naturally, worried about Fate.
But the backup story is what really lit me up. Nice to see Jessie being as much a bad girl as Artemis! And of course I am worried for Obsidian, too, and wonder what, exactly, is up with our "Hawkman". Or should I call him Manhawk?
And of course, I loved the Kory reference!

Reading it more fully, I wonder just what, exactly, happened to the Earth 2 timeline, or if it's an illusion or what. Thanks for reading, Jay! No deadline on reading these . Well you should be! Remember, Jim Corrigan is new to the helm and artifacts of Fate, and the foe he faced took him to school! Bad girl? Seems like perfectly natural behavior for a couple of college-aged kids ;D. You realize, of course, I have to title the next YAS installment "Call him... Northwind!" just for you, Jay! LOL! Thought you might! Thanks for the feedback, buddy!
