Hey there! Great issue!
Hmmm, I like this version of Brainiac 5, although it does somewhat feed the stereotype of 'genius = arrogant jerk'.
I wonder what is going on behind the scenes? And why do I get the feeling that we're going to meet the Time Trapper?
Can't wait for more!

Time Trapper?
Hmmm... I will not confirm, nor deny the existence of said entity (although he did appear at the very beginning of issue #0... remember that from like 9 months ago? So I guess there's a confirmation). But, is he the big-bad in this current arc? Maybe, maybe not!
Glad you liked the issue! You'll get more of Brainy's personality problem in the next issue. No comment on this issues surprise guest villain? I'm expecting the hate-mail to start any minute! You'll get more with our reluctant villain in the next issue when he comes face to face with a certain Phantom that may just change his life!
Also, kudos to Mark again for making my words make more sense, and pushing me to make this series better than it was many, many moons ago.

I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Braniac. When it comes to the Legion, he's near the bottom of my favorites. That being said, once again Scott, you were able to make me interested in a way that many writers have not been able to. In fact everything you've written about the Legion has been a wonderful breath of fresh air compared to what DC is doing. Great issue, my friend! And you don't have to convince me of your editor, I myself would be lost without that guy! OH! And take care of yourself, my man!

Fantastic issue, Scott!
From cover to the next issue blurb, this just feels like the LSH that I love (despite the fact that the Legion proper doesn't even appear in this issue--- I was at the end before I realized it) (but for those who may have been made nervous by that comment, several future Legionaires are present).
The reveal of the surprise villain caused me to make this sound: "Wha- Wha- What?!?" But it is ultra-cool to see him make his debut (but do expect the hate mail from Susan soon)!
I actually liked Brainy (and his unnamed Durlan cohort) in this. And I loved how you build him up, then casually let slip that he's 15! Very slick.
What are the Dark Circle's nefarious plans? The story is just beginning, and already I'm biting my fingernails for the next installment.
And that cover was simply beautiful. What does the Interlac say at the bottom?

Actually, I don't remember 100%... I did do the cover 8 months or so ago. I think, if memory serves, it says: "The Dark Circle Strikes!" could be attacks... Susan, I believe is fluent in Interlac, she'll know! Once she's done drafting her hate mail, she'll let us know!
But fear not, Legion lovers, all will be right with our team in the issues to come... or so I'll lead you to believe!

Nice job. Ultra Boy and Chameleon Boy are put in the fold, as well as Brainy V. I like him as a cocky uptight jerk. Gives him time to adapt to normal people and become more human, which is good. Excellent work.

Yep, it's "The Dark Circle Strikes". Give me a few seconds, and I can read any 30th century graffitti! Only one piece of hate-mail here: the story was too damn short! We just got going , and then you hit the brakes! I flipped over the handlebars and bumped my noggin, thanks to you. Good set-up, and though Jo was a villain, he was obviously mind-controlled, so I forgive him. (pats him on the head like the good boy we know he is). I must say, though, you've got a lot of Star Trek influence showing here: Querl's security code, what the original Brainiac probe did as it made its way through space, finding a shape-shifter in a test tube...do I see some points on those ears of yours? ;D

Oooh! You got me! Indeed that was the self destruct code of the Enterprise! Not only am I a Star Wars geek... but I do love me the original Star Trek as well.
Glad you enjoyed it... your opinion is the one I sweat over!

Never sweat my opinion, duder. I'm just a fangirl that likes to read good stuff -- you write for you, and don't worry about pleasing anybody specific...except your editor, they have access to the [DELETE] button. ;D

I love Querl Dox! I have never seen Brainy done better! Seeing you-know-who under the influence of the Dark Circle was a twist! Don't mess with my boy too much OK? I agree that this issue ended too quickly! I have enjoyed nearly all the versions of the LOSH but I can't remember the last time I looked forward to the next issue so much! Thanks Scott!

Wow. Just read all the Legion issues here (and will be reading some of the other DC2 titles I think, came here from a link on ComicSpace) and I must say I really like it so far!!! Can't wait for the next issue! This feels like the Legion I first grew to love, MUCH more so than the current ThreeBoot in the DCU... I LOVE that you have Blok as an early member! (any chance of Gates showing up in the future?) I've always had a soft spot for the obviously non-human Legionaires, and the background aliens... I vote for the Durlan to not adopt the 'standard humanoid' form as default. LOVED the intro of Jo! He was one of my crushes, along with Rokk in his black bustier costume. When first reading the first issue, I was thinking you were going to echo what the animated series did. I will probably post more when I am more awake...

Thanks for your kind words regarding the Legion of Super-Heroes! The DC2 30th Century adventures actually start in a Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Special entitled: VIDAR. And the events in that tie directly into Legion continuity! So if you have a chance, check it out...
