Not a great issue for me. I liked the small moments with Dick and Kory at the start of the issue, but I also felt the scene changes at the beginning were too short and sudden, making the story feel choppy and disconnected. Made it tough for me to get into the tale.
After that, I was disappointed to see more of Nocturna and Night-Thief so soon. Especially the latter. Night Thief seemed particularly dull and bland in this story, and that made his portion uninteresting to me. Nocturna's part was good, her plan not a bad one. It would have been fine as a revenge scheme down the road. I like variety in my tales, and seeing them pop right back into the picture without nary an issue between capture to escape just bothers me.
I was also sorry to see Kory be a better detective than Dick. Dick seemed really kind of lackluster here. I don't mind Kory being around, I'm a fan of their relationship (though I'm also a big fan of Dick and Barbara too), but it seems to me that she could have been used in a similar fashion in this tale, bouncing his ideas off of her, rather than her instructing Batman's former apprentice on how to be a detective and super-hero. Dick sees too much of this kind of treatment in the DCU, I'd like to see him stronger here.
Here's hoping things pick up for the next issue. There were some good attempts at the parallel storytelling technique, it just needs to be smoothed out. Nocturna's been captured pretty well character-wise, but just used too soon I feel.
The cover was great however...wonderfully drawn and one of those great covers that encapsulates the core story idea so well.
Take care Don

This was an enjoyable issue, picking up on some threads that were left over from the larger arc. Since my first year at NO was nothing but the Royal Flush Gang, I can't say much about bringing in the same villains so soon, other than it didn't bother me in the least. The story is interesting and I'm very intrigued to see how this little faux triangle plays out.
And of course it's always nice to see Kory!
The cover has to be one of the most dynamic this book has ever had - and that's saying a lot since there hasn't been a bad cover in the bunch!
Great job everyone!

Thanks, guys! I was a little unsure of using Natty and Night-Thief again so soon. But since, in the previous issues, they were often in the background due to Sloan and even Marty, I hoped it wouldn't be too much to bring them in now. Personally, I'm interested in the little "faux triangle"-- my dad, though he hadn't read an issue, had heard about Night-Thief and Nocturna. He and several other people, both who have and haven't read any issues, said "What if..." John once said, “I hope they return cause I can just imagine what Dick would do if Nocturna developed a crush on Nightwing. Let the chaos ensue!” What if... Nocturna went after Nightwing? I had to see what would happen. I agree one hundred per cent about the cover. Ramon, your cover just totally took my breath away... its awesome!

I liked this. Anton is becoming an interesting character, stepping out of the cypher-like role he had taken in the previous issues, and though I dislike their relationship (Dick/Babs: OTP!) Kory and Dick's interaction was fun. I'm going to read next month's issue, and though this wasn't as strong as your previous installments, it was a slight change of pace, and I think we deserve that after the wild ride you had us on with your last epic arc! Keep up the good work!

Nocturna, Nocturna, Nocturna. C'mon, you're a smarter femme fatale than that. You attempt to seduce the hero first; *then* let the incriminating photos be taken!
That said, Dick's in something of a bind. I'm sure he'll get out of it, but not how. Good thing Kory is as supportive as she is. And smart, too.
Nightwing vs Night-Thief is inevitable. But Nocturna better watch her back all the same!

Personally, Charlie, I prefer the Babs-Dick relationship over the Kory-Dick one, myself. I wanted to develop Anton's character a bit, since as it is, he's just Nocturna's flunky :-P The next part's been sent in to the editor! I actually got one sent in EARLY!

Yeah, I'm a Dick/Babs fan too. Actually, once I realized that the DCU2 was running with Dick/Kory, I sort of lost some of my enthusiasm. That, combined with lots of restrictions on my time and internet problems, contributed to my not being around as much as originally intended when I registered.
Still, lots and lots of great stories and artwork around here. Kudos to all involved!
