I was, of course, tickled pink by the continuity reference.
That aside, was a clever murder mystery, and above all a detective story--with our heroes using their brains.
Using Robin "publicly" like that was an especially nice touch.
Also Tim "holding court" at the party.
I also note the well done and subtle nuances of the Tim-Dick relationship here, how it is, and yet is not, like the Dick-Bruce relationship.
Food, More food in this book. Especially the sandwich and the doritos. (Was it cool ranch doritos? *slurp*) Food references are always fun, but for me they are sometimes harder to work in.

Yes, food. I think Brian once commented on the gallons of Coca Cola that Dick was consuming. And do you know that I actually hate Doritos? Detest the nasty stuff. Blech! Y'know, you're right, it is a detective story, but I don't think that any of them actually even threw a punch... mabye Batman did when he was gone, but there's no mention if I remember right. Bit of a difference from 'Black Friday Blues', eh?

This was a nice little mystery. It's fun to see the batkids use their head, rather than just their fists. I also enjoyed the allusions to Sherlock Holmes.

The old ice-block trick... classic detective msytery stuff. This issue reminded slightly of the way Paul Dini writes Batman. A quick one-shot that has a story and a plot, but is focused through the interactions of the main characters, Dick and Tim.
I liked that Tim had to go to that party with Dick. It was a nice little nuance touch and a great moment for Dick to have the role-reversal in his life where he forces a youngster to go to the dinner party, instead of being forced. Ah, growing up....
Overall, stellar job! I like Tim stories and hope to see him grow even more into his role as Robin.

Thanks! Hey, even the slightest good similarity/comparison to Paul Dini isn't bad... :-D Haha, yeah, I gotta kick outta the dinner thing myself, lol. And I like reading Tim stories, though I just started writing them... enjoying it, though. Glad you enjoyed... thanks for your feedback!

late on this one as well, and I apologize. As much as I was a bit off set by the last issue, this one MORE than made up for it. Great mystery, AWESOME characterization, and beautiful cover made for my favorite of the week... err... last week. There wasn't a beat out of place with this story. Keep up the great work! But is Nightwing coming back...

I actually went to the comic book store a coupla days before Christmas and picked up my first NW comics just so I could read something with him in it again... lol. I know, I'm pathetic. :-P
