I never took Steel for a Talking Heads fan but that line made me laugh out loud. The bit with Booster Gold and the Incredibles was priceless

That was fun! You guys are twisted... I love it! Will Powers Inc. survive the IXE??? Just when you thought the Crisis was over, we get it from another perspective!
Anyway, my favorite moment (aside from that kick-ass cover):
Airwave confessional: Women can’t resist the Jordan charm, I tell you. It’s like I’m just… Releasing some kind of pheremone, you know? I’m just speculating, but it could be one of my new powers… Not that I HAVE new powers, but wouldn’t it be cool to have one like that? She can’t resist.
You have no idea just what the Jordan charm can do and to whom... yet!
I think it would have been appropriate for Booster to say: OK, so if you don't think a hood is cool, what do you think of collars?

This was my favorite issue of this title to date. Just the right mix of funny (hilarious, really) action and real human character development (Harry is the quickly becoming a favorite of mine--- even though Booster steals the show whenever he opens his mouth). I think Powers, Inc. just grew up before our eyes!
Plus, we get a glimpse of a larger history (loved the reference to Dr. Hate and his Legions of Hatred).
The confessionals were laugh out-loud funny. Especially Airwave's and Boosters.
Tied for best lines (and this was tough)---
Booster: "Whatever, they all have the same cheese!"
Prysm: Hold the pickles and save the world from total annhilation, that simple...
Kinda says it all, huh?
BTW, why are the people of Atlantis referred to as Atlantic people? At first I thought it was a typo, but it is repeated a number of times...
Nice to see Aquaman, too, but he seemed a bit--- unhelpful. Appropriate for the DCU Orin, but the DC2 version is considerably less stand-offish!

ha thanks, those lines are both mine. the atlantis thing i don't know though. I am almost definitely sure i did it but i probably did it when it was really late and i was just making sure stuff was spell checked.
yeah, i did mention to charlie i thought i wrote him with a trident up his... ya know, but I think its more like he doesn't want to get into it. plus he has a beard so...

Sweet, I'm glad you approve! The colors really wouldn't be as good without your awesome inks. BTW, Ramon you did an excellent job of dressing it.

I have no idea how to respond to this issue. There is so much I could talk about that I wouldn't know where to begin. I understand that this is advertised as a humor type story but I don't think this is a the case. Hidden just below the surface is truly great character fiction. I won't say who it reminds me of but I truly great character fiction! Everyone involved did a great job with this tale (well 2 out of 3 did ). There is a fine balance here between smart and silly and I dig that! The only small issue I have is the double scene where Booster apologies to Power Girl. Go back and look and you will see what I am talking about. I can't wait for next week.

thanks for that, i fixed it just now. I appreciate the compliment even though I know who you are comparing me too and I have to remind you each time that its not the case! As far as it being humor or character fic, you gotta keep in mind we are trying to keep this in the tone of the Justice League International era pretty heavily by now (especially with us using their villain) so I like to think its a combination. I guess don't take "advertising" seriously so I guess it can be said we advertise it that way. Oh and there was a problem with your post you said 2 out of 3 did but in fact only 1 out of 3 did and his first name doesn't start with a c.

For the record, I'm not emulating the JLI era of comics, I'm just writing what makes me laugh... And most of it gets cut... But really, rightly so

its not in that tone? okay, i speak for myself only on that last post of mine. and it gets cut because that "dry" wit of yours looses me chuck.

Great job, uh, whoever wrote this. Always funny and character driven. I found myself hurrying through the action scenes to get back to the dialogue. There were, however, quite a few typos so I will now list them all in order. Oh shoot. I lost my list. Oh well, forget that. But just know that you should be ashamed for being lazy fan ficcers. Yes indeedy. And it was fun to see Aquaman poking his head above water again in another title. It was impressive the way he firmly held his trident. But he did seem a little intimidated by the living island and that didn't really seem like the Arthur I know. Maybe he just didn't feel like punching on an island. Or, it WASN'T the Aquaman I know. Let's see, he's sorta aloof to the clear and present danger on hand, he seems to think people from Atlantis are called "Atlantics", and is just generally off. Hmm. Wait! Could this be some sort of imposter? Oh-ho! That truly IS a twist. Have we seen a different seaman at work here? Could it be Joe Aquaman from Kurt Busiek's current run at DC? Or is it something even more unexpected and dastardly? Quite a cunning twist there, fellas. Well played Team Powers. I will be interested to see where (and more likely, IF) you cunning creative folk take this sly little sub-plot next! Again, nicely done. A very entertaining read topped with an eye-catching cover by truly talented artists. Good work!

Great Job guys this was a really fun read. I love this concept of the heroes being a reality show. I think of all the members my fav is Power Girl and it's not for the "obvious" Reasons you think.

Great job on this, guys! I have to admit that I was a bit shocked that Aquaman didn't lend a hand, but the confrontation with the island was excellent. Characters were spot on. Other then the afore mentioned typo's, this was an excellent read.

brian and roy thank you. brandon, did you ever think that this indeed wasnt the aquaman that you know? maybe its an aquaman from another earth? an earth where she might have ties to him like in that whole post crisis origin of powergirl... think about it... maybe there is some kind of parrallel parrallel universe with a whole different underwater culture in a dc2 multiverse! or not, just not ruling it out.

Anyone like watching the deleted scenes on DVDs? Well, here is a deleted scene from this issue. It was cut due to length and Ramon's lack of vision. The song winded down and the team passed around the cake. Oberon walked around feverishly searching for something. Steel was the one to finally ask, "What are you looking for?" "The ice cream." He answered. "We didn’t get any" Steel replied as though it were no big deal. "What?" Oberon inquired, "can you do that ? Isn’t there some kind of law? That's just un-American. Patriot indeed!" Steel looked confused, "I mean...I don't...um...is everything okay Oberon?" "It's fine." Oberon replied and left his cake on the table uneaten. Oberon Confessional: "What? What's wrong with wanting a little ice cream? Steel was acting like I was asking for... for eyeballs... Or something like that, you know? It's only ice cream, and it's... it's her birthday, you know? I know he was raised as a patriot, you know? But what does that even mean? Meat and potatoes for dinner, meat and potatoes for dessert? I dunno. But come on, it's ice cream!" Steel Confessional: "Oberon was pretty upset that we didn’t get ice cream with the cake. But come on it was an ice cream cake. I mean I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy myself, so I don't know what the big deal is..." Several moments later it's time to open presents. Power Girl goes first. Prism takes her present and opens it. "Oh my God a new costume!" She holds it up in front of her to see what it looks like. "I love it! Thank you P.G!" Next Looker gives her, her present and the rest of the team follows suit. Booster Gold is last. "You are gonna love this!" Booster said as he handed her a professionally wrapped box. Prism goes about opening the wrapper. Booster is so excited he can barley contain himself. Prism smiles somewhat uncomfortably at Booster's enthusiasm. She finally gets it open and reads the label on the package. Before she can even read it aloud Booster blurts it out. "Booster Gold shower products!!" He exclaims with pride as though from hi atop Mt. Everest. The rest of the team just looked at him with blank stares. Airwave dropped his head into his hands in a defeated manner. "WHAT?!" Booster replied not understanding their problem. Booster Gold confessional: What is their deal? We all have endorsement deals. Airwave has that stupid satellite radio thing, psshh like that's ever gonna take off. Now shower products, that's always gonna be around. Why would people stop taking showers? Certainly not cause they're too busy listening to satellite radio. Booster Gold shower products, a shower as golden as the day is long. That's what I'm--what? Why does everyone giggle every time I say that?! I just--what? Wait--no really, get out. Hmmm. Well that's just disgusting.

i think you can clearly see why i cut this, yes? it's not clever, it's not important, it's not in the issue.

I amm not complaining that it was cut. No big deal. Just thought it was funnny so i posted it. By the way if anyone is thinking of writing something with Ramon, get out while you can, run, run hard and fast til you pass out. Oh well tomato, tomato...hmm that does'nt work in print does it?
