This is my penultimate issue. I'll be off after this, leaving the book in the capable hands of David Charlton (revealed in last week's PLANET DC2 column!) and I'll... Maybe... Maybe I'll go on a cruise. Around the world. To celebrate my final issue. But then again... Maybe I'll do some homework, maybe I'll try and finish Action Comics, maybe I'll concentrate on all the projects that I've got upcoming. And there are quite a few. This issue, for those of you not in the know, is #6. I made a warning some time ago, that you will have to be familiar with The Question Quarterly #1-3 to understand the closing chapters of this arc. I wasn't lying. Things get crazy, and things gets tough, but things... Do not get undecipherable. If you are familiar with the stuff I've written before, then you will get this. Then again you might. It's not continuity heavy... I know some of you haven't read The Question Quarterly (not saying you shouldn't, because, by all means, you blooming well should!) but I didn't want this story to be simple. It's not simple, not by a long shot. We've got villains, we've got heroes, we've got villains turning into heroes, heroes turning into villains, we've got secret agents, conspiracies, and we've got, at the centre of it all... The Question. This is one of the bloodiest, dirtiest, grimiest stories I've written. And I love it. Enjoy.

Great cover, Roy! As always, you are a true master. I have to admit that I enjoyed this issue much more then the other two. Of course, there is a lot more explination in this one, as well. Although not as much of my two favorite agents. bummer! This was taught with thrills and chills, and it's heading towards a pretty huge ending, from what I gather. I'm very glad I stuck around for the ride. Poor Vic. I really felt sorry for him at the end. Talk about two steps back.

This was more of a character driven story in my opinion, the story moving along more with dialogue (it's been a while since I wrote a dialogue issue!) than mucho exposition, but I think that a lot of what I was trying to do with the story worked well in that style.
Next issue the £$%^ hits the fan...
Oh wait.
It hasn't already?
Thanks for the kind words Brian. Yeah, less DEO Agents. But next issue... King who?

Well, since I was asked I checked this issue out. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. There certainly was a lot going on that was a little hard to follow at times but I was able to figure most of it as the story went along. This was a cool character driven issue which I never tire of reading. And man there was a lot of cool characters here. Bug! Now is this the Bug that was in Steel in the 90's or was this the one from Tec? Clevenger & Nodell are fun in small doses so this was a good thing here. Just what the hell is going on in Operations Lab #1? Something is weird and I am waiting to see what the rest of the story is here. Vapor was a surprise as well as Dr. Moon who appeared in an issue of the original DC Suicide Squad BTW. Nice mention of his government work in the DC2. I fear that the government is involved in too many shady dealings that may come back to haunt them someday. Then you bring in Dabney Donovan who I admit took me a few minutes to remember that he was the dude that cloned Lex back in the 90's when the Superman books rocked hard! You bring in Gunfire and the line about cutting his hands off was creepy cool! Finally Echo appears and is gonna kill Vic? I take it this is the Greg Rucka Echo not the Terri Eckhart one? You manged to test my DC continuity to its limits and entertain at the same time. This was a well written tale with a lot of a dialogue, which I never thought was your strongest ability, but it worked here. I will be back to check out your finale Charlie and maybe you will reveal the bigger picture that seems just out of focus right now.

Let's see if I can cover all the bases here: I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. There certainly was a lot going on that was a little hard to follow at times but I was able to figure most of it as the story went along. Always one of my weaknesses... Bug is an OC, and there are some big plans for him in the future of the DC2... Yeah, I totally understand. But don't tell Ramon (luckily he doesn't comment on The Question )! But let's say it like this: I don't want to blow my DEO wad in this issue. Next issue on the other hand... We have the whole caboodle, and rightly so. You'll love it. I hope! Major Operations Lab 1! I love that place. Blown up by a nuke, twenty nine people dead, and the body count is still ever so slowly rising! But the MOL... One more issue left of my run! You haven't seen the last of that KERAYZEE place! Vapor... Next issue. Big things happen. Big things that'll roll out and over into Powers, Inc, I promise. Dr Moon! Creepy guy. I imagine him as this grotesque little man, like an extreme version of the Penguin, but with a penchant for torture. Dr Moon, if you remember, appeared in JLU... Little bit of an outer universe continuity for you... And I loved writing that "head on a desk" monologue. Dabney Donovan! More on him next issue and rolling over into Action Comics! Gunfire! Bottom of the barrel, but still... Everyone has to have their day in the Sun. Ha, yeah, Rucka's Echo. I loved her in NML, and you'll see more of her next issue, and... Elsewhere prior to the IXXE! You didn't think I could pull of a dialogue heavy issue? Damn See you in two weeks!

Since I was asked to ever so nicely I decided to check this out. I admit I'm not really a fan of the Question because he doesn't interest me AT ALL! But i came into this issue with an open mind and zero knowledge of what has happened in past issues.
This was one hell of an issue.
Charlie, as I follow Geoff Johns and Ed Brubraker from book to book, I will now follow you. Your writing style is addictive. Looking forward to reading previous issues of the Question and whatever upcoming projects you have.

I advice you to read all my stuff. ... ... But seriously... thanks for the compliments. But... He... He doesn't interest you? Then that makes leaving with #7 so much easier...

Okay, things are starting to make a little more sense. Not a lot of sense, just a little. Oh, and since you name-dropped him, Jonah has a comment for Vic:
Yuh got a lot of guts, son. Not a lot of brains, mind yuh, but a lot of guts. Nice knowin' yuh.
From him, that's high praise. Relish it. ;D

Well this is the best issue of the Question I've read yet. It's all a little through the looking glass crazy, but I love it.
I loved the Watchmen reference, and you're no doubt aware that Rorschach is merely a stand in for Moore's take on The Question, but he wasn't allowed to use it. That kind of reference might be have been cheesy, but it wasn't and I laughed out loud when I read it.

As always, awesome man. Great writing, great surprises. Rorschach making a "guest" appearance in a unusual way was just awesome. I love it. I have to see the conclusion!

Why does no one ever mention Mr A? Love that guy.
The conclusion...
... Is... Will be... Arriving... Sometime... Soon... I hope!
WITH INTERIOR ART!
Yay.
