Wow, very neat The writing style was really great all the way through, very moody and appropriate. I might not be as up on the mythology as I should be so there are parts that i don't quite get, but for the most part it all flows along easily. Some nice creepy moments, some fun little jokes, and all-around a lot of fun to read

First: Wasn't the Question dead?
Okay, besides that, I liked this issue. Didn't loved it, mind you. Good writing, right mood, but I felt this more like a prologue than issue 1.
Of course, since I trust you Charlie, I'll be back here for issue 2. And I'm expecting something better.

Next on my list of to reads, and I was very tickeled to see the man with the cool no face back in action. The entire scene where he comes back is bloody brilliant, and I actually loved the line that the city embraced him with open arms. Very poetic.
Although I will have to admit that I would kind of like to know how Charles crawled away from deaths door, myself.
The covers were more than outstanding. Excellent job all the way around.
5 stars!

Oh, you've made me happy, I was worried this wasn't going to go down that well, but you've made my day The point of this two part miniseries is to reestablish The Question in the DC2. That's the mission statement. Make Hub City a living character and make Charles Szasz viable. Your comments make me feel like I'm on my way to doing that. Again, thanks a lot This was a blast to write. #2 is being worked on as we speak! Don't know when it's going to come out (heh) but it's getting worked on none the less!

First: Wasn't the Question dead? Um, well, yes. All will be revealed in the second of my two planned miniseries. "The Hub" is the first, and *tentatively* "The Spiral" is the second. We'll see how well received this one is before I even GET to talking about the second. Okay, besides that, I liked this issue. Didn't loved it, mind you. Good writing, right mood, but I felt this more like a prologue than issue 1. I'm glad you liked it! Shame you didn't love it, but what the heck, glad you had some emotional response to it. Like is good. I can work with like. Interesting tid-bit, this was #8 and part of #9 of The Question combined. Thought I better not commit to doing an ongoing right now with my situation, so they combined. Toyed with going Quarterly again, but miniseries are fun little minievents in unto themselves. Of course, since I trust you Charlie, I'll be back here for issue 2. Well, here's me thinking if you like it, you should come back, not because of some misguided placement of trust And I'm expecting something better. Yikes. I'll bite. OwO[/quote]

I was really proud of that, and running on pure intravenous self aware Charlie. Although I will have to admit that I would kind of like to know how Charles crawled away from deaths door, myself. The Spiral! As in, Downward... The covers were more than outstanding. Excellent job all the way around. Thanks Brian I'm proud to call Ramon and Craig good friends.

Very well written, and it brings up the question (No pun intended) of how Vic's back in action. I also like the comparison to The Hub, and Gotham. Can't wait for next issue. Seriously dude, I expect spoilers next time I talk to ya on msn. 5 stars

Next time you see him, after this mini, is in a book not written by me. Promises promises...

This was an okay story. Moody writing that kind of got too murky and was written perhaps a little too shard-like? It came across as unfocused to me, and some of the elements worked into the story kind of fell flat for me where the Question is concerned. I have different views on the character, so some of the metaphysics brought in jarred with me. There are different characters that do different kinds of stories, and weird, metaphysical occultism is your thing for sure, but I'd like to see something different done between series. This seemed more like your Doctor Occult story with a different person put into place, rather than a Question story.
Good luck with issue two, here's hoping it works better for me. Then again, other people liked this issue, so maybe it should be more of the same, and leave me in the minority where I belong. LOL ;D

This was an okay story. Moody writing that kind of got too murky and was written perhaps a little too shard-like? Could you define "shard-like"? I have an idea, but I'd just like to be sure, heh. It came across as unfocused to me, and some of the elements worked into the story kind of fell flat for me where the Question is concerned. Sorry! I have different views on the character, so some of the metaphysics brought in jarred with me. I'm not sure what you mean by metaphysics... If you mean the city welcoming him back, I don't know, I think that was more his interpretation of being home again, and that feeling of familiarity? A city doesn't literally open it's arms to someone... Unless they're Jack Hawksmoor... There are different characters that do different kinds of stories, and weird, metaphysical occultism is your thing for sure, but I'd like to see something different done between series. This seemed more like your Doctor Occult story with a different person put into place, rather than a Question story. Not making excuses, just telling it how it is: It's hard to cold start a book again. I left The Question in a terrible place. You know. Death. And getting him back was always going to be ridiculous. I knew how I was going to do it, but working up the enthusiasm meant disregarding a story I had already written with him, and just getting him back into circulation again. I'm going to try and go for noir next issue. I'll try my best... Good luck with issue two, here's hoping it works better for me. Then again, other people liked this issue, so maybe it should be more of the same, and leave me in the minority where I belong. LOL ;D Your opinion always matters to me Don, no matter what! Thanks for taking the time to catch up!

Very nicely done, Charlie! Perhaps your best written piece to-date (though I'm not caught up on Doctor Occult yet, and I keep hearing good things about that).
The issue is mostly set-up, but I think it sets the tone perfectly, dragging us back to the Hub, introducing some major players, and creating a neat antithetical confrontation for next issue. Lots of great character moments--- Vic has become quite a familiar voice, and one it's nice to have back.
The Answer is a very creepy foe. Can't wait to see him square off against the Question.
And what a pait of covers...! Fine work from two of the best in our biz!
Five stars! Looking forward to #2!

I've learned my lesson: Never read an issue of "The Question" expecting to get answers. It's right there in the title, man!
I'm anxious to find out how Vic came back from the dead myself. I remember us discussing the topic quite a while back, Charlie, and am curiuos to see what you came up with. I have a feeling Nanda Parbat will figure in with his ressurection.
This issue was a lovely jump-in point for everyone, I think. Can't wait for more!
