Surely one of the best covers I've seen on the site and one of the damn best stories I've read! Everything is amazing, and you've added much to the Deadshot/Deathstroke DC2 mythology in just one issue! Deathstroke is a ruthless son of a bitch (like we didnt already know that ) and Deadshot has a death wish! Sucide Squad at it's best, and it's not even in the ongoing book! Bravo John!

I have to say when John sent this to me and I read through it the first time, my jaw hit the floor, not once, but twice! Charlie is right on the money with this story. There is a nice piece of DC2 continuity in this story that you don't want to miss!

Nice. I knew this was going to be a good issue and it did not disappoint. Plus, you threw in Calculator. I barely know anything about him, but I like him. Good stuff!

First I agree that this is one of the coolest covers ever! Thanks to Ramon for doing this long before the story was beyond the idea stage. Thanks to Brian for putting up with one of the hardest story's it was for me to write! Charlie- Thanks for the kind words. I wanted to add a little something to the D&D relationship that doesn't exist in the regular DCU. I knew this tale wouldn't fit into the ongoing Squad book, plus it might give some exposure to the book and maybe a few curious folk might wander on over to the title... Zoom- Thanks but just as an FYI, the country of Bogatago is indeed a made-up country but not by me. Like Qurac, it is an established DC universe country. Anyone know where it was first mentioned? arcalian- Will Rose become the Ravager? Interesting idea... ultimatedc- For more Calculator check out the Suicide Squad issues 4-6 and then come back at the end of the month for the SS annual #1 where....well it will be fun, I promise!

I haven't been a regular reader of Suicide Squad, but this definitely piqued my interest to check it out.
Damn entertaining story, pitting two master assassins against each other. Since I'm not up to speed with many of these characters in the regular DCU this was totally new to me. I'm almost ashamed to admit this is the first time I've ever read a Deadshot tale.
But I can tell you I like Floyd already. The crazy characters are always the most fun (and I find the most fun to write) and Floyd is the kinda guy I love to read about.
The showdown between the two had an almost gunslinger feel with a modern spin. Great story, hope these two meet again.

Floyd is one of my favorites, and John has done some great stuff with him over in Suicide Squad. I highly recommend it!
Also check out Gail Simone's "Secret Six" mini series. It has even more Lawton goodness.
And John, thank you for a great story!

I read this @ fanfiction.net so I'm probably a little behind the curve here but I found that Deadshot and Deathstroke were written much the same. Obviously Deathstroke is deadlier (with our without a weapon), we all know that and John didn't dissapoint but the way that they talked, fought and considered each other and the rest of the world felt and read the same way where as Deathstroke and Deadshot are nothing like one another. It was an unwanted distraction from an otherwise great read.

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply Moonwing. You are never too far behind for that. I am sure that everyone here appreciates when a reader gives feedback. I sure do!
Very interesting insight concerning Deadshot and Deathstroke being portrayed too similar to each other. At first I immediately disagreed. But on second glance (the story was done a while back) I could see where you could get that.
I would be curious to see what examples you could give during the story that made you think that specifically.
I think there are some differences in the characters that are subtle.
Slade is a cocky bastard who is angered easy and who chooses to intimidate and bully others to get what he wants and needs.
Floyd just doesn't give a crap. He doesn't care what others think or do. He isn't suicidal but doesn't care if he lives or dies. He does what he has to to get by.
There are a lot of things that are similar in both characters. Smart, they both can fight dirty when they have to, both have their own 'code of honor' even though both have different values.
Thanks again for the insight and feedback. I never much look forward to your thoughts on any and everything else you check out.
