Nice job, Chief and K-Drag! There was something about this issue that made it impossible to dislike; there was a certain charm about it that is essential to any Captain Marvel story, and it's a relief to see the title in good hands. I love how you guys have picked up on the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew vibe that Aaron and I established early on, and you seem ready to take it to the next level: kinda like watching the Harry Potter kids growing up! I think it's pretty obvious where you're going with Adrianna Thomas, and since you beat me to the punch here, I'm going to reveal a secret: I was going to use her in JSA in a subplot that would reveal her to be the re-incarnation of Hawkman's Chay-Ara! So you guys better do a better job with her than I would have! It'll be interesting to see where you go with Mr. Longshadow and his mysterious master--- and I have a guess who that might be!--- so I will be back next issue! Great first effort! Oh, two more things: you're prologue doesn't jibe precisely with DC2 continuity (see Immortal Legend of Hawkman #0 and All-Star Comics #1 to see what I mean), though it's nothing crazy; and Caesar must die a horrible, grisly (crunchy?) death to avoid any future appearances in any DC2 titles ;D Great cover, too, Chief! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

This had some really great moments, and over all, a very pleasant feel to it. I loved the opening (although Dave is right, it doesn't quite jibe - but Superboy Prime can take care of that ) Characterization was pretty good, and I'm really liking the continuing relationship between the three principle characters. Ceaser worked at the Starfish Casino and Hotel?! So that's who Dinah was complaining had his hands all over her, and here I thought it was Eel! Nice job, and a fantastic cover! I'll definately be back next month!

Thanks Dave and Brian for your kind words. We're extremely grateful for your praises and we hope to continue to be worthy of them. We would like to thank Mark Bowers for the chance to write this series. We also want to thank him for his editing job. The 'Chief bows before him in appreciation. And Dave...sorry to say that Caesar's curtain call won't be happening...just yet. There is more to Caesar, which we hope to explore just little bit. So no crunchy death for him...but maybe for someone else. And Brian, I think if Caesar was touching Dinah in that manner he would have an arrow in his rear. ;D Maybe one day I will complete that story that involves that origin of Caesar, sort of prequel to Action Comics #15. But check out in two weeks Rogue Gallery #8 for a tie-in to this storyline. Thank you all, Mischief & KrystaleDragon

I really couldn't get into this issue. I tried. Twice. And it just didn't work for me. I just wasn't interested in it, and couldn't dispense with that to truly involve myself with the story. Maybe it's just because I've gradually come to dislike the DC2 Captain Marvel, but this story just didn't work in my eyes. Plus you're using Caesar again, and that... That is a mistake ... I'll pick up #8 (again...) in a bit, see if I can delve into that, but right now, it looks like Shazam! is off my reading list. Sorry! (And like I said to Daniel in the GL board, if you ever get bored, pick up my new Wonder Woman issues )

Are... Dey?
I don't like how Mary isn't his sister. It throws up some weird stuff, because no matter how I'm reading it, it just... It's weird. Heh.
Also, I want Tawky Tawny.
Please.

A fresh take on these characters is always interesting, and lets writers flex creative muscles they might otherwise by slavish sticking to what the comic books have done. Frankly, the changes to Mary's character are interesting. I want to see where it goes.
Also, if I am not mistaken, in the comics, isn't Billy not initially aware he has a sister, and only finds out long after he becomes Capt. Marvel.

Well hank you Charlie for trying to give it another chance. And only you and the Dragon know my plans for Caesar. Now guys(Dave and Charlie) there will be no fighting in the Shazam! letter page...while not till we get the betting pool open first. Thanks for the vote of confidence, CapeandCowl. Check out Rogues Gallery #8, Shazam! #8, Rogues Gallery #9 for the rest of the story. Thanks again Mischief

I don't read Shazam anywhere, but this caught my attention cause Chief and Drag are my friends.
I really like the characters...
Although the fictional use of Hatshepsut bothered me a lot, because she was used historically inaccurately. I know it's a short story, but her reign was from:
Reign 1479–1458 BC, 18th Dynasty.... Ancient Egypt is one of my hobbies as a child.
However,... guys, this clearly is the best writing I've seen and read from you all... and I will definitely be keeping up with the progress of your run..
The cover is awesome. Simple but iconclastic.
Over all rating from me ****

Thanks for checking us out.
The Ancient Eygpt timeline is Mischief's fault. I kept getting confused on those dynasties or Mischief can blame it on Wikipedia.
We really tried to do alot of research while working on this opening storyline.
Thank you for reading our opening issue. See you first in Rogues Gallery #7.
