An interesting origin tale of the Enchantress, and how she came into her power. She's an interesting figure, and the dark turn of events is intriguing. I liked the tortured June Moone who had to resist the evil of the Enchantress, rather than this version who decides to give it in. She's weak and pathetic, and it makes me kind of glad that the Enchantress pretty much stomps her out as a result.
I'd say poor Mitch, but I never cared for Resurrection Man, so really...I could care less that he's being turned into a puppet. LOL
It was good. Quiet and implying some truly dangerous stuff for the future of the Squad.
Take care Don

Well, the progression (degression?) from resistance to acceptance on June's part is, to my mind, a chain that flows reasonably well. Enchantress herself would point out that she did nothing like stamp out June; just the opposite in fact. And that story is not over. Anybody who knows me knows I won't be content to leave it there.....though there are other things to do first.

First off, Enchantress is one of my favorite characters of this book, so I was a bit apprehensive about the way you were going to approach this. Silly me, I don't know why I was worried.
This was a chilling tale that was well thought out and filled with some excellent character development. Poor June, a truly tragic figure. A woman who is so desperate for love, that she is willing to step into the abyss to have what she has so long desired.
Of course, the fact that you tied this into the history of the DC2 tapestry and the Apokolips Crisis, tickled me to death! Add to that, a very haunting and extremely well done cover by Roy and you've got another awesome issue by a great creative staff!
I am, however, anxiously awaiting the next big adventure for the entire team.
Well done, everyone!

Ok. I took your advice from the dc3 board and came over to check out The Squad. I read issues 0 and 19. Ok, Enchantress, I get-that works for me. I'm hoping to see Mitch break free-I still kinda like him. Vixen, Terra. Not really sure who all the members of the squad are. Maybe a roll call at the start of issues would help. So, I like what is going on-completely different from what I would do as Lissilambe can attest to. I'll be around. Jay

Hello Jay, I am also Jay, the current writer of this title. There is an additional Jay here also, Jay Zirron. Must be a DC thing, heh.
Wow, if I was gonna have someone start on Squad, I'm not sure # 19 would be the one I'd choose. A lot of member roster stuff happened between # 0 and #19, and next issue will start a crossover with another title.
As for Enchantress/June/Mitch, be assured that story is just beginning.
Roll calls have been posted here in the past, and perhaps the need will arise soon again.
Look forward to having you around!

Of course a lot has happened between issues 0 and 19. Issue 19 was the second spotlight issue on June Moone (the first being #8) and the rest of the Squad took a backseat here. Jay has done a fantastic job adding another layer to both the Enchantress and June Moone. But have no fear, the Squad is back in action next issue when a special 4-part crossover begins as the other Jay already hinted at! As for the roll call, it will return next issue but didn't seem necessary for this issue. I am aware that this isn't the Squad as you would do it, as a matter of fact, I recall seeing your Squad series on the Ultimate DC site awhile back. But sadly it seems as though the site is no longer available? If you get a chance, let us know what you think of the rest of the series or anything else here that catches your eye. The DC2 is loaded with quality stories with over two years worth of back issues to dive into.

This issue and issue 8 were my absolute favourites. You and John made June such a likable but tragic character. I feel sorry fir her and am happy for her at the same time. Can't wait to read how her story continues. Very well done.

Thanks again, Riz! As you've no doubt guessed, the story of Enchantress and June will continue to be important as time goes on.
But this month starts a big crossover!
