Well this issue pushed every fun button I have! It's more than apparent that both Jay and John have spent a lot of time and care to bring these characters to life, and each month it shows.
The main story gives me the chills and is very reminiscent of one of my all time favorite novels: "The Stand". I'm not quite sure how they're going to get this genie back in the bottle, but I can't wait to find out.
Mark Shaw is becoming a true leader, and I like that! And the whole June/Enchantress sub-plot is building very nicely. That story alone keeps me coming back for more! Great job, Jay.
The back up story was just as great and continued the rock solid quality of the main story. In fact, the two blended so well, that had it not been stated, I'm not sure I could have figured out who wrote what. Both being seemless.
My favorite part had to be the confrontation between The Wall and Deadshot. After all, its not every day you get to sit down with the man who shot you in the head. Some VERY interesting twists to all of that.
and of course I was really thrilled to see so much of the DC2 (both past and present) being used here. The mention of Luthor's business going to Fero and now to Ross was nice. John's use of the first Crisis shows that the ripples have yet to stop.
And the COVER! What an amazing piece of work. Sent a cold chill up my spine!
Excellent work was done by all. 5 stars!

Alright, so I know this is a complete 28 Days Later homage. So I come into it with a degree of scepticism (28DL is one of my favourite films ever. A superb British offering that you don't normally get nowadays), but this read so fluidly, it was short, snappy, and I don't think it skimped on anything it didn't have to. Jay, I liked your repetition of "From the outside it looked like more of a fortress than a base, which was appropriate.", and thought it worked wonderfully with the sense of foreboding you were setting up. Yes, you're rewriting Resident Evil and a plethora of other zombie films but with the Suicide Squad as the protagonists, but surprisingly enough, I enjoyed it. Also loved the continuity nods to the ongoign Detective Comics arc, and John, your final back up was really cool, thanks for sharing it. I think we both know where that thread with that guy is going to be picked up in...
Four stars, Jay, and one of your better Suicide Squad issues, sir!

An excellent story, Jay. I think you did an excellent job with the way it was written, in short, snappy bursts, cutting off suddenly to move the time-frame forward. It really helped to push the sense of spreading disaster and impending catastrophe, and the reactions of the characters to messing with bio-ware and infectious invasion was great, and helped again to push the sense of the ominous. Well done.
The back-up was okay. I liked it well enough, and serves to move several sub-plots forward. I like Waller's response to the (still-to-be-seen), Squad/Batman throwdown and it seemed quite sensible to me. Being a Deadshot fan, having him bedevil Batman again has me excited. A little-used member of the Bat's rogues gallery (little-used AS a Bat-villain that is, where he really belongs and has lots of promise, I feel), I like the set-up there.
Take care Don
