Very awesome Brian. Great first issue, introducing the kids and getting the story off to a start right away. Great pacing and characterization.

Very awesome Brian. Great first issue, introducing the kids and getting the story off to a start right away. Great pacing and characterization. Thanks Chris. I've got big things planned for these kids, with Connor and Cassie coming up first. In fact if you are as big a fan of what is going on in the Superman titles as I am, there's going to be some major shockers coming that will effect that end of the DC2 Universe as well.

I love me some Doctor Xadu-- well, to be honest, I enjoy all Kryptonian characters that aren't Superman. I love how we get to see a side of Krypton that Superman can't possibly exhibit, so the end excited me to no end (and I can't wait to get to my Xadu-related issue of Action Comics, either ). Nice to see that this title is going in a distinctly different direction than the original series (I'm not a big fan of major, unnecessary retreads) and I love the mysteries that are being laid down so early on (and to see threads picked up from the "prologues" too!). Lot of promise here, and Brian, if anyone can deliver on them it will be you. My one problem: Ouch. I didn't like that. Took me straight out of it. I'm not a massive fan of "topical" references, or " untopical" as the case may be (to be fair, Britney Spears is a terrible actress, but a reference like that would have been better served-- if you were going to use one-- referencing her in How I Met Your Mother or something. Something more up-to-date). A minor thing, it took me a second of thinking "Huh" before I could continue reading, but still a thing I don't like. All-in-all, a good issue, with one flaw that's a personal preference of my mine, and one with a lot of promise. I'll be back next issue!

I am quite sure that you will do a better job with these characters than DC did.

After reading this, it made me want to do some sketching. Here is a quick sketch inspired by this story...

The cover is now up for those interested and readers of the story. I can't apologize enough for being so late in trying to do Brian's work the proper respect with a cover on this issue. I have a huge amount of respect for this guy and hope this makes up a little for the tardy artwork. He has been awesome working with in scheming to finally get this next generation of heroes into place on the site and it is always a pleasure and an honor. You're the best, B! I hope everyone gives the title a second look and gives the next issue a peek to get in on this fun ride.

I just want to thank you Brandon for this. I'd wait forever to get a cover from you. And a special thank you for all your help and advice while preparing to get this series off the ground. You are an excellent artist, a true professional, and a great human being. It's always an honor to have your work showcased in one of my stories. Thank YOU!

An excellent first issue, well done brian!! Love the way you write these characters, loved the scene with ma watching conner fly off...
Loved the action, and cant wait to find out what happens next!
The team needs more girls to keep wondergirl company!
I love the connor and cassie relationships, reminds me of a tender first crush, and you captured the character of cassie perfectly, head strong to a fault, and obviously in denial about superboy.
Top notch first issue
And amazing cover by brandon, well worth the wait!!!
