Nicely done, man. Very high tension, very strong emotion. Reading everyone's responses to the disaster was interesting and I'm looking forward tomseeing the fallout from this and how it affects everyone. Really well done issue.

Really well done issue. -UDC Very glad you liked it, Scott. As I've mentioned before, the events of this issue (continuing from the cliffhanger of the last) are pivotal to the history of the JSA on the DC2niverse. This issue may represent my most decompressed writing (not a style I favor) as most of the action herein takes place within a span of just a few minutes, but the fallout will reverberate in the lives of these characters for a long time to come. Thanks for reading, and for the feedback!

Wow.i don't know quite where to start.i am not ashamed to admit I may have shed a tear at this story.not ideal when on a train journey! Wow! Sorry, Jamie! I don't think of myself as a writer of deep emotional content (totally a reflection of my shallow personality )--- I write adventure stories with hopefully compelling characters--- so to get feedback like this on a story of necessarily dramamtic import is gratifying. Thank you for reading it--- for giving me a reason to write it. And for that insanely cool cover! JSAers writhing in the very breath of the Dragon! Badass! MUAH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!-HA! Thanks for the feedback, sir!

Very tense and tragic issue, (Ma Hunkel especially). The Dragon King isn't pulling any punches and really delivered a stomach punch to the JSA. Caps leadership really shone at the end of this issue, rallying the troops. It's something I don't really associate with the character, maybe because of his alter ego, but it really stood out for me. Guess that's the wisdom of Solomon for ya!
Fantastic work as always Dave. Looking forward to the next issue.

MINOR SPOILERS AHOY! Very tense and tragic issue, (Ma Hunkel especially). The Dragon King isn't pulling any punches and really delivered a stomach punch to the JSA. Glad you thought so, Alex; this was just the reaction I was shooting for, obviously. This is a rough business the JSA is in, and it doesn't come without casualties--- collateral and otherwise. Sadly, that little garden memorial of Valhalla is getting more crowded. Yep. Exactly right! Cap's a criminally underused character in the DC (and DC2) universe, and when he is used, it's usually botched. Not that I don't botch it, but still... This is a character with such potential! Thank you, sir! And thanks for the feedback!

Two things. One: Holy shit. Ho. Lee. Shit. Two: DC2's CAPTAIN MARVEL... done right? Yeah, I'm more than happy to say that, I loathed Mischief's Shazam! run. Awful. But this... this... you've done right by me, Dave. More feedback to come tomorrow, sir

I loved the intensity of this issue! Everything ratcheted up quite slowly at first, surprising considering the chaos, but I was invested in every single moment-- I wanted to know what was happening to all my favourite characters! To be completely honest I could care less about half the Young All-Stars, I just don't care at all, but there were some who shone, such as Norda-- his fiery emergence from the ruined house was harrowing-- and Obsidian being as bad ass and as loyal as ever... good times.
I think that this little mini-event will be good for the title quite simply because it might tighten up the ranks of the JSA. I love big ol' group books, but the cast here is becoming dangerously unwieldy, and while you're dealing with each character with care and skill, I just find myself thinking that the emotional “focus” is lost half the time.
It’s like you’re counting on our familiarity with the characters to tide us over instead of fully committing to making us care again… I understand why, this is going to be a big, bombastic event, but I don’t care about Icicle, I don’t care about Jade right now, they’re coming across as boring, quite two-dimensional characters; you’re also repeating the nice “calm” moments between your Golden Agers, where they’re reminiscing and being cute and quaint before going whole hog into something bit. I want you to king of buck your usual habit of that cutesy-cutesy-SLAP IN THE FACE and approach these scenes different… also, I want the group to be smaller for you to bring the full brunt of your writing prowess to the fore! I know you can do it!
The rallying scene at the end was brilliant. Just fantastic. I love me a united front and you delivered it with panache. The tension was high throughout and the damage impossibly high to all involved. I worry about David Knight, I worry about Alan, I’m just worried all round.
Like I said earlier, my one complaint is the size of the cast. I read it and I can’t remember the list of the wounded other than those I’m immediately familiar with as characters outside of the DC2. Too much going on! My brain! Woe!
ALL that said, still a great issue, four stars for the whole team! Jamie, your cover made my eyes explode due to the awesomeness. Never have people on fire looked so horrible and effective-- and I'm a fan of the bloody Human Torch!

Two things. One: Holy shit. Ho. Lee. Shit. Sorta the exact reaction I was shooting for... Well, let's just say the Big Red Cheese has had a very uneven run on Earth-One. I loved plotting his own series (with Aaron Martel) when it first launched ages ago, and I've been having fun using him in this title (he's been around since the first issue!), but this will be the first time I've played with the junior Marvels. Hope you like what I have in store! I loved the intensity of this issue! Everything ratcheted up quite slowly at first, surprising considering the chaos, but I was invested in every single moment-- I wanted to know what was happening to all my favourite characters! To be completely honest I could care less about half the Young All-Stars, I just don't care at all, but there were some who shone, such as Norda-- his fiery emergence from the ruined house was harrowing-- and Obsidian being as bad ass and as loyal as ever... good times. I've had that image of Norda, on fire and arcing across the sky, in my head for ages. It was very cathartic to finally get it out. Obsidian is a favorite of mine, too. I often find myself thinking of materiel for a solo series for him--- but I think that for most of my characters . Alas, that there are not more hours in the day! I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes, I wish I could put out 30 page issues, giving these characters the attention they deserve (and usually demand), but I doubt any of my readers would (or should!) tolerate that amount of indulgence . The perils of a large cast. I think this is valid criticism. I'm very careful to keep tabs on the various characters, but sometimes issues can go by without a character even getting a line. This arc will be a bit different, as it's a smaller team that heads into Badhnesia--- well, smaller by JSA standards. Honestly, it was never intended to get quite so out-of-control. The Young All-Stars were supposed to branch out into their own title (or, in the very least, some back-ups), but I never could find the time to make that happen, and as I love them too much to put them on a shelf, I folded them back into this book--- the Justice Smorgasboard of America ;D. Hnh! I wasn't aware I was doing that, but now that you mention it, I suppose it does tend to be a recurring motif... But old people reminisce, what do you expect? Well, as a matter of fact, there is something coming that will indeed make the JSA a smaller team... Jamie and I have had this one in our back pocket for a long time now, and can't wait to roll it out. Glad you liked it. The team had just been given a pretty bad bloody nose--- maybe their bloodiest. Seemed natural to put Cap there and then with some words of Solomonic wisdom. Two characters who will never be the same after this . Ha! You? I had to keep a graph! Jamie just nailed it with this cover. He's been on a hot streak lately, and half the fun I have writing this title is working with him. Thanks for reading, Charlie, and for the thoughtful and thorough feedback .

You haven't lost your touch, David. Good job. Why thank you, mysterious new member... May I ask what you've read of mine previously? Much of your writing here I've had the privilege to read. I'm sad that Brian's New Outsiders isn't on-going any longer. :-(
