A thoroughly enjoyable issue. The pre-date scene was nice, building the relationship between Yolanda and Hayley. The scene where the girls (and Justin ) are planning their quest was just as good. This was a brilliant world building, setting up shop issue, and I liked the hints at the Crimson Avenger's Gotham adventure, a story I know has been playing on your mind, Don! The villainous moments were just that, and foreboding to boot, and from your solicits I can see you've got a passion for what's going on that translates to the page. Count Vertigo's return was not expected, and Ollie's shock and anger at the discovery was great. Sir Justin and Sir Bruce's confrontation was great, a lot of enmity between them without the need of the 'narrator' to 'TELL', rather than the characters 'SHOW' it instead, and it was all the more effective for it. See you next month (or whenever you get your next issue out, you speedy bastard!)

Fantastic work all around, as always. Witchazel is an absolute standout, what a ridiculous awesome energy. The kind of villain you can never predict, and I'm looking forward to more of her. Sir Breuse of course, and the entire adventure with Bradamante (although now it's killing me that having actually read some of her stories, I can't remember the name of the poor knight she rescued so many times XD).
The first scene was absolutely sweet, as was Travis meeting with Esther, a lot of great mystery and quiet buildup that I love so much about this title. There's not a single scene anywhere without plenty of emotion and that keeps everything engaging.

I'm so far behind in commenting on this series that's it's criminal! I keep saying I'll catch up, but new issues come faster than my ability to get my act together, so I'm just going to jump in here!
Thoroughly enjoyed this issue! A worthy entry in what is consistently one of the best-written and -plotted books of the DC2. It boggles my mind how many disparate storylines (or are they?) Don juggles in this book, and yet somehow keeps it all connected. These characters are so well-written and scripted that they challenge the comic-bookiness of it all.
Gimmick continues to steal the show in every scene, but Witchazel is going to give her a run for her money (maybe she go against our "Two Broke Sorceresses" Traci Thirteen and Amy Winston--- that would be a fun fight!); her entrance into the restaurant was right out of Tarantino!
Sparkling, razor-sharp writing in this issue, most effectively on display in the Shining Knight/Brenda scenes, the intriguing lost Gotham adventure of the Crimson Avenger, and the fantastic chemistry between Ollie and Yolanda. Can't wait to see what happens next for these folks!
But my favorite things about this issue: Beth Chapel doing a consult (Jamie Rimmer, check it out!), and Frederic Vaux making his mysterious moustache-twirling debut (damn you, Walsh, for beating me to him! But I'm glad he's in good hands--- and now I get to read and enjoy his story, so actually, this is a win or me after all)!
What can I say about that Joe Jarin cover? How about: fierce, muscular, dynamic comic art! This is a confident, superbly-drawn image that makes me want to read the story. Nice job!

Thanks for coming by and reading, and then commenting, guys. It's great to be back at the wheel for these folks, the Soldiers are just so much fun, and I get to indulge in some high-falutin' literary stuff too. LOL Where else can you do that but in superhero stories? Good to see such great interest in the Crimson Avenger mystery, because it really starts to heat up in another issue or two and then hits a peak at SSV #22 when Susan has a special story scripted called Red Shift. Answers are going to be forthcoming at last, with some major shakeups to come for all involved, believe me. And glad the Gimmick/La Garra scene struck a good chord too. They just seem to blend well as sisters, and since they're both single kids (as far as Pat knows ) then it's nice to let them have family. The essence of the Law's Legionnaires, after all. And it was so awesome of Dave to let Skyman consult with Beth Chapel. I love those little bits of connectivity in a shared universe, where everything does have to long drawn out multi-chapter affairs. Sometimes, you just need a doctor to step in for a moment. And Witchazel...well, she's got a lot of story ahead of her, and I think she'd be perfect for Two Broke Sorceresses. I think I see a mini-series coming up on the horizon, one I'm eager to collaborate on! And it's a relief that Vaux's appearance is approved of. I love this guy's design and power and motivation, and getting to use him is just awesome. More Sir Bruce coming up when he joins the Five Fingers, and more chemistry for Ollie and Yolanda as they go on the rampage, so see everyone back in three weeks, I hope! Take care Don
