Currently I have to say I'm barely reading anything by dc right now. The new 52 just isn't for me. Most of the characters I grew up with and love either no longer exist or are basically unrecognizable. I was enjoying earth 2 despite it not being THE earth 2, but with the new writer is kinda sounding like a bat book. And this is why I love dc2. We can still tell tales of wally and donna; of jade and todd, of cass and steph. I am finding myself becoming more of a marvel zombie and am really enjoying several of their titles right now-some of which have taken me completely by surprise -particularly avengers arena. Also massively enjoying young avengers, its just gorgeous. Also fearless defenders and I really enjoyed the first issue of mighty avengers. I guess I am the voice of the opposition here as well, lol. I like the New 52 and it was actually my impetus for getting back into reading comics on a regular basis again. When I collected years ago, I was exclusively Marvel, Image, and 2000 A.D. Magazine. I had started reading graphic novels from DC and wanted to get back into collecting, but felt overwhelmed, but the New 52 gave me the chance to start fresh. I actually like the way things are being handled with the exception of some of the missing characters like Cass and Steph.
DC2 is awesome because it gives me the chance to write comics which has been a lifelong dream of mine and in one of the richest universes to boot!

I finally got my external HD unlocked and am now current with New 52. Lots of reading ahead of me with that, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Moore's Promethea, and Morrison's The Invisibles.

Thanks, Don. I will definitely take you up on your offer should an online heroes game rise again.
Cheers,

Charlie: I will definitely PM you!
Fantomas: I am game, just keep in mind that digital art is an alien language to me. PM me with the gist of what you are looking for and I will see what I can do to accommodate you.

The way you handled the "super-memory" reminds me of how Moore handled Dr. Manhatten in Watchmen. Multi-dimensional existence, memory, etc. has always fascinated me, but I agree with you that things like that (and Superman, lol) are very difficult to write in a way that translates coherently to an audience. I am looking forward to seeing more of your writing in general, Fantomas.
Charlie: The thing I have always had difficulty with as far as conceiving to write about Superman (I have never written anything with him in it) is how to not make him come off as campy without turning him into a genocidal maniac. Superman is an anachronism, especially in our society, but he is an anachronism the human psyche needs on a profound level. Superman is the embodiment of hope and that is phenomenally difficult to write. I may have to give a crack at it at a later date once I get me feet a bit wetter, lol!

Fantastic work! I was impressed at how well the divergent timelines were handled and how you wove them into a single consistent whole. Very well done! Looking forward to more!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I just finished reading "Arkham Asylum: Living Hell". That limited is utterly fantastic and I suggest it to anyone who has not taken the opportunity to read it yet. I am trying to get ahold of the Demon Knights series, new Stormwatch, and catch up on Justice League Dark. As I said in my previous post, I am way behind, lol!

I have never done cover art and have no skill with digital interface, however, if you would like, I could submit something hand-drawn and inked. I can add color of you wish, but I admit the coloring tools I have at my disposal would not be able to produce the "slick" look that a computer pallet can. Let me know if you are interested. I have been working with the principles of Dali and Mortenson lately (i.e. surreal landscapes and odd angles), so if nothng else, I can pretty much guarantee the cover will be interesting to look at, lol.

Indeed. You could always schedule it for a New Year's gimmick. It could be called "New Year's Infamy" or something like that. Just a thought...

That sounds fantastic, Don! Congratulations! I followed the link in this thread, but Drive-thru says the title is not available. Granted, I am on mobile and it is wonky at the best of times. I will check on my laptop when I get home from work. If your book is still not showing up, you may want to check the link. While I own Mutants and Masterminds, I have not had the opportunity to play it. No one local to me that I have found are into hero games. The last one I played was Champions about 22 years ago and I totally miss it. Best of luck to you and your continued literary and gaming success!

Thank you all for the welcome and the encouragement! I will indeed be doing a Jason Blood/Etrigan title should my pitch be accepted. I am an old school role-player offlne, but am just getting my feet wet with it online. So far, it has been a blast!
I am very much looking forward to participating. Thanks again!

I am in the process of catching up...alot, lol! I had been downloading titles from New 52 and storing them on my external hard drive, but my external decided to lock me out. So, the last Bat-titles I read was Court of Owls and Hush (I know they are old, but I am getting them from the library, lol). I am looking forward to reading the "Forever Evil" storyline that is currently running.

Hello all! My name is Ben and I write for such characters as Erra Kurido, Doctor Hex, Lucifer Draven-DNR, and Jason Blood-Etrigan in role-plays on Facebook. I have been a writer for about 25 years and have had my poetry and non-fiction published. My love of comics and weird fiction has been lifelong and those are the genres I most enjoy writing in. If there are any titles in need of writers, I am happy to give it a whirl. I would also enjoy writng a Jason Blood-Etrigan the Demon title. I have a number of ideas and directions that I do not believe have been explored with the character before that I have begun to touch on on my Facebook page dedicated to him. I am really open to anything as I enjoy writing in this genre and I am also very willing to collaborate with other writers. Jason Blood/Etrigan the Demon on Facebook
If you like what I do, give me a shot. If you would like more writing samples, I am happy to provide them. Cheers!
