Once again, I envy you... But I thought that it was kind of anticlimatic. I understand what happened, but I wanted action! lol, not that what you presented was bad, it was just different... But it worked just fine. I read it as if it were a long montage, and to tell you the truth... This was the best Batman story I've read for a long time.

So what Dick did to Hush wasn't action enought for you? I'm really glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for the feedback.

I take back what I said about a lack of action... You've just crafted one of the best Batman stories known to me, with equal parts character (Something that has been poorly lacking in recent stories), action (and not over the top, unnecessary action) and STORY (something that has, in all seriousness, yes, has been lacking from certain attempts at Batman in recent years)

Thank-you kindly! Just to be clear, this could not have been anywhere near as good if my beta, Charlene Edwards, hadn't been able to help me with her knowledge of legal procedures and DCU history and continuity.

Why doesn't Ms Edwards get something posted up here? It'd be fun to see how your style compare...?

Ok, go ahead and laugh at me, but there were actually a couple of times that I started to tear up a bit. And very rarely does a story do that to me. An amazing finish to a rare find...an awesome Batman story from beginning to end. Thank you for one of the best rides this nearly thirty year comic vetran has ever had.

Well, I'm gonna stun you too, 'cause I got teary-eyed at the visitor scenes near the end, especially Cassie (the whole, "Okay, now you talk" thing). Of course, I seem to get weepy at the drop of a hat lately when reading stuff. I'm a pansy! ;D You mentioned there might be room for a sequel. If so, you know I'll be there!

Still stunned! And glad you enjoyed. If a sequel happens, it probably won't as long as I'm writing NW. I don't want to have too many deadlines to meet or I'll start missing them...

I'm so late in reading this...XD
I have to agree--this is probably the best Batman story I've read. The ending actually made me feel all teary-eyed...ah, I must not cry! Especially the part about Bruce leaving--in his mind, anyway--like he abandoned everyone and himself...but it wasn't absolutely sad and set in stone in the end either, there was hope and everything and that was the clincher. So bravo and brava, I clap my hands for you and this lovely story!

Nightwing and Batman are my 2 favourite characters of DC, and I have NEVER read such a moving, precise fanfic that actually makes me believe I'm reading a comic...or something better. If we do comparisons of writers in the DCU, I'd say you were the Grant Morrison of Batman. Great job, and an exalt.

I would say she was more the Mark Waid of the DC2. I dunno why, but I don't see her as the Grant Morrison...

Thanks, Apprentice! I'm honored.
HoM, same!
(Mind you, when I mentioned something similar to Gail, she suggested I should be the best "me" of the DC2 instead...)

Gail who? I'm nosy...
I suppose Mark Waid would fit as well. And Gail Simone.

If you read her Action run... remember Schuman, the elderly reporter? I started a thread on the DC boards letting her know that if she needed background info on Orthodox Judaism, I might be able to help out. She started AIMing me. In her final issue, Schuman's wife, Esther is named after me. (That's my Hebrew name.)

Heh, what I meant was, Ellen, could you give the www.dc2universe.com link to Gail, and tell her to have a look at all our work? I just confused myself with my writing before I thunk thing I do. I understand if she wouldn't, but wouldn't it be COOL if she did? And what I meant by the fantasticness rant was the fact that EVERYONE here (bar some hurt greek somewhere) writes FANTASTICALLY and all I do is write... Crayzay... Or to some such level of madness. I confuse myself...

You're kidding, right? Your writing out-trumps mine at every turn! Everyone here, I must say, both artists and writers, has large amounts of talent.

Actually, she can't. DC actively discourages its writers from reading fanfiction. I've heard it's even in their contracts that they're not allowed. I think DC is just concerned about a lawsuit should something fan-created inadvertently end up under one of their writer's bylines.
