While there are moments in this issue that border on campy, I thought it was great. Never before has a phone been used as such an effective weapon! Darn fine job...and that was definitely not the ending I was expecting! BTW Ramon, Charlie, Brandon...you guys made me laugh so hard my face hurts! ;D

BTW, loved the impromptu scene youu sketched out--- why aren't you on the Powers, Inc. team? actually to be on team powers, one must fill out a lengthy application created by a very lonely welcsh boy and then have a very intense interview in a dark room with a man somewhere in the midwest that looks like he's a welsch boy very adult man and finally go through a rigourous training session where ones wit and laziness are tested to the brink and only then will one join a very elite club known as Team Powers... and you need to be fitted for a members only jacket... One of my best friends is Welsh. I know how to handle 'em. ...can I pick the color of the jacket? Because I want a red one. And I can't wait for the next issue. Hopefully Hawkgirl will show up.

So many cool things going on here. The scene with Batman and Atom was great! You may hate the little guy but I can tell he is growing on you alittle isn't he? Ivo was portrayed here as a classic villain of the silver age which may border on camp but that makes it all the more fun! Underestimating Batman was a mistake and seeing Aquaman call on an old friend was just plain bad-ass! Godzilla and Mr. Roboto! Too frickin' funny! And the surprise appearance at the end leads me to believe that the league may be adding more then one new member to it's already growing ranks! Awesome work Dave! You never disappoint!

Underestimating Batman was a mistake and seeing Aquaman call on an old friend was just plain bad-ass! I hear that, Romans. Aquaman: (Yelling at Ivo as he's getting carted off by the cops) Yeah, you're goin' to jail, man! You shouldn't have underestimated me, Jack! I RULE THREE-QUARTERS OF THIS PLANET, MOTHERTRUCKER! (Hal, Barry, and Ray burst out laughing in the background) YOU DO NOT WANT TO MESS WITH ME!
Ivo: Hey screw you, Fishface!
Aquaman: Oh yeah. Fishface. That's real original, pal! You should be glad my wife isn't here! She'd really let you have it, punk!
Ivo: (struggling) I'm not afraid of you or your woman, Little Mermaid!
Aquaman: Bring it, punk! I'll beat you like your mama should've a long time ago!
Hal: Is somebody taping this? This is great! We can put it on a DVD! "Justice League's Wackiest Home Videos"!

"A League of his Own" was a great pair of issues to launch the "Justice League" in the DC2 Universe. A relative newcomer to this site, I was looking forward to the "Justice League" in particular as I read the initial issues leading up to "The Apokolips Imperative." Seeing the Big Seven come together for such an epic battle was incredible, but I was waiting to see them interact in a manner similar to this--while they might not be "super friends" quite yet, they are now colleagues. Mr. Charlton has an impressive grasp of their different personalities and the dialogue is witty and refreshing. The action was impressive without dominating the issues.
Amazo was an excellent villain for this initial run; amusingly, I consider that the title refers to him as well as the indomitable Dark Knight, who demonstrated his resolve and cunning. I enjoyed the fact that his fellow Leaguers never lost faith that a mere mortal could rescue them, while Dr. Ivo foolishly underestimated the Bat! However, you did not over-exaggerate Batman's abilities or preparedness; Dr. Palmer's timely intervention was necessary to save the day.
While I had hoped for a slightly longer period in which the founding members could operate on their own and expand on their relationships, this was still an excellent set of issues that lays the groundwork for more great stories in the future.
