Great story! And I like the way we're meshing our continuities, here! I really hope you haven't killed off Babs, though. Dick'll be ticked off in a couple months when he heads to Vegas!

Glad you enjoyed it, that means a lot! I actually had a different back story between Babs and Joker, but once I read your Nightwing, I changed it to fit in with what had already gone down. I do believe in continuity as much as possible. Boy that would be sad if Dick shows up and there's no Barbara! Guess we'll have to see what happens next month. Personally, I don't want a ticked off Nightwing running around Vegas. Thanks again! And thank you Ramon for an awesome cover! The more I studied it the more I realized how much of the story it really does tell! Excellent work! Great detail on the cards!

I'm loving this run, second issue in. It's the first book I pick up on 'team week' because of the sheer greatness of the storytelling. Brava, Brian. Can't wait for the next issue!

Enjoyed the issue, although I was amazed that Barbara, after all the trouble she caused the last time she went after The Joker alone, went and made the same mistake again. I guess some people never learn.
Great cover.

Didn't you know, Ellen? Nightwing takes place BEFORE New Outsiders... We'll all see I guess. And by the looks of John Elbe's signature... There's an Oracle about...

No mistakes? I find it's not about the spelling or punctuation but the enjoyment of the issue (although I'll definitely be back to my nitpicky ways for the next issue, mainly because I'm editing it).

Ok, HUGE apology is needed.
It was just pointed out to me that the title and credits were not given. My fault entirely and I apologize for that. The title is called "Nothing Beats a Royal Flush". The cover was masterfully done by Ramon and of it was edited by David. So to both of you I apologize and thank you both for your time and talent.

Well...
That was very intense! The end scene where Babs thought back to her earlier torture by the Joker actually made me squirm in my seat. I loved Zee's reaction to the uncomfrotable air surrounding Huntress & BC. I probably would have reacted the same... or maybe grabbed a bag of popcorn & prepared for the sparks to fly! I actually see why Babs would have wanted to face her fear alone... problem is, the Joker is so unpredictable she should have known better. A very good issue with a great cover!
There were a few grammatical errors peppered here & there, but they weren't distracting.
Oh, and kudos to the fact that even though it is a mature audiences book, you didn't feel the need to drop an 'F-bomb'... but that scene at the end... *shudders*... I still know why it was mature themed. Hopefully this is not the beginning of Barbara's Oracle career.

I want to join in the chorus of praise for this issue--- you just keep getting better and better! I am impressed and proud. I also want to say, as I hand over the editorial reins to Mark, that is was a pleasure working with Brian on this title, and that together they will make New Outsiders the title to watch in the DC2!

8.5/10! This was a very solid issue.
At first, I wasn't sure I'd like this storyline. I've never been one for "super powered weapons" and "laser shooting eyes", but I've been able to look past those things and found that I really like this story. Every sentence, and every word kept me hooked on! I love the fight scenes, they are so well written and it's like having actual art in the inside of the book!
Batgirl, oh the trouble she gets herself into. I think it's wonderful that she is getting a lead role in this book, I've been needing a fixin' of Babs as Batgirl! The only thing I hope for her is, that she doesn't turn into Oracle yet. I mean, it's all set up. Batgirl, the Joker, and she's between a rock and a hard place. I don't feel like Batgirl has been around the DC2 long enough. I'd like to see more of her before/if she turns into Oracle.
The cover was awesome, loving the art more and more. Zatanna's underwear like piece wouldn't be my choice but, who am I to complain? Keep up the good work on both the writing and the art!

Wow! Thanks to all of you for such nice comments. They are truly appreciated. Boy, everyone seems to be really worried about Batgirl for some reason. Maybe I better put that wheelchair back in the closet for a little longer. ;D
Cheshire, if your not into energy eyebeams and that sort, hang in there. After this arc ends, we start focusing on the characters more and It's going to be very interesting. You'll laugh, you'll cry, it'll be better then Cats. (I hope)
Latern Lad, if I made you shudder then I guess I did something right. I have to give credit to dragonbat for some of that. It was her Nightwing #1 that inspired me to do it.
Idle, your words mean a lot. I will always strive to make this the type of book that you began. And if I can achieve that, then your prescense will always be here. I will miss working with you and trust me when I say that Mark and I are already working on much more fun for these six hero's.
Thanks again everyone.

Man that flashback made my day! Not that I enjoy Joker torturing Batgirl but it's finally an explanation to what the hell happened in the Bat Family to break them all up. Also I love the excruciating cliffhanger with the shot and also the tension in the Group. Also I suspect that Vigilante will save Babs and will somehow be convinced because of it to stay on the team, but I hope it's not Barbara being crippled. I like Oracle but between Oraacle and Batgirl I'd choose Batgirl any day.
Looking forward to the next issue! ;D

I figure we'll get Oracle someday, but with DC2 only being 4 months old, getting Babs in that wheelchair so soon feels like a mistake. However, if that is the outcome next month, then I won't object -- it's your story, I'm just along for the ride.
That being said, I enjoyed this installment more than last month's. Reckon I just had an off-week last time. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Hope! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The torture scene was not easy to write, but I thought it helped add an extra layer of why Barbara needed to strike out on her own...not that she really needed it. Susan: I'm glad you enjoyed this issue more. I promise to keep trying if you promise to keep reading. I appreciate all feedback that you give! ...and again with the Batgirl concerns. Well folks, I'd like to tell you all to just relax and sit back...I know what I'm doing, LOL, but I'd probably be lying.

Wow, this should be a comic book! I must admit that I get a little lost sometimes as to who's doing what to whom, that I have to re-read it but that's just me. I can' t imagine trying to write all those characters and keep everyone where they're supposed to be and not dropping the ball on one. Not to mention keeping all the personalities straight. Way to go Starlord!

Thanks goldk! Glad you like it, and I have found that it can get a little hairy writing six hero's and five to six villians all fighting at the same time. As for keeping the different characters straight...I hear their voices in my head...talking to me...all night...(don't tell anyone) Seriously though, thanks for the nice words.

Wow! Good issue I hyave to admit I thought we had a dirty dibny on our hands(as I've seen Ramon refer to as)but the Joker managed to hold himself back.Good job with the rest of the story too! Babs just can't help but get shot by the Joker no matter what universe she is.

Another amazing issue. I loved the Joker/Babs flashback, and the attention paid to continuity. After all, if we keep it all meshed like this, then we won't need a CRISIS to retcon anything...
