In all honesty, I didn't enjoy it that much. I'm glad Red Tornado was introduced, but the story with him just had a bunch of action and then it just ended quickly. The other part was the relationship between Ollie and Dinah, which stepped forward about an inch.
To sum it up briefly, the writing was good, but the story had a few kinks that needed working out.

I liked it B. I would have liked to have heard more about where Dinah has been, but I am sure thats coming. I also have a funny feling that Hollywood ending won't go down without some major bumps in the road. Plus year two for the Outsiders looks like it will have them trying to fly under the police radar which is always fun.

Another great issue, Brian, and a terrific introduction of the DC2's newest superstar! Can't wait to see how that developes--- a new "love interest" for Barbara, perhaps ? It was nice to see Jefferson again, too. Nice bit of character development, there! The party at the casino was pretty cool--- only it was missing the DC2's #1 hip-hop sensation, Buck Fiddy (who is, of course, like three times cooler than 50 Cent)! Thankfully, Dr. Charlton was there...! Favorite moment (among many): Barry Manilow using Celine Dion as a human sheild. Priceless. Lastly, we may have a small continuity error: Oliver Queen mentions Ma Hunkel, an honorary member of the JSA during WWII, and Dinah acts like she doesn't know who that is. Dinah's mom was a member of the JSA, so presumably Dinah would be familiar with Ma. Perhaps, we could retcon the comment to Helena, with Dinah making the explanation...? All-in-all, an extremely readable issue, and a nice change from the heavy, epic stuff we've done recently in the Crisis! Can't wait to see where this title goes One Year Earlier, next month!

Sorry you didn't enjoy it that much ultimatedc. Although I'm surprised that you thought Ollie and Dinah's relationship didn't move forward much. I kind of thought the their ending was a pretty big step! Chris, Dinah's missing time will be explored in the coming year, and glad you enjoyed it. Dave, thanks for reading it and glad you were pleased with our newest arrivel. He'll be sticking around for just a little while before he goes off to greener pastures. Never that about Buck, but did want to make sure that the Doc and Jefferson were there. I really felt that since Jeff was there at the beginning, he deserved to be there for the celebration. As for Dinah and Ma Hunkel, nope that was all written intentionaly. Makes you wonder though, don't it? And I did try to make this annual very light, compared to what had been going on recently and what is ahead for the team. Cause folks... things are going to get a whole lot darker for many of them. Thanks all for taking the time to read it.

I always knew Manilow's a wuss.
I liked this issue, though I like 'em all. I thought a LOT of things happened here that merit further explanation in future issues.
Black Canary's year away.
Vigilante's going public, and how will that affect his relationship with Huntress.
Red Tornado/Batgirl's relationship, and will Nightwing be jealous.
The Ollie/Dinah "thing" and will it actually come to pass.
The NO going "underground".
This had the feel of a "reset" button to get us ready for NO Year Two. As always great characterizations and humor and I, for one, look forward to next issue to see where you're taking us.

Something doesn't smell right. An awesome story Brian, best of the week for me (as we've yet to see Powers, Inc #7 ) and full of everything I've enjoyed from your run so far. And a mystery in the back of my head.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you both enjoyed it. And if something doesn't smell right, Charlie, that's probably me. I had Chilli for supper. But you're both right, things have been set up here for future story's. What Dinah went through on Apokolips is pretty major and will be effecting her for a very long time to come.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it that much ultimatedc. Although I'm surprised that you thought Ollie and Dinah's relationship didn't move forward much. I kind of thought the their ending was a pretty big step! In retrospect, it was pretty good. It just felt a little rushed. I mean, here's what I saw happen: RT: I'm going to kill this gangster. NO: You shouldn't. That guy who built you is just as evil. RT: You're right. I'll kill them both! NO: How about you kil neither because it's right? RT: Okay. Next scene! The way I saw it, RT's part of the story was just build to the last scene where Dinah proposes and that just came and went pretty quickly. I'd probably like the whole thing better if there was some backstory to where Dinah's been and what led her to the decision (which is good, because you said that was gonna happen). Also, it would be good if you wrote a spotlight on RT. I'd like to see what's mulling about in his robo-head. Again, it was well written but the plot and the flow had some kinks to work out. -UDC

This is great! Thank you very much for explaining what parts worked and didn't for you. I appreciate that. There was purposely a lot here that I left out. The stuff with Dinah will be explained in the next three to four months of NO. Hang in there with me and I promise you a pay-off. As for RT, that too I was a bit ambiguous on. There were several reasons that I chose that. First, I want to develop him through time. Second, our EIC was very kind to let his actual origin appear here. A huge thank you for that, David! But I will let the cat out of the bag with this one and state that this character is also not a permanent fixture in this group. There are plans for him elsewhere. For that reason my plan is to only develop him so far before he leaves. Giving the next writer the chance to fully explore him more. But RT will be around for a bit, and develop all kinds of relationships. Also, I want to thank GOLDK for such an awesome cover. I have been very honored to work with some awesome artist on this title and Roy's work is incredible to me. Thank you Roy!

Very good cover work, Roy! All the gals looked extra-pretty for the party. Heck, even Adrian appeared to be enjoying himself! ;D The Red Tornado thing did seemed rushed, but what stuck out most for me (and no one has mentioned so far) is that Zatanna is nowhere to be found! I know it's been a year, and things change, but where'd she go? And does her absence have anything to do with her long-lost daddy?

I'm not a regular reader of the current Manhunter series over at the other D.C. But isn't her civilian idenity Kate Spencer? Does that mean there will be yet another Manhunter running around D.C.2 besides Paul Kirk and Mark Shaw?

Yes, at DC, Kate Spencer is the newest Manhunter. Good catch, by the way. Keep your eyes out in other books, cause you may be surprised where she may pop up next. and as always, thanks for taking the time to read it.
