It was a great issue as always.
I loved to see a lot of the main Crisis to be a part of this, but to see it from a differen point of view. Good work here Brian.
I'm very interested in seeing how that whole team splitting and quitting is going to work in the future of this series.

Zatanna scares me too, but I also want to knock Babs in the head a few times. She was so ready to mistrust the League, even AFTER she knew about the Starros and Luthor! Her father knew less than she did but was still at least rooting for Batman inside his own head. I really don't get her deal.
As for Ollie and Dinah, what we got here is failure to communicate. Nobody bothered to talk to anybody else. That's part of why Adrian died, too. Huntress I can sort of understand; that she's even walking and talking, let along doing any hero work, is a minor miracle.
So this is the end of this version of the Outsiders. But somehow, I get the feeling there will be a New New Outsiders.

It was a bit of a double edged sword writing the last part of the mini and this issue for the same week. I really wanted to tie the two together, closely, but I kept getting confused with the JL Annual (and grand finale) so I had to rewrite this several times. LOL! As for where the team goes from here, it's going to be an interesting ride, that's for sure. Thanks for reading and taking the time to respond. I always appreciate it, Riz!  |

I guess it didn't come across clear enough, but Batgirl was really the most torn between the law and what was considered right. It's a very fine line. You are right on the money, though! Lack of communication has been a huge factor in a lot of issue's between this group. Perhaps the next bunch will realize that. As always, thank you for reading. Finally got around to reading this. Comic Con has kept me busy.
I gotta say, part of me saw this coming. Babs is learning the tricks and the trade of being a "behind-the-scenes" hero, paving the way for Oracle, Ollie and Dinah are having problems (Then again, when aren't they?) and Zee's going crazy-evil. I'm sad to see the team break up, but perhaps it's for the best. This crisis neds some kind of ramification, right?
Overall, excellent stuff. Looking forward to where the team goes after all this.

Any prizes for guessing who will be on the lineup of the New New Outsiders? Sounds like a great idea, so let's go for it. First, some rules: 1. To prevent somebody just writing down the name of every DC character, you've got to list the seven (and only seven) characters who you think will comprise the new line-up. 2. Only one guess per person (although, since UltimateDC hadn't heard the rules, he can guess again, giving me a full seven-member lineup). 3. The lineup nearest the actual lineup wins. 4. Staff, and relatives thereof, cannot enter. 5. This competition finishes at the end of August when a winner will be announced. The winner will have the honour (previously reserved for the likes of editors and Barry Manilow) of having their names immortalised in a future issue of New Outsiders. In the case of multiple winners, or if we just really like your lineup, other goodies will be made available that I haven't thought of yet. Hope that makes some kind of sense. If you need any clarification, just ask, otherwise let the guessing commence! |

Sorry, but it might be unfair to reveal that, e.g. if somebody had guessed the lineup right and I revealed that was the case then newcomers could just pick one of the three sensible line ups suggested so far and have a 1-in-3 chance of being a joint winner which would be completely unfair on the previous losing entrants. |

Having said that, if anybody thinks the lineup's already been guessed then they might not bother sending in their lineups, so I'll reveal that so far nobody's guessed the full lineup (or even half of it).
Therefore, just to make things interesting, anybody can submit as many guesses of the 7 member lineup as they want, but only their last submitted entry before the finish date will be counted (so if any of you have been having second thoughts about your initial choices, feel free to guess again, which could be taking you nearer to the actual lineup or further away).

This was the last direct tie-in issue I had to read before I could move on to the finale. I did skip a few tie-ins because I still want to go back and read the previous issues first and not have the ongoing plot stuff spoiled. I loved this cover. Roy's work is always amazing yet he manages to surprise me every time! What a great set-up using Red Tornado's personal insight. Loved the heroes he has tried to emulate. A very ominous and foreboding beginning. The fighting between the teammates reminded my of an episode of Big Brother (sorry it's my summertime guilty pleasure!) and it happens when people with such strong personality's get stuck together for too long. It's seems the writing is on the wall for this group. It also seems there were some hints dropped that will be followed up on in the new Green Arrow series. The breakup scene with GA and Canary had me laughing as Plasticman tried to battle the bizarro clones. But on the serious side I really liked how you showed that Ollie and Dinah just don't see eye to eye. Dinah is looking for a partner, an equal. And Ollie is looking for Dinah to be a mate and someone he has to take care of. Sad. Zantana was creepy cool! Can't wait to see her story continue in her upcoming mini! This was one of the coolest tie-ins to the whole miniseries. I can't wait to see what this team looks like when the dust of the crisis clears. I sure wish I could guess on the new lineup but since I know a few of the characters that will be on the team I have to keep quiet. As always Brian you delivered another 5 star performance and this title remains one of my favorites on the site! |

=I loved this cover. Roy's work is always amazing yet he manages to surprise me every time! Roy is awesome, isn't he. I ask, he deliveres with enthusiasm and tremendous talent, and has never said... "I can't do that." Wish I could teach my kids to do that. ;D Thanks, I thought it was very fitting to have Reddy open this particular issue. He's been a fun character to write. You got that right, and when it comes to strong personality's, they don't make them much stronger then this group. I don't see what is going to be happening to the group in the next few issue's as much of a change as an evolution, the next step. EXALT for the wonderful plug! I'm glad you enjoyed that scene, because it was the one I enjoyed writing the most. I really wanted to balance the saddness of it all with a little humor, and you can always depend on Plastic Man to help with that. Neither can I. Thank you very much, John. I appreciate all the support and feedback I get from and everyone else that takes the time to read this series. |
