Well, over at Bludhaven, Lost to the Night tied the award for "Best Batman." A poem I wrote tied for best "Dick-n-Babs". And a character in Lost who will make his first DC2 appearance tonight won for Best Original Character.

Legacies #3 is up...I had the most fun writing this issue out of the first 3, so hopefully that translates to a good issue. If nothing else, at least check out Borize's character designs/awesome cover.

Doom Patrol #4. The final issue! At last! Can't wait for that lil' piece of awesome by Brandon Herren.
Detective Comics #13! Awesome, great book day in day out, just like New Outsiders coming out the week after by one half of the creative team!
And for my own piece of shamelessness: The Question #3 at long last!
You won't want to miss it!

Just got finished reading Susan's upcoming issue of Weird Western Quarterly (featuring Nighthawk!)--- and all I can say is you are all in for a treat! I had goosebumbs by the end. It's a bit of a departure (at least in tone) from prior issues, but packed with the same excellent writing, action, humor and adventure! Fans of heroic westerns (Lone Ranger, Zorro, that sort of thing), start drooling now, because this one is for you!

Doom Patrol #4. The final issue! At last! Can't wait for that lil' piece of awesome by Brandon Herren. Thanks alot for the nice promo, Charlie. I don't know if it's awesome but I do think I can guarantee it will be an interesting read. It's experimental. If you have ever been a fan of any version of the Doom Patrol (or like the Wizard of Oz) you definately have to run (don't walk!) over and read the newest issue right now! I will be your friend if you do.

I will be your friend if you do. I am the self proclaimed 'Worlds Biggest Doom Patrol Fan' and I just read the issue! Interesting and experimental does not begin to do this issue justice! Brandon manages to build on what was done in the first 3 issues of this title and blow the roof off with issue 4! Everyone should read this issue even if you been a mere causal fan of this team or never read one of the various incarnations before. [glow=red,3,300]This issue deserves a lot of attention![/glow] Of course Brandon may have more friends then he ever expected but he deserves it! ;D Maybe then he will get off his butt and give us a few more stories in the coming year?

Please check back before the weekend for Suicide Squad #9. Work is trying to kill me and I haven't had the energy to complete the final draft the last couple of weeks (it also hasn't helped my extreme case of writers block either ). Also in case you were wondering what happened to the annual, it too is lacking the final-final draft but should follow soon after #9. So for you 2 Squad fans out there, Your patience will be rewarded really soon. As for you others out there, jump on board and check out some back issues especially issues 4-6 that lead directly into the annual. Issue #9 begins a new storyline and a great jumping on point for new readers. By the end of the arc more then one title in the DC2 will be effected in a big way! Hopefully both issues will be worth the wait!

Now I need a break before a polish up the annual and get to work on GL #4!

So if this is a thread to promote your stuff.....and the timing is good because John just posted here....City of Crime #1 (of 5)will be out soon (John is editing).
It's a rather different style of Batman story, I guess, and takes use on a tour of the sleazy, the really sleazy, and the bright spots of Gotham City. AND, it is going to introduce us to the DC2 version of a little used Batman villain AND a tragic hero yet to be seen in DC2...It's set in the early years of Batman's career, pretty much before any DC2 Batman stories to date. Its not exactly DC2 Batman: Year One, but it is as close as we've come so far.
Plus over the series we get to see Matches Malone, Vicki Vale, Harv Bullock, Jim Gordon and even a cameo from a dude in glasses from Metropolis.
Finally the events of City of Crime will play into stories the regular Batman titles of Batman and Detective Comics in the not too distant future that will shake the hell out of the man in the Cape and Cowl. So stay tuned!
Grant
