HOLEE... Now Dave you best not disappoint me...wait I got to go back re-read the previous issues. D'OhThe new Luthor/Brainiac team... The Justice Legion brace for a war with the Freedom Fighters... The Question goes Downside... Jason Todd amid the fearsome Smilies... The mysterious Pariah preaches from the wastes... And it all leads to a startling announcement... (How about a quick sneak peek?) Barbara switched off the volume. For a moment, they could only stare in shock at the screen at this momentous announcement, and what it portended. Megatropolis was allying itself with the Rock of Eternity, and Lex’s line about “coming together against the threat of aggression and the forces of extinction” could only refer to a joint offensive against the Amazons and Atlanteans of the Elysian Union, long viewed as outsiders and hoarders of the Earth’s remaining gifts.
New Years Day. The world was three months away from an all-consuming, cataclysmic war. “We’ve got to stop it.” Barbara heard herself saying, as if it were someone else entirely using her voice. She knew what she had to do. She shrank from it. Her mind cried out against it. It was too horrible... But she knew what must be done if the world was to survive. We hope not to disappoint, Chief!

I forgot this was a book being written. :-P *ducks the swat* Oh, we are back with a vengence! Actually, more than half of #5 is written already as well, and I think it's fair to say that things are heating up! (Because it's been a while since the last issue, I will be posting a "What Has Come Before" recap to brush-up faithful readers who don't have the time and opportunity to go back and read previous issues)! Thanks for the support, Jay and Chief! Looking forward to hearing what you think when the issue posts!

Götterdämmerung is coming... back! Great news! I thought this was going to be DC2's Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk. The series is fantastic and creative, and I'm glad to see it coming back. Hopefully, we'll see the next Justice Society of America coming soon as well.

[/u][/center] “My vow to my Goddess means more to me than anything, Vennor.” She swung for his head with a slash of her sword that he took easily and he bounced away. “No more talk, fight me!” The battle began as Vennor took a step forward and swung a blow for her head that as easily parried by Sonja. She knew that her whole life hinged on her defeating him, but she wasn’t worried because no man had ever bested her. Another parry clanged as the swords shined the light off the evening sun as it sat in the distance. Vennor took no defence as his parries were countered. She readied her footing as she launched her self into the air with a leap and she screamed out in a battle cry as she swung down at him. He slapped her blade away as he defended her assault with agility that he had learned as a youth. She was surprised that he was able to defend against an attack that she had developed over the years. She landed on her feet and heaved in a deep breath. He was defending himself and scoring offencively against her. It was appealing to her that he showed such strength. Vennor took the chance as she landed as he sent a quick kick to her mid section that pummeled her against the wall that stood as a backdrop to their battle. Her sword went sliding across the room as her head smacked against the wall in an awkward fall. She had been saved from serious injury by how she had learned to fall in battle that would lessen the blows of her opponents. It had saved her a time or two but now it appeared she had been defeated fairly. He put the sword at her throat and finally cleared his breath. “Yield to me, Red Sonja, I have defeated you fairly.” Vennor waited on her response as she slide up into a sitting position. Sonja nodded as she wiped the blood from her mouth. “You have, and I don’t believe it was aided by any magic. No man has ever defeated me, Vennor.” “Will you take your place as my queen then?” The sword was not taken away from her throat yet. “I…” She paused. Something wasn’t right about this. It was all too perfect. “I have no choice, I will take my place beside you.”

"Manhunter." Mark Shaw. He'd faced him in battle before. Received a very rude kick to the behind, when he was fighting side by side with the Teen Titans, against Shaw's... Suicide Squad. Damn. "What do you want?"
"For you to stand down. I apologize for my team-mate's foolhardiness. I did not wish for this to go the way it's going. But I need you to stand down and be taken into custody."
Batman did not reply. The buzzing in his ear was going crazy. There were bogies on his left and right, and the sensors in his boots could detect vibrations in the sewers below. Damn.
"Your actions brought about millions of dollars worth of property damage." Bruce, thought Dick. "Hundreds of wounded." Bruce. "Hundreds dead." Bruce. "Gotham is limping from a very deadly situation, one you put it in and you have been disavowed by the Justice League. We are aware of this. You no longer have membership in a UN sanctioned team." Bruce. "You must answer for your crimes. You have to understand that."
"If you had approached me calmly, I would have listened to your words. But you attacked me. You surrounded me with your goons." An icy chill filled the air. Killer Frost didn't like that comment. "It's not going to happen, Shaw."
"Shaw, stop pissing around and take him down," came a shout from above. Dick would have smiled if he weren't facing near-impossible odds. Killer Frost was there.
"No. We do this my way!" Mark pointed his finger up at the darkness.
So that's where Frost was... Dick calculated the distance.
Mark continued, "you're outnumbered. We will take you down."
"You can try." Dick was used the darkness offered by the cape to its best effect. His grapnel was back in his hand. "And you will fail."
