3.5 dollars? wow. My parents used to tell me about the days our movies cost around that. Hell, you used to be able to pay for three movies in one. I remember going to the matinees on the weekends and paying 3 dollars and the soda/popcorn were still cheap too. Oh and gas was about 1.25 for 93 octane. Now its about I believe 35 dollars or so for me and my family including large popcorn and two sodas. Mischief

HAIRSPRAY!!!What an amazing movie! Michelle Pfeiffer was amazing. She was over the top, psychotic, and over acted but it worked! It worked amazingly I would see the movie again just because of her. John Travolta was funny as heck as the ecrentic mother and the lead, I forget her name, was the most fresh thing I've seen in movies in a real long time! lol I didn't see any other movies besides Hairspray

couldn't agree with you more, Cheshire! Hairspray made me walk out with a feel good kind of mood. sorry you didn't get to see anything else, though. It wasn't a bad summer for popcorn flicks. but next year... INDY!!!!

anyway, there is no where in my area that is showing Across the Universe. Not in Toledo, or Ann Arbor or even the Detroit area. I was so primed to go see this show this weekend. Finally saw Across the Universe! What a wild ride... fantastic music and some bizarre imagery. Eddie Izzard as Mr. Kite was a trip. You could really see that the director is usually a Broadway director with the way the musical numbers, and even some of the props and effects, looked. I recommend it. Stardust was still my favorite though... toss a few Beatles tunes in it and it would have been perfect!

The concept of the Tower shows a beam of light emiting from a wishing well which has 'imagine peace' engraved in 24 languages and will be lit every year between Lennon's birthday 9 October and the anniversary of his death on 8 December.

I have yet to see Stardust because I promise this girl I'd wait to read the book...but i've gotten so used to read graphic novels that i find letters on a blank page to be too slow, unless teh writer is fantastic...and most aren't
