If you're like me and you frequent the I Tunes Music store looking for groovy new music then you've come across anyone and everyone who is a so called celebrity has a play list.
Well here's your chance to share what your top songs are from last year. What are favorite songs on your I Pod right now? Not your all time favs or what you think other people would think is cool. What is the top songs that would make your Celebrity play list, if they asked you to submit one right now?

Tonight It’s You -Cheap TrickPunk pop rock at it's best! Is It Any Wonder? -KeaneI heard this and went- "OMG the new U2 is the best I've heard in years." Junkie -The Buddha BrainsThis band hasn't gotten their big break yet but once they do...look out! This is the grooviest track on this list! 29 Palms -Robert PlantThis is my all-time fav Plant solo tune. It's a great road song. Ain’t No Other Man -Christina AguileraSome might hesitate to list this song but I have loved since I first heard it. This woman can belt it out and the horns make this an instant classic. Try to sit still when this is on. One Piece At A Time -Johnny CashThe legend. Nice to see a new generation is catching on. All These Things That I’ve Done -The KillersJust a cool band and a damn cool song. Thunder Kiss ’65 -White ZombieGuitar rock and Rob Zombie before he started recycling his stuff and calling it new music. This Must Be The Place -Talking HeadsThe Talking Heads are one of my alltime favs. This song is just the perfect blend of punk pop that they did so well! Hands Open -Snow PatrolJumped on this bands bandwagon late but they deserve all the success they are finally reaching. I wonder who here turned me on to this band?

Oh yeah... you sure beat me.... yet I see NO playlist?! tsk tsk tsk... What's wrong with Christina Aguillera chris? she is not only a beautiful woman but a talented singer. Who are you to judge Mr. "I-cried-when-the-o.c.-was-cancelled" anyhow, after much inner turmoil here is my playlist of the past year: Pretty Pathetic by Smoking Popes- I got pretty big into this band last year and the song just stuck out to me when i was listening to their music. Haunt You Everyday by Weezer- this is from their new album (i think) and its pretty awesome Our Love by Rhett Miller- This year they started putting out Scrubs reruns and i got into the show big time and in one episode elliot and j.d. finally hook up and this song was playing so i finally looked it up and got it after being bothered about it for days. Simple Man by Deftones- its a cover of a lynryd skynryd song from an album of covers and rare songs but i just like how they play it a lot, maybe even moreso than the original... maybe. The Book I Read by Talking Heads- talking heads rule and this is my favorite song of theirs from talking heads 77 which i found for barely nothing used at tower records. In the Car by Barenaked Ladies- just one of my favorite songs that i got into last year for some reason. Before I Forget by Slipknot- after like SIX years of being nominated my favorite band in high school FINALLY won a grammy, not that it means anything but it was still pretty sweet... and they won it for this song. Old Man by Neil Young- a very cool song by neil young (really gotta rent heart of gold) Idiot Wind by Bob Dylan- this is one of the angriest friggin songs I have EVER friggin heard... Sweetest Perfection by Depeche Mode-I remember when i first join dc2 and i used to listen to depeche mode a LOT and i would hang out outside of my classes and listen to this one a lot while drawing all those covers when i shoulda been studying or something like that.

Ooooh! I like this thread! The top songs, huh? Tough one. S'like asking a parent to pick out a favorite child... with a whopping total of 6,976 songs on mine, let's see if I can narrow it down.
Higher Love by Depeche Mode - One of their all time greatest songs, stuck on the back end of one of their (if not their absolute) best CD's.
Chocolate by Snow Patrol - A band I was kinda into until I saw them open for Coldplay... they are awesome live.
Things that I Don't Understand by Coldplay - A great tune that was left off X&Y, sent to b-side status. I think this song could have made X&Y that much better, it echoes the best the Cure had to offer.
The Funeral by Band of Horses - A pleasant mellow tune reminiscent of the Shins.
Tear it Down by Def Leppard - from the Hysteria Expanded Edition 2 CD set, NOT the Adrenalize version. Simple, rockin', awesome. Def Leppard rocks & if you say you disagree, you're lying (you know what's in your CD collection, don't try and hide it).
Blue Dress/I Want You Now/Dressed in Black by Depeche Mode - a 3 way tie... these songs are lyrical & musical sex... and they work too.
Pounding by the Doves - Driving beat, swirling keyboards & acoustic guitars. A great, underrated band!
Read My Mind by the Killers - This song is what made 80's music great! What... wait... this was released in 2006?
Starlight by Muse - Another great song that sounds like it came from the 80's
Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance - Not my favorite band, by far, but this song is great. This is what Queen would be like if they were a punk band.
Clocks by Coldplay - swirling piano, a driving beat and great vocals. A perfect song.
Just Like Heaven by the Cure - My all time favorite.
I could list more, but I want to see what everyone else likes!

All right, I don't have an IPOD but I'll play along with my most listened to songs this year. Most of them are pretty old. I mean not Starlord or Idlewilder old but not new either. ;D There are links to videos for them too. Crazy-- Gnarles Barkley Just had the kind of year where I was really feeling this song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=86C4RNuAj6ADumb-- Nirvana I've always been a HUGE Nirvana fan. This song was on the other day and and I heard it in a whole new lite due to some recent personal events. Slapped me right across the face. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2myQO8p6ZRI Puke Eminem Um...yeah. Beware youngsters parental advisory. Not a real video but the song is there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSKNNn7xqGcDrops Of Jupiter Train Love this song. Great instrumental, great lyrics, its all there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL7w85kJ0vEFirewater Burn Blood Hound Gang--Lot of Blood Hound Gang lately. Can't even explain it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7F1KiB2nWAHurt Johnny Cash -- Great cover. One of very few covers I like better than the original. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO9dbmJ_2zUTheres a lot more but all I got right now without repeating the same bands/artists.

I could listen so many (I don't have an iPod, crappy piece of technology) but here's my list of songs I've been listening to a lot recently: Johnny Cash - Mercy Seat Love the man's voice. And this song is a perfect outlet for it in his later years. Also, Hurt, I was discussing this with Doc, and I told him I couldn't skip this track after letting it start. It's beautiful and so poignant. But I go with Mercy Seat because I enjoy it more, and don't cry when it comes on Journey - Send Her My Love Steve Perry at his best! I fell in love with this song when I first heard it, and it always makes me smile when I listen to it. But here's a tip guys, when you've just broken up with your girlfriend, don't automatically listen to Ask The Lonely... It does nothing for you're state of mind. Angelspit - 100% Ha, electronic industrial death metal! It's like a twisted medical experiment and the lead singer's vocals are amazing. Love me a hard rocking female vocalist, and the distortion and heavy metallic sounds don't do anything to ruin it. Kansas - Dust In The Wind " You're my boy, Blue!" See also Carry On My Wayward SonJasper McVain - Mitre Storm Love this song. Faux 80s power rock, but with some really wacky lyrics, if you can tell me where this song is from, and if you can send me Revv It Up, you appear in The Question #7. Please. +44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating From the ashes of Blink 182 came two bands, Angels and Airwaves (*spits*) and this awesome band! Love this song, love the album, really good lyrics! The Automatic - By My Side The only thing that ruins this entire band is the bloody keyboardist. Sam, Mark, any other Brits on the site, you must know what I'm talking about. I can't ruddy stand that guy! Billy Talent - Devil In A Midnight Mass Catchy punk rock from a Canadian band (I think, Doc?) and some cool stuff! Blonde Redhead - Misery Is A Butterfly Pure awesome.

Ummm... I Melt by Rascal Flatts Don't know, just like it... Gone by Montgomery Gentry A little kiss-my-butt song to my ex... Speed by Montgomery Gentry Little song saying I need to get over my ex... Hell Yeah by Montgomery Gentry Just a song for fun... Good Ride Cowboy by Garth Brooks Pretty much me in 5 years... Mega Man 2 Metal Man Stainless Steel Mix Just an awesome techno song... Love You Out Loud by Rascal Flatts Song of how I felt before my ex was my ex... And... This Everyday Love by Rascal Flatts Pretty much as above... That's it...

I just wanted to pop in and say that I took a look at Hurt by Johnny Cash and haven't been moved by a song or a video like that in a long time. I've always been a fan of his, but hadn't picked up his last album. I'm going to be doing it this weekend. Thanks for that, guys!

I bought Corrin an iPod for Christmas, but have yet to venture into that particular arena--- I honestly can't say I've been overly impressed with much music these last few years, sadly... Everything seems so interchangable and disposable. Does this mean I'm getting old? (No predictable responses, please!)

Most of what I own came from earlier decades as well... 50's-80's. Lately there have been a few interesting new bands... but nothing revolutionary. Or at least I don't consider screaming noise revolutionary.

you're not getting old Dave, just settled. I've been the same way. I find myself collecting all the stuff I never did when I was a teenager. From Elton and Billy to VanHalen and Motley Crue.
Mostly I've been collecting soundtracks. I find that they've been great for writing too. My three LOTR's are my favorites, but I've got about twenty of them. Trying to get a hold of Indiana Jones and Pirates soundtracks at the moment.
And I don't have an I pod either.

Well I certainly feel settled in my listening ways for the most part as well but I have found that I am more open to artists I never gave a chance to years ago. For Charlie or anyone to say that the I-Pod is a crappy piece of tech is just plain absurd! Constantly having to mess with CD's is absurd. Having thousands of songs with multiply play-lists in one convenient place is the best thing that has ever happened to music! So for the Brian and Dave's out there, get in I Pod! You will wonder how you ever enjoyed music without it! Remember the days of mixed tapes and then mixed CD's and you will laugh! Thanks to everyone who shared so far. An interesting mix from such a short list of people so far. I think it's cool. How can anyone ever judge anyone else's taste in music?

The reason why the I Pod is so much cooler then even the MP3 player is the versatility of the playlist design and the I Tunes function for the PC. And where else can you have a weeks worth of songs 24-7 and never have to hear the same song twice?

iTunes is a crappy piece of software!

As with most things, I'm with Doc. iTunes is a crappy piece of software! All due respect to Doc's superior tech-savvy, but I'd hardly say that iTunes was 'crappy.' We've never had any problems with it (and we now have almost 1000 songs on our iPod), and it does dominate the market... Wherefore 'crappy'?

Well personally, for me, it messed up my computer, you can't download music and put it on there because it SAYS in the agreement that it is basically looking constantly at your library and for any illegal downloads. Friend of mine was sent to the court because of iTunes "spying" on her, and it just begs the question: "How much are Apple looking at your computer?"
And the last two iPods have had have BROKEN and the support peopel were like "Oh, did you try charging it?" and I was like "OF COURSE I TRIED £$%^&*£ CHARGING IT!"
Bloody ridiculous.
So to answer your question in one short word: Crappy.

So to answer your question in one short word: Crappy. Well illegal is illegal right? Privacy is a crime whether it's apple or anyone else. Why else would Apple take your friend to court? Honestly to me I don't really care if Apple spys on me. In the computer age, who doesn't? Thats why I have systems in place that detects and eliminates worms, trojans, and block hackers. It also detects and removes spyware and blocks spam. Everyone should have those security perimeters in place anyway. If I was worried about privacy and being monitored, I wouldn’t connect to the internet at all. Spyware is a much bigger threat to privacy than iTunes. There are also phishing and other identity stealers to be concerned with. If you’re on the internet at all you should be more worried about your moves being watched and reported while surfing than on iTunes. Of course if I tunes isn't your thing you can always buy CD's, but the new stuff has some forms of syware on them as well. Seems like you had a bad run Charlie with your I Pods. My wife and I have had ours for over two years with thousands of hours of listening pleasure with out a glitch. The Zen Vision M does sound cool though but I normally don't chase the newest tech until what I have breaks down.
