now i dont wanna judge, but its judgement time. ive seen all we want to talk about is how good comics are and how great peoples runs were, but this should be a little harder of a question: what is the worst comic you EVER read? ill start out.. i went to my local book store and they had a crazy ammount of comics for a quarter naturally, they were uh... not the best but of the ones i got, this was the worst: (exhale) phew this is about a guy named... cant even remember his name, but he was basically a captain america with a rip off cable costume and the whole style is done in a wannabe rob liefeld style, (I cannot possibly fathom why anyone would WANT to mimick Rob Liefeld?!?). he was given the serum and frozen to create a team of american heros to make a uh... i guess army of three. it was him featuring two futuristic guns, nuke the OTHER capn clone, this weird kung fu guy with a pony tail, and a soldier from the enemies clone soldiers that looked like baraka on steroids, minus the sweet claws. the dirtiest fight all year waws about 3 pages of punches and hits, and ends with the main guy's (whose name escapes me) razor sharp adamantium knife stabbing through nukes vibratium sheild, thus proving he is an american soldier, egad. you see nuke is led to beleive the main guy is a vietnamese soldier and nuke apparently HATES vietnamese. suck on this you commie freak indeed. (side note: what is the white substance hanging off his chin) the whole thing wraps up with the superfreak invading army about to fight the super soldier team, which i have as well and dissapointed me to a slightly lesser extent. to top it off check out the teaser for next issue... muahahahahaha like anyone ever feared the welsch!

Obnoxio the Clown #1 Featuring the X-men
Another fine Marvel title. Comic features a story line of a birthday clown versus the x-men. I think it was supposed to be funny, but it wasn't. Just sad.
Only comic that I ever bought, read, tore up and burned!
I should've performed an exorcism, since it still haunts me to this day!

You'd think that Marvel Comics teaming up with one of the largest and most respected Christian publishers in the United States would produce one of the best "Christian" superhero books ever... instead we got this... ... a male Dazzler in a biker helmet. For shame, people.

I can't really pin it down. I only read the mainstream. For worst art: Kevin Nowlan in New Mutants #51 (Original Series). I know that Nowlan has done more and better, but, quite frankly, his work here looks like something I would draw. And I have fine motor coordination problems.
Worst story and second-worst art: Dark Knight Strikes Again... Take a bow, Mr. Miller!
Worst excuse for a comic ever: Um... there are these missionaries who hand out these 1x3 comic booklets showing mischevous kids who die in accidents and go directly to Hell even though they weren't really bad people, all because they didn't accept the 'Right' religious doctrine. It's one thing if you're handing out the stuff to members of your own sect (though still a questionable practice). But in an effort to win people to the fold, they want to scare the bejujus out of impressionable kids?!? Ick.

Worst story and second-worst art: Dark Knight Strikes Again... Take a bow, Mr. Miller! ...youve made an insignificant enemy this day He was going for something new, he wanted it to be unbeleiveable and colorful and crazy because ever since DKR every batman book was the same old dark story after dark story, can you honestly blame him for trying something new?!? anyway, illuminator looks awesomely bad, wish i could have seen that.

Not only do they try and incite fear to convert people, but they also promote hate and prejudice! Jesus would be proud (sarcasm)! Those tracks are located at www.chick.com, take a look if you dare!!! But here's Scott Kurtz (of PVP)'s rebuttal based off this Jack Chick's Trac www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp:

You make some good points...
But..
I thought this was quite a convoluted story (i mean, i wanted to enjoy and love it, and i did a tad, but not as much as i enjoyed DKR...)
uhhh
I nominate X-Force and Carrot Top...

If you guys haven't read PVP yet, I encourage you to start from the very first strip (way back from 1998). You can also buy the comic in print format from Image. www.pvponline.comHappy reading!

Well I'll stay out of that conversation....
Worst comic ever....I'm going with Morrison's run on X-Men. It was like re reading the death of Phoenix all over again. Just bad. IMHO.

I'm not at all ashamed to say that I have a 3 way tie here...
DK2 All Star Batman Ben Raab's entire run on Green Lantern
Morrison's run on X-Men wasn't bad... personally, I just have a hard time reading his work at times because it can be so convoluted. Half the time I don't understand what I'm reading... I'm not a stupid guy, by any means, but I'm also not a member of mensa either... He just... lost me at 'hello'.
I actually don't enjoy ANY of the current X-Men books... but i wouldn't call them the worst.

Morrison I felt that I had seen a lot of the story before in the late seventies and early eighties. Guess I'm just showing my age. LOL

Yes, but All-Star Batman and Robin is so horribly bad that it's actually amusing...you know...in a twisted-I-want-to-be-the-Bride-of-Chucky way.

Since I am the proud owner of Bride of Chuckie I can understand that statement. Now I have a whole new way of looking at that comic. Maybe a couple of belts of Tequila before I read it again.

I loved DKSA. I find it a really joyful comic, despite all the death and destruction. To me it seems really hopeful and forward looking. Much respect to Frank Miller for taking the art in a different direction. I did think it was a shame about the largely tacked-on Dick Grayson storyline. I think I may even prefer DKSA to DKR. I feel like DKR was a warning that was largely ignored and now we are LIVING in the world it depicts. Media manipulation, figurehead presidents and those who oppose the current administration branded as unpatriotic. Oh yeah, lets not forget the fact that part one ends with an aerial assault on the twin towers. Miller was soooo far ahead of his time. Anyway, now we're living in this kind of a world, so the call for change that WAS DKSA is unpopular, because people aren't ready to listen to it. Especially since the hero is a terrorist working against the US government. My own feeling is that in 30 years time DKSA will be an acknowledged classic. The film of V for Vendetta has suffered a similar fate, being put back to March, despite the fact it was supposed to be released this week to tie in with the 400th anniversary of the gunpowder plot. That's my cod-sociology opinion anyway. I shall return later with a long rant about my own least favourite storyline of recent years. Which I hope will be equally controversial.
