the crazy quilt discussion over in the "villains you most want to see..." thread got me thinking. what dc hero do you think is most in need of a revamp in the dc2 universe?
i'll go first. i'm going to say aztek:the ultimate man. his fate in the dc universe proper never set well with me and has honestly always left a bad taste in my mouth. let's bring him in and give this great morrison/millar creation some much needed long term exposure. i mean, come on, even the justice league unlimited cartoon is smart enough to see the greatness of this character.

with my limited knowledge of the current canon, I'd have to go with Nightwing since, as far as I can tell, the writers have cut his off with a dull knife and he seriously needs to grow a new pair..and this from a character who was a major player for how many decades?

the crazy quilt "DISCUSSION"!?! that was people putting "quilt" in horror movie titles... ;D character id like to see get revamped is... hrm... Pieface the Eskimo Greasemokey. Thomas Kalamuku, he got absolutely NO play in the DC2 as of... one issue but still, whats up wit dat Scott?

Pieface will arrive around issue 12 or so. I wrote some dialogue with him, that 2 months later, was eerily remincent of his banter with Hal in New Frontier. So I have a new concept with him that I am toying around with.
There may be more to Pieface than meets the eye...
I would like to see a Ressurection Man in DC2. That was a great comic concept that went down the toilet quickly due to the lack of imagination on the writers part. They should have left him out of the mainstream DCU... the moment the JLA & Darkseid's minions showed up it blew.
Also, Ronnie Raymond Firestorm needs DC2 treatment!

I have the first issue of a Firestorm sorry in the bag. Heavy on the dialogue, but quite cool IMO. It was meant to go on the OTHER site, but "oops"...

DOOM PATROL! My favorite group in the DCU but they are an absolute mess of continuity, and the recent series did nothing to help. Byrne really dropped the ball on that one. I just want the original team starring in weird, oddball adventures. That's all!

What would be cool would be something like the DOOM PATROL: the lost files which has a bunch of extra missions from the 60s, whose records were lost.

I had an idea for a Doom Patrol mini that would have started the team in the 60s, gone through most of the incarnations and extra characters up to the present and finished with the re-emergence of the original members, but someone has dibs on them already so I chucked it. Now if I can only get IW to run my Metal Men story.... ;D

doom patrol!?! (yawn) Yeah, you're right, there's not really any necrophilia at all in the Doom Patrol. It must be a real snoozefest for you.

haha, now Challengers of the Unknown, that is where that kind of story can develop. and why do you think i have an obsession with necrophelia? i have only mentioned it once. geez brandon i'd smite thee but i wouldnt want to ruin your cool number.
and brian, starfire's are too orange tinted IMO

haha, now Challengers of the Unknown, that is where that kind of story can develop. That is part of the appeal for working in Doom Patrol in my opinion. They, along with all the other adventure teams of the mid-20th century (Sea Devils, Doom Patrol, Blackhawks, Challengers, etc.), fill the history gap in between the Golden Age of heroes and the Modern one. A lot of those are generational organizations too so it makes them very adaptable. You could have fun with this for Doom Patrol by saying that after Cliff Steele lost the first team in the 60s he would try to restart the DP every 10 years or so but failing each time. It could add a little more tragedy to the character which he (as a Frankenstein archetype) seems to wear pretty well. That's a reason why it surprises me you don't like the team, GL133. The Doom Patrol spring right out of Sci-fi and Horror movies of that time. Cliff is robot Frankenstein, Larry is a sci-fi version of the Mummy, Beast Boy is "I Was A Teenage Werewolf" times like 1000, Rita is "Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman", and Mento is one of those Twilight Zone-ish characters like "The Man With The X-ray Eyes". I'm sorry but a team like that is pure gold.

Good case there KSM! I honestly hadn't thought about Doom Patrol that much, but you're right about the genre. I also would love to see a Metal Men revised. But when it comes to ultimate revamp...sorry about this but...Blue Beetle. Well the pre IC Blue Beetle of course.
Kord is not dead! It was a flesh wound! ;D
