Please tell me that someone else is buying this book. This is still one of the best character driven books that DC has. Jump on board if you haven't already.

I just can't get into this book. I sometimes read it at my comic shop but it really does nothing for me. *shrugs*

I haven't read the latest issue yet, but I agree that this is one of the best written books out there. I dropped a Lot of titles recently, but I am keeping this one. Smart writing, great characters and characterization, and good stories. The latest plotline, where Kate defends Wonder Woman in the Max Lord case, is an inspired bit of business!

Since my eight month exile from buying comics is slowly coming to an end (I already picked up half of 52 and the new JLA) of course the next books I will pick up are all of the post crisis issues of Manhunter and maybe Checkmate and something else next week. I have always been a big fan of the book (duh ). For anyone that bitches and complains about how badly comics are written, this is the book that consistently broke the mold and delivered for 20+ issues. I can't wait to catch back up with one of my favorite titles.

i read street justice and loved it but i just havent caught up with the issues that followed.
john if you are planning on getting into checkmate i'd suggest you read a few issues since its kinda.. stale. i know you like that crazy suicide squad but yeah, i'd still test the water before you dive right in.

Yeah I know about Checkmate from reading the first few issues. I am a huge Rucka fan in both novels and comics (Queen & Country is the bomb YO!) I would have to say that it has not been the best but they did bring back Rick Flagg and the Squad I heard so it can't be all bad right? As for you Manhunter junkies out there who have either picked up the book recently or have loved it from the get go, please hear this- Manhunter was saved once due to the few and proud who put their money where their mouth is and took action. Now is the time to do it again. Two things you can do: 1) Buy the damn book and like it! 2) Write the big man over at DC. You think writing letters doesn't work? It got us issues 25-30 of Manhunter did it not? So here we go from Marc himself: Save Manhunter, Part Two!!!! Write letters to: Paul Levitz and Dan DiDio c/o DC COMICS 1700 Broadway NYC, NY 10019 Snail-mail letters make the biggest impact!!! Beg, plead, make animal sacrifices to keep Manhunter going beyond #30!!! Thank your continued support of one of my favorite books that all the cool smart kids are reading!

It's a ploy by Checkmate! Because Diana killed Max in revenge for Ted and to save Clark from being turned into a weapon! It's either a conspiracy or it's Batman

I think you are on the money with Checkmate. I've been waiting for that book to start reaching out into other books, and this is the perfect place to start. Good call, Charlie!

Manhunter doesn't do anything for me though. I keep meaning to pick it up, and I have early issues (because they were CHEAP) but it's really not my kind of thing. Nor do I pick up Checkmate! But hey... I pick up 52! That's gotta count for something, eh?
AND DID YOU HEAR OSTRANDER IS WRITING A NEW SUICIDE SQUAD BOOK?
I did.
Loudly.

Yes, I did here that about Ostrander. I think that's great. As long as Didio doesn't pull him off it after six issue's and put Devin Grayson on it instead! 52 is the best thing DC has going for it right now. But Manhunter is just an amazingly written book, you should pick up... even if you don't like it... just because I've asked you to... nicely... this time.

I personaly never liked the court room scenes in the book. If she was disbarred and on the run long term I'd be more inclined to buy the book which is a completely great read. I've always loved stories where a hero is created from the ground up.

I like the court room scenes... This is a smart book. I am sad to see it go, but I'm glad Manhunter has joined the Birds of Prey. Oh, and hasn't Kate Spencer popped up recently at the DC2...? Hmmm, wonder where that one's going...

Manhunter: Deja vu all over again Saturday February 24, 2007, 1:14 pm From the DC Nations Panel yesterday at the New York Comic-Con:
Didio stopped the questions to note that they’ve had a change of heart on something - and turned it over to Wayne, who announced that DC will continue to publish Manhunter.
Deja vu. And good news indeed. I guess Manhunter is becoming DC’s answer to Spider-Girl.
This news along with Dan Didio coaxing Ostrander back to Suicide Squad means that I won't be sending hate mail his way for a long long time!

I read that too! They also said that it wouldn't be a 5 or 6 issue reprieve, but it will be indefinitely. You see Virginia, there is a Santa Clause!

Yes there is! A big thank you to everyone that took part in saving this title whether it was buying an issue or TPB to check it out, telling a friend to buy it or Kate would kick their ass, or being part of one of the "Save Manhunter groups" Marc appreciates I am sure as do us fans who never gave up hope! As for those who never gave it a chance because the book was doomed, it ain't no more baby! Now I guess someone is gonna have to find a way to give Kate a bigger role in the DC2!

I found this title during the Identity Crisis x-over, got hooked, went back and bought all the back issues, and I've been an ardent fan ever since!
Plus, I bought the trades (easier to re-read that way) ;D
Long Live Manhunter, and Long Live Kate Spencer!
Now, just where have we seen here around the DC2 lately,...?
