Cowardice would have been to run away with the island. The amazons were going against a superior foe, that they could not kill... Their options were limited. They could have stayed and been descimated, or saved themselves & their peaceful way of life...
Now I just want to know, where did they go? Really... I wasn't aware they could do this... Did anyone else know?

I agree, their situation was a no win so the gods moved them. Whatever the reason, DC wanted Diana's support group gone and now they are. I had no idea they could do this, but I always had the impression that Paradise Island existed inside of a dimensional weirdness of some kind so it's not too far of a reach to think a door could be shut on the island's access. Or maybe they went somewhere wackier. I guess we'll see.
Someone mentioned that this seemed similar to Aquaman and Atlantis in Our World At War and I agree. I didn't really see the point for that one either other than to do something shocking with Aquaman, so I hope that DC has some type of story driven reason for doing it.

That was me... DC's intention with OWaW & Atlantis was to originally kill off Aquaman. But at the last second they decided to make his 'death' vague. I believe Garth was supposed to assume the mantle. I don't see characters like Artemis disappearing forever. But it certainly is an interesting development! Now if they'd only kill off the talking half man/half bull Ferdinand...

clearly, they went where the elves went at the end of lord of the rings to die. diana was too much of a coward to die so she'd rather have some "noble" stay behind so they would THINK she would stay and fight rather than run with her tail between her legs. which she will do in the next issue.

So I guess we know who the new Blue Beetle is which all seems cool so far, and even more Spider-manish.
As I've seen pointed out. Superboy Prime makes a comment about his powers and being in the yellow sun, but as pointed out on another board, wasn't his origin different, as in his powers being comet-derived and his not really being from Krypton or Smallville or any of that? They seem to be playing him here as just a young Kal-el. I hope Johns goes into more detail on this.
And as for the people stuck in the Anti-Monitor machine, they all seem to represent the remaining Earths before the reboot, but three slots are left. Power Girl will fit in the Earth 2 slot, and you have to assume there will be a bad guy in the Earth 3 slot (will it be a Pre-Crisis or Post-Crisis version I wonder), but who do you think will fill slot number 3? Hmmm. Watch your back Superboy! And what is the story on Breach and why is he in there?

I thought 2005 has been a great year for DC, but it sounds like next year is going to be full of just as many surprises!

Okay, rethinking it I'd say the last three slots are Superboy Prime, Power Girl, and Alex himself. But what does it do???

Vibrational Fork... Used to keep Earths seperated... I'm thinking it undoes all the good vibration and brings back Earth 2...

Vibrational Fork... Used to keep Earths seperated... I'm thinking it undoes all the good vibration and brings back Earth 2... I think it'll bring back more than Earth-2, it'll bring back the multiverse. Everyone hooked up represents a different part of the multiverse. Alex Luthor- Earth 3 Superoy Prime- Earth Prime Powergirl - Earth 2 Martian Manhunter - Earth 1 (Earth 1 is the only one in the multiverse with martians) The Ray - Earth X Black Adam - Earth M Nightshade - Earth Charleton (4?) Lady Quark - I forget. And it was the Anti-Monitor's hand in the middle of the big bang.

Yeah, but do they just want to bring back Earth 2 (I'm sure they are probably just telling crazy E2 Supes that to manipulate him) or the whole Multiverse or maybe even jump start the Anti-Monitor there?
All I know is that if they are retelling the History of the DCU in the back of 52 we are in for some sort of reality altering. If they restart the Multiverse and the E2 and E1 separate, then could that be the change in the E1?
Here's a simple question for everyone. Yes or no answer, do you want the Earth 1 and Earth 2 characters on separate Earths again?

Absolutely not.
As complex as DC history has been since the merging... Zero Hour helped define that history & put a nice bow on it. Yeah, there are still flubs here & there... but I like all the heroes on one Earth.
Unless they have a new Earth that is "Ultimate" or "All Star"... That would work for me.

I like the idea of the JSA or All-Star Squadron operating in the Golden age. In this case, I defenitely see Earth-2 as being a necessity. If the JSA is going to be operating in modern times, I don't see why we need a seperate earth.
On the otherhand, I think the multiverse should return. If it does, so many wonderful Elseworlds could be accessible into current storylines.

But that's the key right there... the multi-verse already exists in the form of Elseworlds. The multi-verse didn't stop after Crisis... it just received a new name. I think all the heroes should operate on the same Earth if they stay current. I don't think a second Earth is needed to recount the adventures of the Golden Age heroes. The book would just take place in the past. You could introduce new villains in the past & have them return in the present day...
I think they should leave it as is. If anything, I guess this could make travelling between the DCU Earth & the Elseworlds possible... but why?

I want it to stay as 1 earth. I think bringing back multiple earths would just add too much confusion. How would new readers easily be able to tell that a book takes place on earth2. I doubt they would write EARTH 2 on the cover so you would just have to figure it out on your own.

SPOILERS Has anyone read the Day of Vengeance Special yet? What's up there? I love the whole ten ages of magic thing they have going on, and this issue had a great beginning, but a formulaic middle, and a downright rushed ending! So, the menace of the Spectre is over, and God has sent him off to find a new host. Is that cop Corrigan in the GCPD still breathing? With Nabu destroyed, it looks like Dr. Fate is getting a (completely unnecessary IMHO) revamp. Any guesses on who will fill the helmet? I think they should draft Tim Hunter from Vertigo. And did they also pretty much end the career of Captain Marvel by telling him he had to go live in the Rock of Eternity? All in all a very eventful, very uneven issue. I might buy the ongoing, but I really don't like the line-up (unless Zee, Madame Xanadu and the Phantom Stranger stick around).

It was a nice to finally have an ending to Days of Vengence.
Regarding the Captain Marvel spoiler: Cap might be stuck on the Rock for now, but I think he's just keeping the chair warm for one of the new lords of order/chaos.

Spoilers: I don't think they should have thrown the helmet out into space like that...I know they wanted it to pick it's own wearer, and let fate decide, but any madman or psychopathic freak could pick that up! On another note, I am unsure about this whole Captain Marvel thing. This special was a big disappointment to me...I was expecting much more.
