Finally it's here!
This truly felt like a big time series relaunch from start to finish. TGLC was one of my favorite pre-crisis titles and there was so much stuff left unanswered that needed to be addressed in the new Green Lantern series.
Here were some of my thoughts and reaction to the issue:
Chloe Sullivan continued to be a great character it was genius the way we got to see her thoughts through her journal. I loved the idea that the 'protected city's' saw a boom in population after the crisis.
Are we led to believe that you know who is the savior of the Corps?
Faraday's dislike of Hal is just chocked full of story potential!
The sexual tension (for lack of a better word) is another juice bit I can't wait to see explored more.
Was Superman being referred to as Clark suppose to be in there? If so Hal kinda slipped up didn't he?
The ending was just great with you know who at the door!
I lover the fact that this series and the title that preceded it has taken such radical and dramatic turns from it's DC counterparts but still has a firm grasp on what makes Hal and the bunch truly classic characters!
The only thing that would have made it perfect was having Guy Gardner in it. Is he bounty hunting in space or what? Keep up this great storytelling and I am sure I can wait a little bit longer for his return!

I've been waiting anxiously for this to appear and was not disappointed in the least! I already know that you've got a perfect take on Hal and the gang, but your Faraday and Chloe is out of this world as well.
Favorite line: Chloe on the other... nice Don't know why, but that just cracked me up.
I'm looking forward to where you are taking Hal and the gang, as much as I am anxiously awaiting that other guy who's coming to DC2 real soon... *coughIoncough*
Thanks for one heckuva great read, Scott!

Thanks guys... I appreciate your comments.
To answer a few couple of questions:
Don't know just who[i/] you're referring to as the savior, so I'll just playfully say: No Comment.
All times that Chloe referred to Clark were in here head. She sees the name Superman and immediately thinks Clark. She's never come across someone who could read her mind (at least not since Saturn Girl) during her time as a DEO agent, so she doesn't shield her thoughts. Unfortunately for her, that will get here into some serious trouble in upcoming issues...
Wow... you just keep begging for Gardner! You will be pleased to know that he will make a return very soon! But not in these pages! He'll be returning in Green Lantern Corps Quarterly... where we'll do some catching up with him at first. His story is just beginning, and guys, you'll be VERY pleased.
*coughIONcough* is Ramon's baby! So you'll here no more about that from me just yet!
I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the tardiness of the cover. It is entirely my fault. I thought I would have enough time to complete it, but I barely have enough time to complete my writing assignments anymore. AICarlos (that's 'Art Institute Carlos', in case anyone wondered what the ai was all about) offered to do it for me, and I saw the preliminary sketches in the library yesterday - they're awesome as usual. So has Ramon, so we may have a pair of covers coming very soon! Again, I am very sorry and hope to remedy this by next month!

It was a really amazing story. I loved the jealous Carol I have to say that I didn't really read the whole GLC series, but I'm definitely going to follow GL and *coughIoncough* ;D

I just have to say, I was blown away by this issue: from the truly awesome cover by Carlos, to the easy story-telling style that Scott has--- not to mention the edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger ending...!
I love the direction this book is heading. This is Hal as he should be, a fearless, fun, adventurous hero, sweeping woman off their feet and putting the bad guys away, all in a day's work!
His interactions with King and Chloe were very cool (loved how he threw King against a wall), down to the power ring rose on the pillow.
This title (while it is no longer or shorter than any other DC2 book) always reads faster to me--- before you know it, it is over, and you are gasping for more! Issue #2 is gonna open with a bang (presumably the same bang Issue #1 ended with), and I can't wait to read it!
And, BTW, lots of little nuggets of information here about the larger story taking place in the GL universe this year! Something big is going down in space (remember what happened on Oa in the Crisis?), and this issue is the opening salvo in a great event stretching across all three (!) GL titles this year at the DC2!

A cool story, lots of set up, but I couldn't read the "handwritten" sections, they didn't do anything for me really (I think it was the font, its put me off) but this was awesome. It read like the first issue of a new series (duhhh it is) and it laid out all your needed to know even before the story started! I've been waiting for the return of the DEO for a while (where are Nodell and Clevenger? ) and this did not disappoint! And I loved the new costume design, and I can't wait to "see" Hal in action!! Cool cover Carlos! Keep up the good work! Thanks Scott!

Thanks Riz! You should go back and play catch up with some of the back issues... especially for the history with Chloe, Faraday & Hal.
David, awww shucks, you're making me blush!
Charlie, thanks for the compliments, and I have to agree, the handwritten sections didn't flow like I had hoped they would. I think we should change them back to normal. Everyone should be able to tell who's speaking without the alternating fonts. Unfortunately Nodell and Clevenger were killed in the crisis (just kidding). I'm glad you like the new costume design, and I agree, Carlos did an amazing job!

Four words:
Hal. Is. A. Pimp. ;D
That's the reason why Hal is my favorite GL. Women want him, and men want to be Hal Jordan.
Great issue. I love the Green Lantern comic DC is publishing, and this looks to be just as good.

Great beginning to a solo title for Hal. I really liked how cocky he was to Faraday. Also I have to admit that Hal accomplished something I have wanted to do since season one of Smallville. Um...yeah fly an airplane.

Oh man, I love this.
Hal's always been "my" Lantern so I was excited about this title from the get-go. And as always you've written him perfectly.
Hal's the wild, smart ass, lady-killing, man's man I wish I could be like. It's not just that he has the ring. The character of Hal is so damn fun he's like someone I wanna hang with.
The Chloe/Carol jealousy thing was a hoot. And Hal still spent time with Chloe. Take that, Carol.
I agree with Idle that it reads too fast. Especially with that ending I was like "that's it?" Aw man...

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks these stories feel short -- every issue, I just zip on through and want more! Yes, indeed, Hal is a pimp. I was surprised for a second when I reralized him and Chloe slept together, but then I thought, "C'mon, it's HAL! Of course he's gonna try and bag her!" Best way to get to the DEO off his back, really: seduce one of the agents!

Yes, Hal could take down Supes if he set his mind to it. Lots of people underestimate GLs. Especially now, I suppose.
And was that the future-Star Sapphire I see? My my my...
