Letters to Checkmate: Operation Outsiders #8

Another terrific issue here. The battle scene's were well done and drew me in completely. Have to admit that I didn't see the Bane scene coming at all.

I know this is about the Outsiders and Checkmate, but I'd really love to see what happens to the Suicide Squad(and more importantly, Deadman), now.

To be totally honest, thought, I'm not a big fan of all the profanity (I know there isn't a great deal and it's probably hypocritical coming from the guy who writes the Mature Reader book over at the sister site), but it here it felt a little disoncerting. At least for me. However, it wasn't a big enough distraction to take away from the over all story.

Once again a great read. Keep them coming and I promise to keep coming back!

I have long considered an E-2 Suicide Squad series. And it will probably manifest at some point.

As for Deadman, I didn't expect him to be a big character. A while ago when Riz and I discussed the team, he suggested I put a magic user on the Squad. I jokingly suggested Deadman, he liked the idea, and Boston Brand was put the team. And the more I thought about it, the more I like Deadman's 'outsider' status with the rest of the team (and the world).



That's understandable. I'm glad you could still enjoy the issue.
