As I'm sure most of you are well aware, many hours of work go into the production of an issue on the DC2, from the writer and artist both. We do this because we love to, but no one likes to work without incentive, either. For us, the incentive is knowing that others share our interests and appreciate our efforts; without that, the incentive to go on will surely diminish.
This poll is a fact finding mission.
While I love chronicling the adventures of the DC2 JSA, I do have some interest in other writing projects (non-fan fiction related), and a very small window of time in which to write during the week (a position many of us find ourselves in, no doubt). So I'd like to know how much interest is out there for this title, and if it warrants my (and Jamie's) continued contribution of incresingly limited time.
In short, should regular posting of this title be canceled?
To be sure, the results of this poll will just give me some help in making the decision--- I may choose to continue even with a very negative response (though unlikely), or I may choose to end it even with a very positive response; at least at the end of the day I'll know where the community stands (and if my own internal motivations can carry me through).
I would especially appreciate a vote from any who might be in the silent majority, the lurkers or non-members who may not comment on issues, but stop into the DC2 to read our work.
Thanks for your help in this matter folks!

To be clear, this is not (explicitly) a referendum on the viability of the DC2 as a whole, nor an announcement that I would be leaving. I'm a lifer around here, and whatever the results of this poll will no doubt continue to work on this site for many years to come, in some manner or another.

I would definately miss this title if it was canceled, but you need to do what you feel is right and I think we'd all understand that.

Thanks, Alex. I know JSA has a devoted core of readers, for which I'm very grateful. But I can't help but wonder: what is the breakpoint? Is it enough to write for a small circle of friends and collaborators...? Some might say it's enough to write just for one's own pleasure (those that peer deeply into the mysteries of the universe, that is).

I'm in the same boat as you, D; only writing GL when I have a cover in hand, not writing GL because I have no cover... the title is effectively dead.

But mr Charlton was sent a cover for the next issue!
I think it would be a terrible shame to let it die but at the same time, you have to do what you want to do,not feel some sense of obligation-write for yourself as much as/more than for others!!

Still interested in hearing what folks think about this. While I very much appreciate the support from Scott, Jamie, Alex, Jay and Charlie, I kinda already knew what they felt about it. Are there any others out there who have an opinion one way of the other on JSA?

Then I'll be UNSTOPPABLE!

I have this crazy idea.
I've always loved the JSA and swore to myself that one day I'll make a full fan comic of them.
Let's make things interesting around here. Give me your script, I'll make a fan comic out of it... in a month.
I'm putting this challenge upon myself, like a '24-hour comic book' or 30characters.
Jamie's already got the cover. I'll do the interiors. This will be an awesome project for the 3 of us.
What do you say, Dave?

I've never written a comic script before, but I'll give it a shot. Do you have a particular format you prefer, or should I just go find a template online? ;D

Anything will do, Dave! Full script, Marvel Style, I've worked with all styles. Just keep it within maybe 20 to 22 pages, or less Nothing like a good challenge to inspire creativity! ;D ~JOe P.S. Marvel style would be the easiest. Just give me brief descriptions of what's going on on the panel (e.g. "Panel 3: Wildcat side-stepped and gave Vandal Savage one in the nut.") Something like that . You just come up with the dialogue when I submit the art. That way we can do this in parallel.

Not sure if I'm good enough to script the action w/out dialogue (then again, it might be much easier for all I know), but I'll try it that way. I can make a start this weekend (I have most of the issue written in prose already), and will send you pages as I have them. This will be fun! I will be be sure to try to work in Wildcat giving someone "one in the nut" ;D ;D !

I'm always interested in seeing newness. We know the grip David has on the JSA characters, let's see him tackle something new. If he's got some project or other in his portfolio he's ready to break out, I say we see what he's got.
Take care Don
