Great issue! I've been following this series with a big grin on my face. As usual, Charlie, you've a knack for impeccable plotting and amusing timing. The story continues to unfold with some serious twists and turns!
This was a awesome continuation of the knock-em-down, drag-em-out fight between villains and heroes from the previous issue with one hell of a twist - two, actually! I just KNEW Amanda Waller wasn't dead - she's like a cockroach - but I did not anticipate the Secret Society rearing their ugly head! Then, during the battle at Arkham, Wonder Woman shows up to save the day. (Well, we'll see! Nice reference to Batman v Superman, too!) I can't believe Lambert was foolish enough to fire the beam. This is not going to end well!
Great work!

Great issue! I've been following this series with a big grin on my face. I love it when people have an emotional response to my work! This miniseries is pure fan service, and I wanted to take the time to dig into the relationships that I think matter to the DC2, like those between Batman and Superman. My first story (or so) was entitled “ Worlds Finest?” and was the first meeting between the two fellows in continuity. They’ve been my foundation for the site, and they’re a blast to play off. As usual, Charlie, you've a knack for impeccable plotting and amusing timing. The story continues to unfold with some serious twists and turns! I’m pleased I was able to plot this thing in a daze, so all I’m doing— or was doing, as I’ve finished writing it now— involved following the beats I laid out, and making them sing. There are so many moving parts, but I don’t think it ever got away from me that perhaps Omega Crisis has. I hope the end sticks the landing. Nice reference to Batman v Superman, too!) Fight scenes! The hardest things! How do you write action? How do you write combat? So difficult, I swear to God. But changing the venue, approaching it in different ways— the bank fight was based on Arkham City mechanics, for example— is how I push myself to deliver in new issues. I’m writing Omega Crisis #6, and I kind of... go into an automatic writing trance, where I know where I need to end up, and just write and write until I get there. That means that sometimes there’s repetition, but I think fight scenes can benefit from that. Of course Amanda wasn’t really dead, and it was trying to figure out how she didn’t die, after that visual from the end of the first issue, that made me bring in the Society. A horrifying cadaver piñata is right up Toyman’s alley, and then it was a case of back engineering the story. I was trying to figure out when the right time to bring her back would be, and I think pacing dictated it was here, especially considering what’s coming in the rest of the chapters. Of course she’s alive, but who else is with her? What’s going on Santa Prisca? Demonstrating the wider world of the DC2 is important, and this is the start of a deeper dive into continuity that I fear may turn off the casual reader, but reward those who follow the DC2 closer. I couldn’t help myself with Diana’s arrival. Sometimes I misjudge my nods to wider DC properties— in Batman: Final Knight, Silver Wayne called Bruce “DeeDee”, as in “double digits”, as in that terrible nickname Kevin Smith introduced in Batman: The Widening Gyre. That didn’t land well. This one, I’m confident did. I can't believe Lambert was foolish enough to fire the beam. This is not going to end well! Great work! Yeah, that can’t end well.

Okay, I have to say - DeeBee is a terrible pet name for poor Bruce Wayne. In all honesty, though, this was an awesome issue. Ton of fun. Looking forward to the next one!
